We stayed already several times at the Crestfield. Price is good for central London, rooms are clean and have everything you need and last but not least the location is ideal for a city trip. We are happy coming back!

We have been given a room on the top floor, the room was really small and not really for two people. Once arrived, we have been "welcomed" if so I can say form a girl that seemed to be from east europe, that was really unfriendly. the day before to go, I've called and asked for wi fi availabilities. They gave confirmation but once there, there was no wi fi into the entire hotel, and no one could help on that. The position is ok, but I would not return into this hotel.

This hotel is situated in what was once a formerly downmarket area of London, which has since been cleaned-up and made very safe by the arrival of the channel-tunnel rail link at the newly-refurbished St Pancreas station. The hotel is ideally situated just across the road from the main underground rail hub of kings-cross which can get you anywhere in central london within fifteen minutes. The hotel itself seemed very clean and well-organised for the price range. The rooms were adequately spacious and the shower-room was positively luxurious compared to some of the london hotels we've stayed in. This hotel is ideal for someone on a reasonable budget looking for a clean, simple - but very central base for exploring London. My only gripe was the rather half-hearted breakfast arrangements of toast and coffee. But with more than enough McDonalds and cafes nearby, this shouldn't be a problem. The hotel is even gaurded by a freindly terrier called Jack who relaxes at the front door. All in all a pretty safe bet for the average london traveller.

The room was nice and quite clean, and the toilet seemed like it had been recently renovated. Although, there was no heating in our room, and since we stayed in the ground floor (or cellar), the room was moist and too cold. Perhaps other rooms in the upper floors would have been better.

The hotel is situated insemi-central zone og London but it's easily reachable by underground or coach. The rooms aren't big but however confortable and it are cleaned everyday with attached exchange the bedding. The breakfast is continental. This hotel is advised people who haven't many much demand.

The only good thing about this hotel is the proximity to St Pancras Station for an early morning departure. Dirty stained walls and roof and disinterested staff.

Small and ok hotel with perfect location opposite King Cross/St. Pancras station, which mean you can take the subway directly from Heatrow (less expensive than other means of transportation). Fair size rooms, but small and worn bathrooms. Continental breakfast inkluded in price, contain toast, cereals, coffee and juice. Well kept backyard with seating and tables, bar serves 24h. Good choice for travellers on budget.

We stayed at Crestfield on two separate occasions in June. The hotel was clean, quiet and very welcoming; we were completely charmed by the owner's old, friendly dog welcoming us at the door! Staff was very nice and friendly throughout our stay. There was a distinct downside, however; the advertised breakfast was VERY poor quality. In addition, on our first stay, we got a small and cramped room on the 3rd floor, with an old, noisy (but comfortable) iron bed. On our second stay we were pleasantly surprised to get a ground floor room, which was a LOT bigger and FAR more comfortable! A pleasure to stay in! This hotel is good for a quick, easy stop-over stay, but not for long-term visits. Recommendations: Request a ground-floor room in advance, and skip breakfast. There are many places nearby to buy food; take some back to the hotel and have a picnic in the back yard! :-)

Decent hotel at resonable price for London. Great location, easy access to almost everywhere by tube or bus. St Pancras international station is within 2 minutes walk, so the train is also v accessible. Excellent places to eat close by, for any taste, from McDonalds to typical London pubs, at reasonable price. The room is small, like any inexpenssive hotel in Europe's capitals. No regrets.

The room was little, but clean and enough for having a good stay. Breakfast was without luxury but right. Location is good. Hotel is beside Undergroud's King's Cross station and Saint Pancras railway station, that is the arrival for trains from Luton airport. King's Cross is also an important point of bus lines. British Museum is about 20 minutes by foot. And there are several pubs and restaurants not far away. Good relation between price and quality. Suitable for a week-end in London.

We stayed for a whole week in a 4 bed room together with our 2 boys. We enjoyed our stay and we fully recommend the hotel since the location is perfect as St Pancras is a few steps away and there is plenty of buses and taxis also. Places to have meals everywhere, supermarkets, and the surrounding area is so safe that my boys had no conflicts in going in/out by their own during the day and even in the early night. The whole installations are very nice, with a pleasant decoration and the room was in perfect conditions. The sheets snow-white as well as towels. The breakfast was very well served. We really spent a happy week in this hotel and we fully recommend same. If we ever return to this magnificent city, there´s no doubt we will stay at Crestfield Hotel.

The Crestfield Hotel is located next to Kings Cross station, so its easy to take the underground to any location in central London. The rooms are very small but clean and fully equipped with TV, coffee, tea and with bathroom. For a romms ensuite the price for London is really reasonable. Breakfast was also included but was a bit poor, toast and jam and some cornflakes. In general if you need a room to make trip to London for some days its a good choice.

This was a great hotel in a great location for the money. Very convenient to tube. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. Apparently the norm in london though is that you have to pump the toilet to flush. You have to pump a lot though here. Skip the breakfast. The offerings were limited and the dishes were dirty. With this price you can afford to grab a bite elsewhere.

The hotel is near to King's Cross station, so that you can easily go in the London center with the Tube.It is located in a calm street, if you're hungry Mc donalds is in the same street and you can sleep deeply without worrying about anything, a nice dog is guarding the hotel ! It was the first time we stayed at hotel Crestfield and it was clean, nice and quite cheap if you compare to other hotels in London. A good place to be if you stay some days in London !

The management was great, and very responsive. The breakfast staff, however, was abrupt and not responsive. I thought breakfast was served until 10:00; I got there at 9:00. When I tried to eat I was informed, rather bluntly and with force, that breakfast was over at 9, and I should have been there at 8:45 if I wanted to get served. I ate elsewhere. Otherwise, the location is perfect for using the Tube, and there are lots of places to eat close by. Room was very comfortable and clean.

THERE IS NO LIFT!!! All rooms are upstairs and the stairway is VERY narrow. Once the luggage is to your floor you will find there is not enough room for your luggage to sit on the floor, choose between: luggage open, laying on the bed, standing - you can have any two but not all three! Aside from this the location is awesome, quick walk to the end of the block to the underground, or McDonalds. At night the street looks unsafe but no problems. Perfect room if all you do is sleep and then go. Also the bathrooms are the smallest I have ever seen. I'm in the Navy and been on submarines so I know what crampt quarters are:) TV has 7 channels, but only one came in clear.

The Hotel Crestfield is directly across the road from King's Cross, so it's a perfect base for a sight-seeing trip. While it is fairly basic accommodation it is comfortable and has a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a nice little courtyard with picnic tables and I liked the fact they have a dog. (If you don't like dogs don't worry - he doesn't make any noise or bother guests.) The room was small but it was well laid-out so it didn't feel cramped. One side of the bed was a bit uncomfortable, so if there are two of you and you really need a decent bed I'd check with them when booking. The shower was decent and there was hot water whenever I showered, morning or evening. The loo was separate which I liked and it was very clean. The room had tea-bags, coffee, a kettle & uht milk. The tea & coffee in the room was grand, the tea & coffee served at breakfast was pretty horrible. Breakfast was cereals, tinned fruit cocktail, orange or apple juice, and white sliced toast. I'm a bit picky about food and if you are I'd recommend skipping breakfast and going to a café - there are a good few close by. All in all I'd definitely recommend this hotel. I think it's good value for money, I had a very pleasant stay, and I would stay there next time I go to London.

Our stay in the Crestfield was not pleasant to say the least. Whilst the common areas of the hotel had been modernised the same could not be said for our uninviting third floor room with its warnout and minimal furnishing which didn't even include bedside lamps for reading in bed. Our stay was during a hot spell and the hotel offered no method of cooling what so ever, one of the 2 windows was jambed shut and no fridge in the room. This hotel doesn't have a lift so we had to climb up and down 6 flights of narrow, stuffy stairs. Quality of the breakfast available was very average to say the least and didn't include "the delicious buffet breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes" as stated on venere.com. The only thing that the hotel had going for it is that it is close to St Pancras/Kings Cross Station.

This is a very nice little hotel. I stayed in room 35 which was a single with an en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the room was small but bright, the window faced out to the street so it was a bit noisy, but I tend to sleep like a log anyway. The breakfast was fine with cold cereal, fruit, juice, toast with jam and butter, coffee or tea. Just enough to get you on your way. Overall a nice stay with very good value. The location was great, just steps from Kings Cross station.

On venere.com it says about Crestfield Hotel: "Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, toast, cereal, tea, coffee, orange juice and apple juice, served in the breakfast room from 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m." That is bullshit, a total lie! The hotel was clean, the beds small but comfortable, it's half a block from the King's Cross underground, about a block from St. Pancras station and the Eurostar to Paris. The staff was friendly - we had absolutely no problems. I understand that some rooms are very small, but we had a room with 2 twin beds, and that helped. On this trip to London, I stayed at the Crestfield on my own dime (65 BPS), and at the Park Lane Sheraton paid for by my company (220 BPS), and was only marginally more impressed by the significantly more expensive hotel. The Crestfield is not swanky, but perfect for my purposes (to be near St. Pancras in a hotel that would be acceptable to myself and my mother). The winding stairs would be difficult to navigate with suitcases for some.

I have stayed in many cheap hotels over the decades, but this was the wrost. The staff is incompetent at best, thieves at worst. They tried to charge my credit card in dollars, even though I requested pounds. 'It is automatic,' both the clerk and owner insisted. Luckily my card would not accept it. After arguing and about 8 attempts, they tried pounds. (In other words, they were lying.) The charge went through at once. Later I checked the charge on my card, and their exchange rate was over 5% worse that that given me by my card. Baisically, a noisy, smelly flop house. Spend an extra 10 pounds and go elsewhere.

Just make sure that, next morning, they don't try to charge your credit card with double of what you're supposed to pay!

Bathroom and toilets in the same room and really small. The hotel is well situated : one minute from King's Cross Station witch is served by a lot of tube lines. The price is really correct for London and the rooms are clean. It's a shame, the breakfast is poor (no choice and no quantity).

------------------------------------- The Hotel is very clean but with small and raw rooms(even if that's normal in London). The receptionists are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is based on coffee and milk (or tea) and jam. The hotel position is great, near King Cross Station. After all well-recommended for its price/quality ratio.

The rooms were clean and the service was o.k.. The information about the hotel, the comments and good ratings of other guests aggreed with that what we found. In this price range you will seldom find a better choice. But a slice of cheese or salami would enhance the "continental" breakfast.

The rooms are small but clean. There is enough privacy. Breakfast is poor and has always the same menu. The hotel is near from the tube station and from the center of London. It is a good hotel for tourists looking for a simple, civilized accomodation at a good price. It is ok if you are more interested to walk out, visit, travel than staying in.

Even the hotel was well located and service was good, we found out at the time of our arrival that Basic Room (U$S100.00) meant to share a bathroom between 4 rooms (around 8 people). We requested another room, spent 2 nights on the basic one, 2 nights on an En suite one (w/ private bathroom) after that the hotel had no more space for us so we started to look for another one, spent a night on a 2nd hotel and the rest 5 nights in a good one a block from Crestfield. I suggest to explain to the American travelers what they get for the money spent.

I stayed in a double room with ensuite. Although compact, rooms were clean, employees friendly and the price is good. So overall thumbs up. Will go there again when staying in london.

Hi everybody! First of all, I have to say that we looked for an affordable place to stay in London, which doesn`t seem to be easy. Our room was 60pounds per night for a double-room ensuite. Unfortunately, the breakfast was included. The breakfast was the worst piece of crap you could ever imagine. There is slices of toast only, honey and 5 kinds of jam, that all tasted the same. Also, there is great bowls of cereal. Haven´t tried that, but it didn´t look very fresh. You can opt for tea or coffee. Breakfast is from 7.30-9.00. Five minutes before nine the lights in the very meagre breakfast room will go out as a sign that breakfast will be finished soon and you should better leave now. Do not make the mistake to ask the breakfast ladies anything: I asked them very politely whether we could have some toast and her answer was "sit down and wait". That´s probably the most annoying thing about Crestfield. Everybody there is totally unfriendly. That´s what I really hated about that place. Else I would consider coming back. The location is great if you want to travel a lot. It´s no more than 200m from King´s Cross and St. Pancras, where no less than 6 tube lines intersect. Even better for visitors from continental europe, the Eurostar will terminate at St. Pancras as of Nov 2007. So that´s great. On a positive side note, if it wasn´t for road construction works that just happened to take place during our stay, it is rather quiet in that street, although the main road at King´s Cross is really close. Well...the room was as tiny as they come, but we didn´t wanna spend much time there anyway, so that was okay. The room had a color TV (five programmes) and a kettle, which was nice. The bathroom was less than 2m² (I swear), but for a couple of days that was acceptable. The walls seem to be made of paper, you could hear very well what was happening in the adjacent rooms. After all, we could recommend Crestfield for people that do not have high expectations.
