The location of the hotel is in a nice quiet place. The staff is helpful. The price is really correct (we stayed 5 nights). We will definitely come back for our next trip to London.

This hotel was not even a 2.5 star facility (by most standards). While the management were polite the rooms were being renovated (it was obvious that the facility had been "let go") with bed frames stacked in the halls and stained/worm carpets everywhere. We were first assigned an unsecure basement room as there were no rooms for a family of 4 (which we had requested ahead of time) on any floor above ground level. There was a 3 star Best Western two blocks away with a much nicer atmosphere/value. The breakfast was minimal.

Do not stay at this hotel! There was a bed-bug infestation in the room that was absolutely gross. While a new room was granted, the rate was only cut by a paltry £20.

Lot of people in the street outside my room at night. (until 3-4 in the morning every night!) I belive it is because of your new smoking-law that people sit outside this hotel with their beers and cigarettes. (The other part of my family stayed at a room on the other side. Nice) The breakfast was unusual for us norwegians. We missed at least cheese.. All in all, nice stay, friendly employees.

I have been to london's hotels many times. But this hotel disapointed me greatly. Maybe I was unlucky with room 308. OK i was expecting a small room, It was realy small. The bathroom gave off a smell of bad eggy drains. I soon found out why when I brushed my teath. Bassin compleatly blocked. 1 hour later that dirty water came up in the shower unit. Must wait 2 hours for shower to drain, than a 3 minute shower fills the unit to the top. Danger of over flow.(rotten egg smell) I guess the bed cover has never ever been washed. You can feel it. Don't look behind the bed, or under it. Very dirty, The spotted gray carpet hides the dirt very well. Also be carefull of the leaning cupbord, it tends to fall over when you open the door. I told the smiling recption attendant about the drains. He said thay would sort it. But thay didn't. Second night got a little drunk so things didn't seem so bad. I would sugest room 308 needs a good renovation. First thing you are greated with when you arrive at the reception: "HOW YOU WAN A PAY"

Low quality hotel. Tiny reception, tight corridors and stairs, no lift. I was in the room 408, last floor facing street. Room small as possible, worn out furniture, old paint, untight window, dirty carpet. Bathroom small, needs refurbishment. They didnt service the room every day! Quiet street gets very noisy after 1AM in the night- pub on the corner, party in the house in front of the hotel, some guys making rounds with their noisy Lamborghini. And worst of all: mice! You can see them and hear at night scratching furniture. There is smell of mice poo in the room. One positive- there was breakfast included in price.

Palace Court is a section of a big building all dedicated to hotels. Quality is aligned with the price, you pay for what you get. Little room and little bathroom, but it's ok if you are in London to visit the city. For 60pounds/90euro you cannot claim a King's room. The "excellent english breakfast" is a normal bread, jam, milk/tea, cereals, hard-boiled eggs breakfast, but it's good. Location is very convenient to get the underground and is close to Kensington Gardens. Once at home I was covered by unknown bug bites (for sure not mosquitos), very painful and hard to heal even after a week. I don't know if I got them in the hotel, on the train or somewhere else.

The room was small as expected. Bathroom had broken sliding shower door which was dangerous for children. Toilet flushed poorly and needed multiple attempts. Window should have railings because a child can easily fall out when it's opened with the bed at window height next to it. Breakfast was basic but served our purposes. Location was great near playground in Kensington gardens as well as shops, restaurants etc.

We booked in for 4 nights but stayed only 2- this was because the room had bedbugs. Our time in London was largely spent seeing the inside of doctors waiting rooms (my wife had an allergic reaction) and a laundromat (as we had to wash all of our belongings to make sure the bedbugs didn't infest our luggage). We provided a copy of a doctors letter to the night manager to verify our claims re: the bedbugs and the need to fumigate. Despite the advertisement on venere specifically saying this hotel has broadband internet, there was none to be found. The reception on the television in our room was terrible. A hairdryer was not available on request because there was apparently only 1 for use by the entire hotel and was in use by other rooms on both occasions that we asked for it. There was no lift/elevator in the hotel despite the add on venere saying there was. After moving to different accomodation and phoning the Palace Court Hotel manager to discuss our issues, we were hung up on repeatedly. This was by far the worst experience of our 5 week holiday and I would not recommend this accomodation to anyone.

I can't tell about the other rooms: ours was an attic room (top floor), obviously designed for a maid. It was a very small and poor bedroom with bare walls, a bulb as the lighting, a dirty head of the bed. The bathroom was'nt any better. We have already stayed in other B&Bs in London and we've never found such a place.

Salu2

A very nice hotel, very clean, in a quite area, with a good welcoming and a good breakfast. You can go, it's a very good choice!

The ensuite rooms were very small, making it difficult for just 2 people to move about getting ready for the day. While most hotels in London are small, these seemed excesively so. The hotel is conveniently located near the Bayswater tube station and also a touristy type main street with plenty of restauarants, pubs, shops, etc. All this is within walking distance, even for Americans who don't walk anywhere. Also, it was just a 6-pound taxi ride from Paddington Station where the Heathrow Express terminates. Not too bad. The included breakfast was pretty good for a continental style. I would not return to this hotel only because of the size of the rooms. All else was at least acceptable. If room size is not a consideration or if you are a single traveler, then this would be a decent buy.

And the room even had a tea-pot(for boiling water). Breakfast was included in the already nice price(I didn't expect that and was gladly surpriced). The only negativ thing a have to add was the thin walls, we could hear a german couple argue and watch TV in the next room...

The exterior of the building was not in as good of shape as the picture! It was weird always having to turn in our key whenever we left the hotel (made us nervous). The hotel and room we stayed in were cute, but by no means big. We had to walk up five flights of stairs to get to our room, and this one stair, the carpet was coming off - can you say, lawsuit? All you get for your toiletries is bar soap, so plan accordingly. The heaters and furniture were dusty/dirty. The room was VERY hot, and we could hear our neighbors stomping around a bit in the a.m. The free breakfast got boring after three days in a row: cornflakes or oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, and toast. The one lady who works there got mad at my mother-in-law for trying to take her coffee back to her room ("Don't you understand?!" she snipped). Overall, if you get the price of this website, it's worth it. NOT worth it if you pay the actual hotel's price - ridiculous (especially for its quality)! It's relatively close to the Bayswater tube station. They have baggage storage.

The hotel is being updated - make sure you stay in the bit which has been done. My room wasnt. The heating didnt work, the shower didnt have any pressure, the sink was coming off the wall, the toilet smelt, the shower was held up with wood, the tv had 1 channel. I paid good money for this room and it was not worth it. I suggest you do not go to this hotel unless you are having a updated room. The web page on venere incorrectly states the availability of an elevator. Let me clarify: there isn't one! And I had specifically looked for a property with an elevator, so this was a big problem for me as I had a big case, which I had to lug up these narrow stairs to the fourth floor. It's very difficult to move luggage around, there isn't anyone to help, and the passageways, staircases and rooms are very small so if you have more than an overnight bag, I'd give this place a pass. Otherwise it's an excellent deal for the price and if it hadn't been for the above issue, I would have enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff.
