The location was very handy; to city, transport and many cafes. We felt safe, the rooms were cleaned properly every day. The reception staff did not go to any trouble. There was no lounge to sit in. Lots of stairs with no lift or porter. The hotel seemed expensive for what we got but London is known for this.

I got exactly what I needed and expected. A hotel only a short walk from either Paddington or Lancaster Gate Underground stations, a room with enough space for our personal belongings and two beds, toilet and shower. There was a hair dryer in the room, and a water heater with two cups and tea bags. The room also had a TV that I never turned on though. There's also a computer with internet access in the lobby, or wifi access throughout the hotel. The breakfast room is very small and the morning we went there, totally overcrowded. Not that big a deal, we just went out of curiosity and usually went out for breakfast anyway. Overall, I'm very satisfied and might book a room at the Linden House again on my next London trip.

We are a young couple and this has been our second experience in London hotels. The only good thing about this hotel was the location (close to several Tube stations and Hyde Park). The room (double ensuite) was extremely small and cleaning not excessive. Breakfast was quite simple. We are not going to repeat.

Beware of this hotel. They charged my Visa-card even though I payed for the room in cash. I had to phone them to get my money back. The breakfast was a disaster, small room, had to wait for 15 -20 minutes to get a table.

Familiy with 2 children, 2 nights, very small room (Quad) without daylight in -1 floor, but good continental breakfast, only a few minutes walk to Kensington Park and underground station(Paddington). 4 % for paying with credit card is too much (but indicated in the reservation).

Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

We were staying in London for some West End shows, the hotel was set in a good location if you wanted to be out of main stream London. My only grumble was the breakfast, on the web it said you got continental breakfast which in fact turned out to be a bowl of boiled eggs on your table, cereals and toast, admittedly you could have as much as you wanted but i just imagined there may have been fruit etc. Otherwise a lovely hotel, not too far out, we actually walked back into Oxford street within 15 minutes, would stay here again

Warning! The information about the location of the hotel sent from Venere was not as good as on the webpage. Since there is a Sussex Place close to Regent Park and another one close to Hyde Park, this could make it very difficult for visitors to find the hotel. I was not satisfied with this information! The hotel was nice and clean, quiet neighborhood, easy access to city center with Bakerloo line tube. Even good security! Negative was the British breakfast! If you don't like eggs and jam, you will have a seriously problem! Also very expensive to leave your suitcases in the receiption after you finished your stay!

We lived in a family room but that was only an ordinary room where they have pressed in five beds. No closet so we had to have all our clothes in the bags. They didn't clean the room so well. The carpet looked awful and was very dirty. There were problems with the sink in the bathroom and we had to request help for that for three days before they finally solved it. So my opinion is that the family rooms are not to be recommended.

Incredibile. Comunque a parte quest'ultime cose, buon albergo per chi rimane a Londra per alcuni giorni.

This is a cheap hotel and it is nearly more that you can expect for the money. I wrote that the quietness of the room was only "4" - the reason is that the walls are very thin, we could hear the noise when the guests next to us came home in the evening, but in fact is was not a big problem. We would without any doubts stay here again when we are going to London next time.

We were quite satisfied with this hotel. Just a few minutes fron the Victoria Gate to Hyde Park and Paddington station. Oxford Street is also in walking distance. Clean and comfortable, recently refurbished. The buffet breakfast was of the continental type. The only strange thing was that we had to provide all credit card details when checking-in, which could be easily misused!!But there was no other option, so now we just hope they won't use it...

Reception staff were very efficient and helpful. The room alocated to us was adequate for our one night stay although we were alocated a double room despite requesting a twin. the room was tired looking, shower was excellent. looks like part of the hotel has been refurbished. breakfast was limited choice but as much as you wanted, cereals, toast, drinks. if everyone trys to have breakfast at the same time the small dining room can become crowded. overall great value for a short stay.

There was no lock on the outside window nowhere to make coffee other than the floor, We asked for a double . Hotel was NOTHING like the website makes it seems. The website looks cute and fresh, very misleading! The building is very old, with paneling and paper coming off everywhere, very old decor. When we arrived, the condition of the room was terrible, our window was held up by a used water bottle, the toilet paper holder was broken, the light was burnt out. The hotel offers no extra service at all and the staff is not helpful. On the night we arrived and realized our light was out, when we went to reception we were told it didn't matter since it was night and we'd be going to bed soon and that no one would be there until the morning to fix it anyway. When our room was cleaned each day they'd skip things like the mugs we used for coffee. When checking out, we were running about 2 minutes late, but when we got there they had already given the *one* room key to the housekeeping lady, who we had to search the whole hotel to find to get into our room. Unless you're lucky enough to stay on the ground level, the hotel has tons of steps and very small hallways, not good for getting luggage around at all. The breakfast consisted of white or wheat toast and one of two cereal choices and that's all. And the room it's served in is extremely tiny. Worst of all, the hotel very likely has BED BUGS! These are a horrible pest and not something you want to deal with on vacation or risk taking home with you. I would not recommend anyone stay here. Yes, I realize it's a budget hotel, and I did not go in with high expectations at all, but this was a horrible experience. The only decent thing about it was the free wifi access, but even that was unstable. It is relatively close to Paddington station, but there are dozens of other hotels in the area.

I was really scared when I read about the hotel AFTER I booked for it on Net. First I wanted to cancel the reservation, but the price and the location (5 minutes walking to Hyde Park or Paddington Station) determined me to go for at any risk. We are 3 adults and stayed 14 nights at a very low price for Zone One in London, in July and August 2008. We had a triple room with a double and single bed, refurbished, nice looking, very clean, with no wardrobe, but with air conditioning and flat screen TV (TFT). The bathroom was a little too small, but new, clean and functional. The windows were old, not sure, and I thing the noise could penetrate through, if the room had been placed to the street. All the staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The only animal protein was one egg at the „Continental Breakfast”, but with toast, butter, jam, tee, coffee, orange juice, milk and 3 kind of cereals, a little crowded after 8.15. We really enjoyed this hotel.

It was a terrible place, and the staff was very unfriendly. Rooms are little and not clean. WARNING: We had to pay 5 Pound for EACH piece of luggage to keep it, because our flight was in the evening!!! That is outrageous and not common at all in London! For 5 Pound they didn’t even have a luggage room. We had to bring the luggage to the breakfast room, where our luggage was unattended! I would not recommend this place. The room was larger then other I stayed in London, but it was very old, walls and ceiling without plaster and with crack. Some water dropped on our bed from the ceiling at a certain point, but after we told to the reception they resolve the problem and changed the linen. However the B&B is in restructuring and I hope they'll finish soon because the structure, worker and location are nice. At last ... cause restructuring it's impossible sleep at morning after 9 am ... for us wan't a problem because we had to leave the room, but for a long stay could be annoying.

Very good location however room was very small and definitely not value for money. (I would hate to see properties cheaper than this one.) We had a triple with a double and single bed and two people could not pass each other in the room. Bathroom needs renovating badly. My interpretation of an English breakfast is eggs, bacon, sausages etc, NOT cereals, toast, boiled eggs and slices of cheese! Power wall socket in room was not secured properly and was health and safety concern, as was the linen and bedding stacked up in hallway near the downstairs fire escape. Photo on Venere website did not reflect the standard of room we stayed in. Staff were friendly and assisted when called upon.

Hotel interiors were a disappointment to us. First we were put in dark and tiny room in the basement with insufficient light. We had to ask for another room upstairs. The hotel badly needs refurbishment especially the wallpapers in the rooms and the ceilings are a nuisance - The style and space already reminds you that you are in a very old building but by looking at cracks on the ceiling and crumbling wallpapering you get the feeling that the building is very close to the end of its life cycle which is not too comforting. The stairs are just too steep and narrow for the baggage. We were told by the web offer that the hotel offers English breakfast. This is not true - they offer American fast breakfast extended with toast/hardboiled egg and cheese slices. The breakfast room is a pain -- just can not accomodate as many guests as they put on. The breakfast time is between 7-9 which is also very restricted. During the rush time in the breakfast room its feels like squeezed in a crowded metro wagon. We gave up the breakfast in the hotel and took up the habit of dining outside, there is a nice little sandwich bar abt 150 yards up towards Paddington station that offers CHEAP and good English breakfast. Service is fine and fast there. Abt the wireless internet -- I could not hook on that local network and they proomised to notify me when the IT man is there so I can consult but they just forgot to call me. We had to ask twice to get new towels one day and our old towels were gone. Not too nice.

London is a very expansive city, so I understood that they follow their peers. However, they could improve a bit in cleanliness of rooms, put simple and light floor instead of that old colourful carpet and curtains, would be nice to customers and easily to clean. Also a small lift - for two people as I saw in Paris - mainly for luggage and elderly people. Staff are really helpful and welcome.

Hello! I am Julia from Russia who stayed 5 nights at the Linden House. The location of the hotel is perfect, quite close to a number of underground stations and the Paddington station from which it took me less than 20 minutes to get to the Heathrow airport. Close is Hyde Park and Kensigton Gardens which were in full spring bloom. There were small nice gardens around as well. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Sometimes it was a bit noisy outside - my room looked out a street, but the periods were short. I would recommend the hotel to all kinds of visitors.

Terrible hotel. Horrible standard, dirty, extremely dusty and did not get room confirmed over the phone in advance.

Great location and front desk staff very friendly and knowledgable. Rooms need updating but were clean. Although they claim to be non-smoking, we could smell smoke in the hotel, especially from the vent in the bathroom. We were 4 women on holiday and always felt safe in the area. Tube 2 blocks away - convenient. Would stay here again and recommend to others. Good value for the price.

I stayed many times at this hotel, which was recently taken over by new owners. They are very friendly, just like the former owners. However, it is a pity that they don't do English breakfasts anymore. The rooms are very small, the location however is excellent.
