I had booked a double room a few weeks before arrival .On arrival 1.50pm we where told room was not ready until 2pm,fair enough we left luggage{1 case} came back at 2,30 we where then told that they had a twin room for us or a smaller double, we said we take the double as we had booked. we had a meeting to go to and where short on time by this time they could not find the luggage! we explained where it was taken to and then found. this is more than we can say about the room, a double bed against the wall facing another blank wall window was around corner facing another wall there is more but to be honest fawlty towers came to mind !

We came to London in heavy rain, and we had no problem to check in early. Very good service, and a good start for the stay. The room was small, but not very small by London standards. The bathroom was adequate, with a shower, but no bathtub. Breakfast was served in a way to small area, with only 6 tables of which 4 were for 4 persons and 2 were for 2.

The location is really great but... Paint was missing in one corner of the room, and the breaksfast were just a shame, the worst we ever had in any hotel even less starred: paper bags with plastic-wrapped, old croissants and plastic bowls for very small packages of cereals; too small, and terrible; We were not allowed to the general breakfats room as we had not chosen the buffet formula the regular breakfast... Considering the price it is just not acceptable. Staff in real charge not always present; so it was difficult also to complain!!!

Ours is a family of 4 with two teenagers, yet we had a very spacious room (at least by London-standards). The Hotel has an excellent location with 5-10 minutes leisurely stroll to public transport. The hotel has a much higher standard than other hotels at similar prices and was overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

This is the best budget hotel I've ever stayed at in London. Rooms/shower/bathroom were small, but that's just part of the London experience. I felt like I got an amazing bargain for a very clean, quiet, cozy room less than half a mile from the tube. Will definitely stay here again. Don't book cab rides from the hotel desk though; there's a minor premium for that. For instance, schedule with the desk and it's 7 pounds for a ride to Paddington...hail the same ride from the street (and taxis aren't hard to find) and it will be 5 pounds. Breakfast was included and staff was helpful...I definitely recommend this place. Nothing at all like some of the horrible little $100/night places I've (blindly) stayed at before.

Been to London several times but years back. Stayed on 5. floor in room for 4 persons/beds. In general a good room, bathroom was small but worked. Staff was very helpful and kind. In general a very good hotel compared to price so very good value for money. Hotel close to tube, central London and Paddington Station with access to Heathrow Express. Would definitely recommend hotel

The size of our triple room was excellent for London and for the price. The only negative was that the extra bed prevented us from opening the wardrobe door. This hotel is great value for London, staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was generous and fresh.

As usual the description and accuracy of everything on the Venere site was perfect. The rooms are a bit small by North American standards but perfectly usable for a sight seeing vacation. Location is outstanding, very close to railroad and underground stations. Walking distance to Hyde Park and Oxford shopping. Many excellent restaurants in the area. We recommend you use the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and walk down Craven Hill Road to Leinster Gardens ( 10 t0 15 minutes ).

The location is very convenient for visitors wishing to have access to nearby multi national supermarkets/restaurants/shopping stores. The room is clean and quiet but rather small as expected for London. Overall, we highly recommend the hotel for the price you pay in London, which is a very expensive city to spend your nights.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. Rooms very small and shabby. On the first night we were in the basement which was disgraceful, but the one good point is that the receptionist was very helpful and moved us for the next nights. We also got a small discount (although I don't think we would have got it if I hadn't made a fuss)

It was ok to stay in this hotel. Every morning we talk about; how to tell about the breakfeast-room...it has this sound, i dont now how to describe it on english, this hard sound. And we also think that this must be hard for the people who work there...and a little smile had also helped from the staff in breakfeast room(maybe it was the sound of the room that causes the spareness of smiles), it would be the exstra maybe...? We generally are satesfied, friendly in the recepsition...sorry..its along time since i write in english..many wrong words..sorry.. i dont remember. Hope you understand me.. We maybe com back:-) Thank you!

When we arrived, we were told that our double room was unavailable and instead we were offered two twin rooms. To compensate us for our trouble we were given free breakfast cards for the morning which the morning crew refused to acknowledge and kept saying that we weren't on the list for breakfast. It's a cheap hotel. The neighborhood is fine. The rooms were fine. But I would never go back.

Generally speaking, it is a good and friendly hotel, where we would like to stay again. But - and that is why my rating is not better - we got an absolutely substandard basement rooom, small, looking out on the laundry-bags and noisy. We had booked well in advance, so there was no reason to give us this room. The reaction to my complaint was, that they were fully booked and it costed me a lot of talking, until they gave us a better room on the 1st floor the next day. That room was nice and worth the money . So make sure you do not get a basement room - room numbers starting with a 1. Breakfast is good and - unlike some comments I read here - the breakfast-room was not to small. I wonder - why do hotels often try to give you a bad room and trust they get away with it - or do not offer such rooms for half the rate? If I were not an experienced and self-confident traveller, leave alone spoke little English we had spent all the time in that bad basement room.

Where to start. Very hot day. Fridge didn't work. Iam diabetic needed to put my insuline in cool place. Fridge couldn't be repaired or changed before my departure ( 2 days later). No elevator. I was on the 6th floor with a bad heart condition, Risk of a heart attack everytime I climbed to my room. Had to skip breakfast because I was afraid to go up right after. My insuline I had forgotten in the room after check out, was trown in the trash ( a metal syringe called Novopen!!). instead of beeing brought to the reception. Had to spend 2 hours in emergency at nearby hospital to get an injection. Found out just before leaving the hotel that there was a room available on the ground floor ( aparently kept for emergencies) all the time I was there and finally the manager ( absent for the 3 days I was there)never reacted to my letter explaining all this.

BEWARE Take your earplugs, our room was on the lower ground floor so all street noise audible also walls paper thin - so we heard every noise the neighbours made!! Room tiny it was only just possible to walk around the bed. Trying to pass a room like this off as a double a disgrace. The kettle had a European plug and no adapter and we had to go to reception and pay 5 pounds deposit for an adapter to have a cup of tea. Two good points - the breakfast was great and the location brilliant.

Nice, efficient hotel, friendly staff with pay-for-access WiFi. Not far from two metro stops and a short walk to Paddington Station. Only drawbacks are: (1) noticed the safety certificate of the electric plug in my bathroom expired in 2006; and (2) the lift was "being repaired" during my stay - which in this case meant a maximum of two people could ride at a time. I just mention in case the lift is still "being repaired" six months from now. Otherwise, great location, quiet street around the corner from a small high street.

It's quite difficult to find a good bedroom in London for a good price. We've tried different hotels in the last 3 years and this is the best we've found. The room is clean with a good bed and a new bathroom with a cabin shower. The room is quiet and the heat is just fine (it was January and it was warm enough inside). We slept very well. The departure day we left the luggage in a cloakroom for free. To sum up we had a very pleasant stay.
