Nice place, very close to Paddington station of train and tube for ALL the directions. Located in a beautiful quiet tree boulevard. Some bar and restaurant are close.Night bus from Victoria station stops here for travelling when tube is closed. Room small but sufficient for a short stay (3 nights) in London and clean. Good balance price/service compared to London hotels. Next time I will return. Breakfast is an extra.

Come niente fosse...

The internet didn´t work in my room. The breakfast didn´t include in the promotion price and they charged my credit card in 4%, when I pay!!! The single room is small and it´s possible to listen what our neighbors doing in the room beside. But the location is very good.

This hotel is almost as advertised, except that you can't tell the real space of the rooms from the web photos available. The staff is very kind, helpful and capable and the only real concern for me is the rooms were not quiet at all, I listened even to the walking that happened in the upstairs room. Overall, the expected for the price, very clean rooms, but I have to enphasize they are very, very small.

After reading other guests' comments my boyfriend and I were a bit wary. But after arriving and seeing the hotel room and location we were 100% relieved and content. Room and Bathroom were very clean. Room was small but the price is so good how can you complain? If you are sharing the room with your partner, it didn't cause too many problems. Plus the front desk was open 24 hours so you didn't have to worry about what time you came in at night. Very close to tube station.

I have stayed in the hotel for two nights,it's only two mintues walk to the nearest tube station, I'm content with the room I have got,the bathroom was samll as I expected, the room was clean which is the most important thing that I concerned about and the price was a real bargain.

We were going for a cheap hotel while in London, and got what we paid for. It was about 35 pounds per night. The rooms were small, but clean, new towels every morning, a hairdryer was supplied for my wife, and we even got a TV. The lack of A/C wasn't fun(we were there in July 2006, record heat for london). I did like the location and the staff, a bar on either corner, well worth the money.

We were in London for shopping, Christmas presents and some sightseeing. The location was okey; we used the underground a lot. The hotel could use a general renovation, and first of all the shower who was not nice.

I was travelling to london for just 5 days and I wanted a clean and neat and nice place to stay at,and since I travelled before I stayed at many 3 star hotels and I can say that this place was 2 and barely half star hotel! When I arrived I wasn't welcomed to the place at all and I had problem finding the room. The room was not clean the mattress of bed was very dirty god knows if they changed ever since the place began to work!!although good thing was they changed the blankett everyday.I had a single room and the room was very tight and small but ok.the bath was okay also. The carpet was very dirty. The rooms were very noisy, specially my upstair room were a couple and in the middle of the night they realized how much they love eachother and I was forced to wakeup and listen to the the sound of their lovemaking progress!! so I Couldn't even get good sleep that night. Staff were not helpfull at all , one of the guys didn't know the neigbourhood at all, and as a first time tourist I had to figure everything out by myself losing the limited time that I had. I asked for something for a couple of times and they didn't provide it to me and I was forced to buy it at the end ! If you ask me if I stay there again I would say no ,I prefer to try any anyother hotel but this. For the money I payed I am sure you can find a good 3 star hotel that is far much more comfy and cleaner and perhaps staff are way too helpfull . All the bad things I saw at one side and the joy of visiting beautifull london at the other side.

family holiday, booked family room, room very small and carpet very stained and dirty. staff were very nice and helpful, breakfast was good value and plentiful. situated in quiet street 5 min walk to Paddington station, plenty bars and restaurants around. rooms need refurbishment, but other than that, would recommend this hotel for quiet family stay, and price was not overly expensive for london.

I was travelling alone so it didnt matter so much the quality of the room, but though it was small it was okay. My room was close to the entrance, and I was only using the room at evenings and nights. I think the price was a bit high compared to the facilities, but I spent some time before I ordered the hotel, so I dont think that I would have found something much better at that price.

The hotel and the rooms are old but all right. The really bad thing is the old carpet on the floor in the rooms. It really looks ugly. It’s easy to see that the beds are used. The breakfast is great, also the breakfast room.

Based on being located in London the price and hotel was a bargain. However, in lesser size cities this would be a 2 star not a 3 star hotel. The rooms were well maintained, but needed new carpeting and bed spreads. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped but water pressure in the shower was very poor in the upper floors. First floor room shower pressure was fair. Breakfeast was very good and met the standard of any hotel we've visited in any city or country. The location is close to the subway (Tube) and railway station. The staff were very good and friendly. This hotel is a good base of operations for taking in the many venues in London and then resting up for the next day activities. We would stay in this hotel again.

I had entered a comment on my booking application which I thought was very clear but was not understood by either yourselves or the hotel staff. Anyhow, I got what I had booked and paid what I had booked for so no problem there. Also I think the hotel rooms plus the public area in the hotel could do with refurbishment, or painting and new carpet at a minimum. We found the rooms to be a little too hot even though when we were there the weather was cold and rainy. We enjoyed our stay the hotel staff were extremely hospitable. I would probably book there again if I was going. I hope my Irish lesson with one of the staff worked out well for him!!! Many thanks

Hotel is OK, breakfast was above average for 2-3 stars. There is another Gresham Hotel close by which is close by that is four stars and quite elegant, and some websites mix them up, so when people arrive at this one they are very disappointed as they were expecting better, so there a lot of poor reviews for this hotel. It's not a brilliant hotel but not a bad one either. Their big failing for me was that the bulb was gone in the bathroom and despite me telling them 6-7 times over my 3 day stay, nothing was done about it. So in summary, I have stayed in better 3 star hotels and some two star hotels are better, but I have stayed in far, far worse....

Bearable, if you intend to spend most of the time out in Central London. Our room was very very small not at all like the photographs. We were charged a higher price than what was quoted on the website. The staff lacked awareness, I asked where the London Marathon finish line was, the response was 'Sorry, I don't know', and no other suggestions or assistance were offered. I was repeatedly asked by different members of staff whether I had paid for the room or not, on the phone and in person as a passed in and out of reception, which I found quite embarrassing as I was treating for a friend's birthday.

We informed in advance, in the reservasion that we'll arrive late. I also checked, by a phone call, in advance, that the reservation was accepted by the hotel, and repeated that we'll arrive late. Nevertheless, arriving at the hotel late at night we found out the a room is not waiting for us, due to double-booking (well, that was the satisfactory explaination that was provided by the night clerck...). Most fortunatly he could find a singl and a double room for us so we did not have to sleep on the couch, and we received the reserved family room only the day after. This room was in a basement, below the street, with a window that looks onto the pavement (from below) that you can not open, but let you hear well the street noise. The cutains on the window (essential- to prevent street-walker from peering down at us) were torn. So were the bed covers. All blankets were stained and dirty, as was the carpet (which was also torn). No plug in the bath (unavailable in the hotel) allow only the use of shower- but lack of proper screens makes a flood out of every shower. When we asked for extra bed-sheets to cover the stains on the blankets we were refused, with the answer that they do not have spare... It goes on and on, I'll spare you the details. In your site it is written that this is a 4-star hotel (!!!!!), well, they did not display any certificate that they are approved by any tourist authority, and I wouldnt rate them for one star. My advice for anyone who is looling for an hotel in London is to avoid that one.

My reservation was messed up. I got there and there was no reservation under my name and me and my companion were assigned different rooms for one day and next day had to change rooms again. Never quite what I wanted room wise (double twins beds as opposed to one double bed.) Other than that missunderstanding, everything else was wonderful.

We made reservations a significate date in advance and received confirmation. After traveling many hours and some 7000 miles, then walking several blocks, with luggae, to your hotel, we were informed there was no room for us, that the hotel was overbooked. we produced and showed the desk staff our confirmation and were given no help whatsoever. We were given no help and no assistance locating accommodations. We wound up walking down the streets looking for another hotel. We are completely dissatisifed and turned off by the experience and hope only that future travelers are not treated as poorly as we were.

Great deal for the price. Rooms are small, though. Maid still cleaned room even when I specifically asked for it to be left alone - as well as hanging the sign on the doorknob. Light in bathroom didn't work all of the time. Heating system worked well. There is a television, but only 5 channels, some of which are blurry. Wasn't sub-par, and was worth the money, but don't let the list of ammenities make you expect more.

The Gresham was marketed as a 4 star hotel which is definately not what it is. I had a number of problems with the hotel, the main one being a blocked fire exit on the basement floor next to my room. This was noted as blocked on arrival on the 12th March and was still blocked on the Saturday morning (13th)at 0800. I reported this to reception but by 0930 the blockage (supplies and an arm chair) had not been removed. When I complained to the same receptionist at 0930 about the same problem she informed me that she was unable to leave the reception unattended to clear the blockage. I pointed out the seriousness of the problem and demanded that she get the duty manager immediately to clear the obstructions. The supplies were removed from the fire exit but the arm chair remained albeit repositioned into the corner of the exit but as far as I am concerned the chair was still a trip hazard. I shouldn't have to point out the dangers of a smoke filled corridoor, panicing guests, somebody tripping over this chair causing a blockage in the fire exit. As far as I am concerned the Gresham are breaking the Fire Safety regulations and my intentions are to inform London Fire Brigade about the problem and suggest they pay them a visit. Other small problems were a broken shower door, no plug in the sink and the room we stayed in was directly below reception which because it had a hardwood floor transmitted all footsteps and noise into the bedroom below. I would not recommend the Gresham to anybody else staying in this area. The Gresham management should take a long hard look at themselves with regard to complying with Fire Regulations and the training of staff to comply with these.

It's not a 4 stars hotel!!!!!!!!!! And booking in Internet doesn't mean you're stupid: the employees tried to give us a horrible room. Therefore, they ask for money 5 seconds after our arrival at the hotel and not at the end of the stay as specified in the web pages

We had booked and paid for a double room. The room we got quite frankly should not be sold as a double room. The bed was not a full size double and in order to access the bathroom one side of the bed had to be pushed against the wall. Even then, when opening the bathroom door, it hit the side of the bed. A stool serves as a bedside table. We did ask if there might be a slightly larger room available, but were told that all the rooms were the same. I would question this as the website quite clearly shows a larger room. The room on booking was shown as a superior room. I saw nothing superior about the room we were given. That said for the money we paid, and convenience to tube station I guess it could be argued we got what we paid for. However, it would have been much nicer not to have had to climb over my partner every time I wanted to get out of bed !

Good value for money at £79 for a family room midweek. Hotel was generally fine. Not far from Paddington so quite good for getting around. My main complaint is that the shower did not work and there was no plug for the bath! After some arguing and delay the staff agreed to let us use the bathroom from another vacant room. In total there was a delay of 1 hour. Also, reception wouldn't call us a black cab - they tried to get us a private hire car (these are often a rip-off in London as the driver can pay the hotel a kick-back)

Hello, I am glad you sent me this review form.Firstly the hotel does not deserve a 4 star maybe 3 at best. They charged my partners credit card for our stay on arrival then the day after we had left chargred my credit card which was supplied when first making the booking online for a another day. After numerous somewhat heated disscussions and 8 days later the money was creditted back into my account. They also tried to charge us 7.50 for a 15 second not answered call also 19.50 for another 30 sec unanswered call their excuse for the mistake was that they have no control over the phone and that BT( british telecom) sets their actuall motel phone, highly unlikely I would suggest. The room was so small the dbl bed just fit, the bathroom stank of sewerage. I was so upset. We stayed at several other motels around england all of which were less expensive and far superior in all areas of hospitality. I am sure it is illegal to keep credit card numbers of people after they have vacated and more so to actually charge their account after they have paid on arrival and left. I do intend to report this hotel to appropriate authorities as there were too many mistakes making their actions seem on purpose rather then accidently. Regards, E.Lesser
