We had room n.3 in the palace opposite the reception. It was really clean, and quiet but so small! By the way, we are people "size zero" and we stayed well. We had the keys of room and main entrance all the time, so we were really free. Also the breakfast room is too small even, and we had to wait our turn, but breakfast was good, english or continental at your choice. Man at reception very kind and helpful. Wonderful location next tube and train station, you can reach everything in London and neighbourood. Try the North Sea Fish restaurant in Leigh Street, just near the hotel. At my experience, I think that 10 pounds less for the rate will be perfect relationship price/quality.

Good Quality/price ratio considering this is very well located near St Pancras station in London. Clean room but small. Ok for tourism but no facility such as desk, chair or anythink you might need if you want to work or just look at your mails.

Rooms are really small, but if you're out all day and you just need to sleep somewhere, it's OK. Expecive as whole London. It's really 100m away from King's Cross tube, so it's location is great!

Location is good. Just few step away from the tube and railway station(eurostar). Breakfast is fine. Room is clean but so tiny. No space for suitcase and you are even unable to turn around your body inside the toilet. If you want the "convenient", it is a good hotel.

We only stayed one night, and left before breakfast, as we had an early Eurostar to catch. We had a family room for the four of us, which was very small, almost no space between the beds, but perfectly clean and comfortable, and the shower was superb. The young man on reception was pleasant and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Room clean but small, good english breackfast, very very close to 5 underground line and 2 railway station. quiet street. Room very simple but confortable. Very small sink. In the downstairs room you heard the background noise of the tube (it didn't disturb). We'll return to central next time

I stayed with my wife in London for 3 nights, and it was great, Central hotel was the most adequate price/value hotel I found to be near King's Cross/St Pacras Station (This was the reason we stayed there, as we were leaving to Paris on the Eurostar later). A note of advice is that there is a Central and a "Fairway" Hotel in front of the central managed by the same people. The fairway is also a nice and fairly clean hotel (I stayed in a single room there before) and it was the best I stayed compared to others that I went to, but it seemed a bit older and perhaps not as clean and spotless like the Central Hotel. so book at the Central. We got a triple room. The room was spot clean, except the Water heating jar was really rusty and corroded. Other than that, it was great, If you're a couple carrying much luggage it's better to book a triple room,is not too expensive and it's roomy enough to stay comfy. Staff Attention was great, I read that the people were not too nice, but in our stay they were really helpful. The english Breakfast is good enough to start the day. Bottom line: This is London, expect everything to be small and roomy enough to fit :) I spent some days in 2 or 3 other self named "hotels" in the area and they were a mess: dirty, too small, and damn expensive. Central hotel is the way to go if you want to stay comfy near King's Cross/St Pacras. Thank's a lot to the staff and keep it up.

My husband and I stayed in london for 3 days (2 nights) for holiday. We chose the hotel on the basis of peoples'comments and category (3***).I do not think it can be compared to the same category in Italy, but on the whole it was nice, very close to the metro station and quite confortable(but pls note that we booked for a triple room as it was the ONLY was indicated with private bathroom). So the price we paid might be quite high.

I stayed at Central Hotel with my girlfriend for 3 nights in september 2008 and really enjoyed the place. The room was a bit smallish, but clean and nice. Nothing too noteworthy really, but for an okay price. Personnel wasn't remarkably friendly or helpful, but did an ok job. They answered my questions and were flexible with leaving luggage in the lobby when we arrived early and left late. Breakfast was quite good. Complete, fresh and quite a plateful. But the most excellent quality of this venue would definitely be the top location. Tube station King's Cross is conveniently located just around the corner and makes all of Central London very easy to reach. The British Museum is also a short stroll away. I would definitely recommend the place to friends and family, mostly because of the location that makes getting to all the sites so very easy.

The room I booked was exactly what I got. I had read all the reviews and they were quite helpful. I was sent to the Fairway hotel across the street which belongs to the same owners and the room I got (no.12, 2nd floor) was small but exacly what I needed. The WC was tiny but clean. They cleaned my room every day and gave me fresh towels too. Breakfast was OK. The English breakfast consisted in an egg some beans a sausage and bacon. There was also ham and cheese plus cereals and 2 slices of toast. They gave us orange juice, milk, coffee and tea. The ladies in the breakfast room didn't speak very good English. Everything was small but adequate. The location is fantastic, just across the street from the subway and railway Kings Cross. Nearby we could find many fast food restaurants and a very small grocery shop. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again. And I will use Venere once again to book since I had no problems whatsoever and the reviews were extremely helpful ... even the negative ones.

The room was pretty small but it was enough for us because we were there only to sleep, the rest of the time we were outside. Except from the size of the room, it was nice : clean & recent. Same remark concerning the breakfast room, too small so we had to wait a few minutes but once at table, the food was good, and not too small at all!!!

Room was small, the bathroom is just a little bigger than the bathroom in the airplane. The room was newly painted and they let us use it immediately which we had a hard time sleeping because the paint smell was so strong. There were even some used lights that was left in the bathroom maybe by the electrician. good point theres free wifi. breakfast didn't even try it. but my companion said it was very little. pillow was nonexistent.

- Room n°31 stinked. - Breakfast room is so small. We had to wait untill a table was free (happened 1 out of 2 days). - Location in Argyle Street is both very quiet and very close to King's Cross Station (main rail + underground station). British Museum is within walking distance. I'll definitively choose this area again next time.

We did not sleep at Central hotel, the guy from reception send us (after an hour of waiting for room) to building across the street... I do't know, maybe it's normal in UK. The room was clean and quiet, but very very very small - but what could you expect for 75 pounds a night.

I think this hotel should improve the following things: 1) room was not so clean and we found a water boiler very dirty inside; 2) breakfast place was very little (just three tables) and breakfast time was too early (7-9 a.m.); also it was very stinky and smoky, since each breakfast flavours was inside the room; 3) it's not admittable that 5% was charged on my bill caouse I payed by credit card..we are in 2007 boys! I recommend the Central Hotel to single travellers on a budget. For the price I was paying, I expected the room to be very small and it certainly was, but it had everything I needed, including a hand basin and TV, the bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and quiet at night and you could open the windows for fresh air, which I liked. The bathroom downstairs was very clean and I never had to wait to use it. The English breakfast was excellent, served very quickly and there was plenty of good quality food. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. I had heard that Kings Cross isn't the nicest of areas, but the street that the hotel is in is fine and I felt comfortable walking from the Tube late in the evening. It did not seem like a bad area to me. It's only about a minute's walk from the Tube entrance, so it's very convenient. I will definitely stay there again.

In the Central Hotel it was almost impossible to have a hot shower. In seven mornings we only had hot water twice and if you were the first to have it, of course. Cold water is healthier than hot one, but I would prefer having a cold shower in July or August. Thank you

Quiet and small B&B in the heart of King's Cross (not 10-years ago King's Cross!!!). Little more than 50 metres to King's Cross/St. Pancras underground station, a Burger King in front of the hotel and a Mc Donald just behind the corner. The location is perfect for all transports throughout London. Rooms are really small (too small, maybe only the one where i stayed) and cozy, the moquette was so dirty (what a pity!) but the room is cleaned up every morning. The shower was great (so big!) and the towels are changed daily. I really enjoyed the breakfast (said by an Italian!), the coffee was amazing. The taxi to the Victoria Station (if you have to take the Gatwick Express) costs £13, plus £2 for each luggage (i took the taxi about at 5.00 am). Well, i'll definely book here again if i have the chance to get again to London!

We were on the top floor, facing the back of the building so there was not much noise. The main bedroom was ok, was getting a little tired and could do with a re-decorate but it's a budget price so I didn't expect the Ritz. However the 'Bathroom' was very (very) small, the shower cubicle needed some repair work on it, there was tape covering the grout lines, and it looked like it had been there a while. Even for a budget property this wasn't very good, and would not have cost much to recify.

Allover it´s okay. We had a room in the souterrain and we heard the Tube. It´s an advance to have the tube that close, it can be a disadvance! We´ve been quite exhausted from running thru this big, big City, so we didn´t mind the noise of the tube. All in all we would take a room again at the Central Hotel. The Breakfast was okay and at least the room was clean and big enough for two travellers.

The location is perfect and very central - and with a friendly staff. The rooms are not very spacious (to put it mildly) but this was not expected either (based on price and information on website). All in all - if you look for a VERY reasonable priced accomondation in London and do not expect facilities other than what is nessecary to get a good nights sleep and a central location - then Central is the place!

Colazione abbondante, sia all'italiana che all'inglese.

The hotel is undergoing rennovations - when I arrived, they were finishing the lobby floor so felt I had walked onto a building site. That said, my room looked recently painted, with new carpet and the en-suite newly fitted. Room was very clean, small but fine. As this is Kings X, the room was noisy - ambulances arrive at the nearby hospital through the night but I couldn't hear trains. I had a choice between closing the window (good double glazing to block out noise)or fry, as the heating was full on and the room was like an oven. Breakfast was good - bacon, egg, beans, toast. This is London budget accommodation - for £35 per night it was very good value - I wouldn't have expected much more.

The relationship price/quality was ok for London, the bathroom was clean, breakfast good, we got new towels every day. It was not very luxurous but if you want to visit London for some days without paying a lot I can recommend this hotel. The location is central, with Kingscross Underground Station just around the corner. The only inconvenient was the noise level, you can hear everybody passing by and we heard the Underground (our room was in the basement).
