BREAKFAST ABSOLUTELY POOR! FIRST TIME IN LONDON ONLY WITH COLD FOOD SERVED! IT WAS TERRIBLE TO GET THE FOURTH FLOOR WITHOUT ELEVATOR AND CLIMBING NARROW STAIRS. NEVER MORE!!!

We stayed at a two room family suite. The welcome was very kind and explanatory, and conducted in a friendly atmosphere. The room itself was alright; there was not much extra space, but that was to be expected. Our surprise was a restriction that didnt allow us to bring any fast food into the hotel, especially as there is no restaurant in the hotel. That possibility is something we would have appreaciated in the environment as it comes close to its authentic quality. Another negative aspect is that it seemed as though the bathroom was very humid all the time (deffective ventilation?), which may cause mould to appear.

Good hotel in general, but small single rooms with a very small bathroom. Quiet and safe area close to Victoria Station. The staff were nice and helpful.

The breakfast buffet was excellent considering the price and had plenty of choises. However don't expect a cooked english breakfast. The room was very clean and well kept but the huge king size bed took up most of the room so we struggled a bit unpacking our luggage. The reception staff was very welcoming and helpfull and the area pleasant with a short walk to both the pimlico sub-station and Victoria station which was very handy arriving in Gatwich.

Fantastic staff who were very very helpful, very clean rooms, good breakfast. highly recommend this hotel, because of the excellent friendly staff.

El lugar está perfecto, sobre todo la limpieza de las habitaciones y baños, es un hotel pequeño y bien mantenido. La persona que nos recibió fue muy amable y nos ayudó en todo lo que pudo. Ha! un gran detalle, en la habitación hay de todo para tomar té (tazas, hervidor, azúcar y té) y les aseguro que recordarán siempre el placer de encontrarse con ello al regresar de un intenso y frío día en Londres. Lo recomendamos ciegamente a los que van en pareja, es muy tranquilo y acogedor. Ojo, no hay ascensor, y las escaleras son largas, en especial con maletas a cuestas. La estación Victoria está muy cerca del lugar, muchos buses que vienen desde los aeropuertos llegan ahí.

I was there on holidays with my sister and It was fantastic. Everything was perfect. It was my first time in this hotel but I should recommended to everybody!!!!

Welcoming and nice hotel, exactly as described. New and clean but so small room (the same as most London hotels). Very clean bathroom. Not satisfied about tiny breakfast but a short walk to the nearest "Caffé Nero" did the trick! :-) Employees are nice and competent. Cool location near Victoria Station (metro, train, restaurants and shops open until 23) with a bus stop just in front of the Hotel. Strong heating with tropical temperatures in the room. There is no lift but only tight and steep stairs so watch your step! I'll definitely recommend this Hotel to my friends. Italians? Learn English!!

Prima volta a Londra con molti dubbi per l'hotel . Ci siamo affidati ai commenti di Venere e per l'ennesima volta tutto è filato liscio . Eravamo in quattro due adulti e i nostri due figli di 15 e 9 anni . L'hotel Melbourne è in una splendida zona tipicamente Inglese calma e tranquilla con Victoria Station a 10 min e la fermata della metro Pimliko a 2 min . Stanze non enormi come siamo abituati in italia ma molto belle e pulitissime ; il personale cordiale e gentilissimo (una classica casa in stile Inglese riadattata a Hotel ) . La zona e silenziosissima percui notti tranquille . Forse l'unica cosa è stata la colazione che poteva essere più abbondante (classica colazione con thè,caffè latte , marmellata e se volete anche il classico meet and chese con il pane tostato). Ultima nota personale : Londra e stupenda , la tube è un po cara meglio taxi o big bus ritorneremo sicuramente .

Hotel adatto ad ogni tipo di clientela,io lo raccomando maggiormente a famiglie con bambini perchè molto pulito. Colazione più che abbondante. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. I letti sono comodi e dormire in questa struttura è molto piacevole. La posizione è strategica vicinissimo alla metrò Pimlico e a 10 min. a piedi da Victoria station importante crocevia di collegamento con gli aeroporti. Victoria Station è anche un centro commerciale che accoglie molti punti di ristoro come anche Victoria street.

Try room 15! It is on the top floor and has an excellent view over the roofs of London towards London Eye, Parliament buildung up to the beautiful Swiss Re building in the City of London. The houses in the street are so beautiful The hotel is very clean and offers a reasonable breakfast!

Extremely clean and well maintained, very friendly staff. Not too cheap but in London you won't find something as good for less money. Breakfast was pretty good. Don't walk from Victoria Station, get off in Pimlico, it is quite far from Victoria. Would definetly

For the price, it is unreasonable to expect the Ritz, but if you go in with managed expectations, this is superb value. The rooms are small, but everything was very clean. The digital TV was actually excellent. The free breakfast left a little to be desired. Also be aware that Pimlico in general is a little off the beaten track, but Pimlico tube station is right down the street and Victoria Station is a 10 minute walk.

Muy recomendable, bien comunicado, habitaciones muy limpias aunque algo pequeñas, zona tranquila pero con muchos servicios. El director es muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar en todo.

The price was relatively good compared to what you pay for other comparable hotels.The hotel is very clean. It is in very suitable location, near the Victoria station- bus and tube station is very near- bus stop is actually only few steps away. But no great selection at breakfast.

Compared to London Hotels this was very good value. Clean with efficient and helpful staff. Rooms were a little small, and I suspect it could be noisy if there were noisy and inconsiderate quests. However excellent location, close to coach & train station.On bus route & close to tube. Twenty minute walk to the West End. Good value for a short break in expensive London

ENGLISH We arrived at 7pm, our room was in the basement floor and heating not turned on! (6th of March) They turned it on and we lept into the shower, but when we came out the heating was off again and it was cold! We complained but they were sarcastic and rude to my wife. The bathroom had only two small towels and no soap and shampoo! There are no decent waiting rooms in the hotel. just a bare room with two sofas. No magazines, table, curtains, music. In the morning the heaing was off again. breakfast was quite poor. We complained, firmly but in an educated way, and the owner of the hotel told us we'd offended him, and what should we excpect for 95 pounds! We left and went in a hotel only 200 mt from this one. It was cheaper (75 pounds), they were welcoming, the bedrooms were warm. I wouyldn't reccomend this hotel to anybody. ITALIANO Siamo arrivati in albergo alle 19:00 e con grande stupore abbiamo visto la camera, che era nel seminterrato dell'albergo, e senza alcun riscaldamento (periodo: 6 marzo)! Ci hanno detto che l'avrebbero acceso. Abbiamo fatto una doccia, e c'erano solo due piccoli acsiugamani, senza nemmeno una saponetta, uno shampoo! Incredibile...e quando siamo usciti il riscaldamento era ancora spento! Siamo andati a chiedere chiarimenti, ci hanno trattato prima con sufficienza, poi con scortesia. Sono assenti sale d'aspetto decenti nell'albergo: solo una stanza spoglia con due divani, senza tende, senza riviste. Abbiamo dormito e alla mattina il riscaldamento era ancora spento (ore 9:00) e faceva freddo in camera. Al nostro successivo reclamo, portato in maniera comunque educata, ci siamo sentiti dire del titolare dell'albergo che era offeso. Una delle peggiori esperienze possibili in un albergo. La colazione è misera. L'albergo è costato 95 sterline, è pulito, ma tutto il resto è assolutamente indegno. Dovevamo restare due notti; la seconda invece abbiamo dormito in un albergo a 200 mt da lì. 75 sterline, cortesia...

This was a very nice hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. I liked that I was on the ground floor, however, I could hear everyone going up and down the stairs. That didn't seem to bother me late into the night so it wasn't too much of a problem. The rooms were quite small, but sufficient for what I needed. I would stay here again.

One of the cleanest and quietest rooms I ever had in London. Breakfast is simple but OK considering that it's included. Staff very friendly. Don't expect luxury, though. I did not even have a chair in my room but only a small stool that fit under the small desk. In the bathroom only a little piece of soap, no shampoo or shower gel or like. Overall, good value for money

We had a good stay at the Melbourne house. The room (nr. 7) was completly renovated and the cleaness was ok. In the room are tea and coffee facilities free of charge. Breakfast was tipical english served on the table. To the Metro Pimlico it's only 3 minutes and Victoria station is 15 minutes by foot what is realy important if you take the coach (Bus) to Stansted!!! - only 10 Euros instead of 19 Euros with the Stansted Express!!!

A lovely hotel. Very clean. Excellent position: bus nr 24 takes you easily to Victoria and Westminster. A short walk and you are at pimlico underground station.

-Melbourne House vas very clean and quiet -Beds are comfort and people in hotel are friendly -The atmosphere is very good in this area - if you arrive from Standsted airport by bus to Victoria station -this area is excellent- because you can walk to your hotel -its easy!

A very friendly place. The location is quite good, only a few minutes away from victoria station, a quiet area. Felt very comfortable there. Had a room on 5th. floor, unfortunately there is no elevater. Overall a very good place to stay.

Location semplice e informale ma pulita e silenziosa. Noi (famiglia di 4 persone con 2 bambini) abbiamo trovato una camera piccolina (circa 12-15 mq con due letti ed un letto a castello con bagnetto di 3 mq in camera) ma pulita, silenziosa e ristrutturata da poco (n° 6). Il gestore gentile, la localizzazione in una buona zona, la colazione discreta e la presenza di inglesi da fuori londra confermano un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, anche per gli standard esigenti di noi italiani. Visti gli spazi limitati a disposizione nelle stanze la consiglio per periodi di permanenza brevi. Servita bene da metro e bus.

Chambre fraichement refaite ainsi que les sanitaires. Chambre pour 2 parents et 2 enfants. Petit dej très correct. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Melbourne House is a sure accomodation for cleanliness. All the services are quite correct. As London is very expensive, we've got for the price a very lovely twin room, a little small but as clean as it can be, and the location is interesting to be at the heart of London in few minuts. The owner was nice with us, poor little frenches who don't want to work lol...Just a thing : maybe the breakfast is not too generous for hungry people...have a nice trip to London, for us it's a nice memory!

Stanza pulita, colazione soddisfacente ed abbondante, personale gentilissimo ed ottima posizione. Per il prezzo pagato la realtà ha superato le aspettative.

Esattamente quello che mi aspettavo: ottimo B&B, tranquillo, economico (per Londra lo è sicuramente), pulito, silenzioso, in posizione centrale comodissima ideale per chi vuole visitare la città e non passare le giornate in una camera a dire il vero piccolina ma con bagno privato, asciugacapelli, TV e tutto il necessario per soggiornarvi alcuni girni! Colazione soddisfacente e servizio cortese.

Muy limpio, el desayuno estupendo, la atención muy buena, muy bien situado, centrico y muy buena zona, no ruidoso, buena temperatura, muy contentos. Volveremos.

The bathroom was clean and and nice sized. Breakfast was enjoyable, with the option of cereal or eggs. The room was very small. The biggest problem was a disgustingly dirty chair and two blankets that were stained. Also, the heat was on when we arrived at the room and it was at least 90 degrees F in the room. We had to leave the window open most of the night. Be sure to bring earplugs. 75 pounds seems too much for this facility.

Competences of employees are very good, rooms are very clean and quiet. However, the furniture is rudimental, breakfast is not really generous, and you must walk 10mn to go to underground station Victoria. But the relationship between price/quality is very correct.

Excellent location, just 5 minutes walk from Victoria underground and bus station and great eating and shopping places are nearby. Its location is the strongest points of this accomodation. We were satisfied with the hotel, but the room was in the basement and the breakfast is really terrible. In spite of these I would highly recommend this hotel and all others which are on the same road (there are plenty of them and all the same quality and price). Very good neighbourhood.

London-typical prices (65 quids per room via internet, 85 during peak season), clean rooms, small but not tiny. Bathroom seems to have been renovated recently. We had room no.3 onto the backyard, so the room was exceptionally quiet, but the walls are very thin. Breakfast is not very copious (toast, cereals or eggs, orange juice, hot beverage). Staff was very friendly. Can recommend the hotel, good relationship price/quality (when compared to the rest of London).

Noisy bedroom (at the road side) for the first night. We changed for a room in the back for the other nights: it was very quiet and we enjoyed our stay.

The room was tiny with only a 3/4 bed. There was no coffee supplied, only some tea bags in a plastic bag and some powdered milk. The lad on reception did not speak very good english and did not seem to know what he was doing. The "breakfast" consisted of a glass of orange, a slice of toast, and your choice of boiled, poached, or scrambled eggs, and a cup of tea or coffee.

Ho soggiornato al Melbourne House per 4 notti, mi sono trovato veramente bene, la camera è molto piccola, ma pulita e tranquilla, il bagno è nuovo e pulitissimo con un buon flusso di acqua calda e una doccia molto spaziosa. Unici inconvenienti è che non c'è l'ascensore e che la colazione è modesta con poca scelta, ma nel complesso mi posso ritenere pienemente soddisfatto. Sicuramente ci tornerò e lo suggerirò ai miei amici

Dear Sir's We found the hotel to be all we expected remembering WE booked and stayed at Melbourne House and not some 5/6 star,, all in all WE would stay again,, Les and Elizabeth saxon.

We have had a very nice trip in London. But life is very expensive. Aproximately 25 to 30 % more expensive than in Paris. Melbourne house is absolutly clean as the web-site said.

Für ein Londoner Hotel absolut super in dieser Preisklasse-saubere Zimmer, relativ reichhaltiges Frühstück (allerdings fast nur süß) und super Lage. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder diese Unterkunft wählen.

A destacar: buen trato,limpio,un desayuno estupendo, y por supuesto su localizacion es inmejorable.

Excellent location to explore London. Very friendly staff and clean rooms, bath being really nice. Compared to German prices still quite expensive but compared to London rates ok. Breakfast could be nicer, e.g. fresh fruit and more choices. I would stay there again.

I find the hotel prices in England are very high. The room was very small, but clean. we had a room next to the main street - we had a lot of noise from the street (coaches, cars, etc.) The breakfast was: instant coffee, toast with marmelade in small plastic packages (an egg if you like). So, nothing for us.

The hotel was quite nice. For this price in Hungary you can get a four stars hotel, but in London, in august you can hardly get a cheaper one. It was really clean, the emlpoyees were Russian mostly so they didn't speak english that good. The location - Belgrave roead (where there are at least 40 other hotels) is a long street. The hotel is at the south end so the nearest subway station is Pimlico station (Victoria line).

Hotels are expensive in London. The Melbourne Hotel is rated 3 stars but based on a quality/price rating in Rome or Paris, I will give them only 2 stars. In any case, the position is really good in order to visit London. Therefore, it can be recommended.

We received a very good attention. The location was very convinient for us, and the bedroom and facilities were very clean.

The hotel was nice and very clean, as the pounds are very expensive for us italian.....i found the price otf the room expensive......but it was warm and clean....a the owners were very friendly...... i think they should serve english breakfast rather than continental.....or evene better give guests the choice

Nice little hotel on a residential street not far from Victoria Station. There is no lift and the steps are steep, so be prepared. The room and staff were good, and the breakfast adequate. Not a bad hotel for the money.

At this reasonal price in the heart of London, quality of the service might ba as was. It was convinient location to Victria staion. Employees were friendly and capable for multi language. If only the room had bath tub rather than just shower service.

Very enjoyable stay. The location is great. The breakfast and service were exceptional. The room, though small, was very clean and the bathroom and shower were the best on the trip.

We enjoyed our stay and felt it was just as represented. The Host, John, was very friendly and most helpful. Only thing that we felt was not very good was the breakfast. It was adequate, but no variety.
