We are seasoned travelers who understand star ratings & hotel classes. Also understand (generally) EU rooms tend to be small; staffing at times less than perfect. But this was by far the worst hotel my fmly has EVER stayed in. Value? I paid less for a HUGE full suite at Embassy Suites Waikiki (including full bkfst & internet). Booked/confirmed triple rm; 3 adults. Called hotel as a friendly reminder & ask for nicest poss rm - fmly getting together after 6-mnths separation. "Suhail" said no problem. Arrived @ nite to find "triple" was 3 single beds in what MIGHT have been a small double, about 10' x 20' (had 2 glasses, 2 towels, etc). Lumpy, uncomfortable beds; Barely room to walk between beds much less ANY rm for luggage. Voicing concern to reception, they were rude and barely consented to (maybe) finding a "real" triple next day. No refunds or reductions. "Email us" they said in Russian accents - even the so-called mgr, the rudest. (Had we known this was foreign-owned, operated, & catered to certain sects, would definitely not have booked it. (Security clearance issues.) Winter & cool outside; but rooms stifling. Open window helped, but outside noise ALL NIGHT was horrendous. Heard every footstep, every conversation, every car. Inside, doors slammed, hallways echoed. No place to store luggage & no late checkouts. Late flight out? Too bad. Their suggestion was "take your luggage to Paddington station where you can buy storage." We were not travelling thru P-- station. Bkfst NOT included in price (as is elsewhere). 5.50 Euros for stale breads, cereal & shot glasses (yes!) for juice + coffee or tea. 8.50 for "Full" bkfst which paled next to those we had in Italy & Paris (also 3-stars but way nicer). Restaurant staff just as rude as Reception & "Concierge" - actually just a desk clerk supervisor; never really met a tru manager. We were hoping for (at least) a british atmosphere, but found NO Brits in the hotel at all. A pub down the street served pretty good fish/c

There is no room for luggage, and ÿou must use left-baggage"services on the Victoria station. They charge £8,5 per piece of luggage for each 24 hour. The wi-fi at the hotel is outrageously expensive. The windows of the ground floor rooms have not option to open and air of the room can not be refreshed. Very small rooms, but clean. We asked staff to print our boarding passes for our morning flight, but they refused us. I do not recommend this hotel.

First rip off: there is not a private parking (as written). Hall porter (japanese origin?) very impolite. First night we didn't sleep because of a terrible noise due to the electrical system; they didn't change the room. After two nights we changed hotel.

The hotel is in an extremely convenient location and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. These, I would say, are the only advantages. I've stayed for a week this time and stayed two other times in the past two years. I'll never book this hotel again. The rooms are extremely small, no space even to move a chair. Most of them have no central heating, you're given a little heater to warm it up (which is dangerous and awkward to use). The bathroom is small, the linen stinks. There's always noise in the corridors and you need earplugs to sleep, most of the times. Worst of all is the reception and concierge services. Staff is unfriendly, does not answer most queries, does not provide any maps, does not make phone calls for your reservation of a cab or other. The breakfast hall is horrible. For the same price, I would recommend other hotels, some of which are in the same area.

Excellent location just by Hyde Park, two blocks from the underground, walking distance to shopping at Oxford street. Great value for money. The only inconvenience was that the hotel does not have a place to store your luggage, so if you check out by 1pm and want to leave your stuff somewhere before leaving for the airport in the evening, the hotel staff's advice is to leave it at the nearest train station's storage facilities.

The hotel room was spacious and clean. the bathroom very clean and spacious. They put a kettle and some coffee and tea, which is very useful when you arrive late at night or early in the morning. Breakfast is not included in the price and has to paid daily before taking it. Very near to two tube stations. I would definitely stay again in the hotel.

My personal disappointment at the reception, especially when you chek out, we traveled to several European countries in towns and cities attending hotels of various categories, we have never encountered staff so irritated by questions from customers. The assigned room was obtained without any windows in the basement of the hotel: claustrophobic!

I had a very good impression of this hotel as far as cleanliness, surroundings, prices are concerned, until on checking out I discovered that the hotel doesn't have an area where to keep one's luggage while spending one's last hours of holiday around the city. For a tourist this is an unacceptable disadvantage. I don't think I will go to this hotel again. I can't even recommend it to anyone.

Well located and room relavitely OK though very small and above all very noisy. Nothing to do as due to very "light" construction. As often in the UK, they should appoint a permanent plumber to maintain basic equipment in the bathroom : washbasin fully blocked ! Overall 5 by London standards but 3 max per international standards !

This was my first time at Central Park. The hotel was kind of disappointment. Although the location of the hotel, spaciouness of my room and the room price were ok I found three minuses. First, the breakfast was not included in the hotel price. I ordered traditional English breakfast (£7,50) and it was not close to average I have eaten. The basic breakfast seemed to be very poor. Then, the soundproofing of my room was non-existent. I could hear everything from the room next to mine. And finally, there we no locker room at all. I had to drag my luggare to Paddington station. The cost of one day storage was £8.

The Venere Website description corresponds very well to the reality. The hotel is located in a quiet street but room walls are unfortunately not very thick. So the noise consequences depend on your neighbours attitude ! As for the total cost, the hotel should propose a "continental" breakfast included in the price of the room or a special one for children : if you don't eat jam or cheese, you pay 5 pounds for it anyway ! However, I will recommend this hotel for short stay in London.

The hotel is not as bad as the reviews. May be the staffs were a little bit unwelcomed. But all other things were very nice. Perfect location, clean room, suitable for a quick 3-4 days stay in london. Not a place for romance getaway though. Didnt have breakfast in the hotel so i cant comment on that. However, there are many places to have breakfast with 10 mins walk. Room is not soundproof !!! U can sometimes hear clearly people talking outside ...

Good location, close to public transport (buses + underground). Room was clean and big enough. Breakfast was OK (but English :o)) If you would like to get a quiet room, choose a twin bedroom, they are located on the more quiet side of the hotel. The only negative remark is the lack of luggage room.

Room cleanness and quiteness good enough for London standards, while the room was far too small. Excellent location. Good price/quality ratio, though the breakfast should be included in the rate in my opinion (otherwise not recommended). ATTENTION: On checking-out I was charged with as much as 1.50 £ for “service charges” for each telephone call attempt made by using my prepaid international card (Columbus), even if no connection with the free number of British Telecom was provided for. It is the first time I experience such an inconvenient, in spite of my extensive travelling all over the world. All calls via Columbus card are free, no matter whether connection is provided for or not. I think it unfair and dishonest. Spoiled my overall judgment on the hotel services.

During my whole 3 weeks in England and Scotland, this was the priciest of the hotels we stayed in and was probably the least value for the money, but given that prices in London in July are high in general, this was to be expected and fit in with my budget. The location was perfect for our needs of sightseeing and we were only in the room at night. Breakfast was not included but was available for a nominal fee. The room was small but clean and adequate. The concierge was not as knowledgeable about the area as one should expect. Still, our overall experience was fine and I would recommend the hotel with these notes.

It is the only Hotel that do not allow to leave the languages after check out. This was extremely inconvenient since we spend 1,5 hour to go to Paddington station to leave the luggages for 8 pounds each. Moreover, since I complain the reception told me to ask the concierge, but it was just to joke me. The rooms were nice, but extremely small there is no space to leave the cloths.

I was told that the complimentary "continental" breakfast was not included in my price and was required to pay an extra £3.50 for this. It appeared that I was the only person at breakfast who had to pay and even the lady collecting the breakfast tickets was surprised, but the reception staff were adamant that I should pay extra. I think that the £70.50 quoted for the room per night is already on the high side. Breakfast was in itself disappointing: watered down orange squash and poor quality bread rolls. I was in London during a heatwave and the bedroom - facing south - was like a sauna. since there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, it meant I had sleepless nights. There have been changes at this hotel since my last stay some two years ago and I am not encouraged to return.

Perfect location. Just 2min walk from Queensway station (3min walk from Bayswater station). At least two bus lines stop nearby (<1min walk) that pass through Oxford Str and Marble Arch. Hyde park is just 50m away. The road the hotel is situated on is quite of traffic. In general the whole Bayswater area is quite. Although the hotel seemed to be full, no noise was heard from other rooms or even the corridor outside. Staff was polite and helpful. Only one pillow per bed was available, but when asked for extra, two more pillows were delivered to our room in just a few minutes time even though it was a bit late already (22:30) Haven't tried breakfast nor the bar, so no opinion here. Upon check-in I was asked and agreed to be charged the whole amount of the stay. No problem with that since we were intending to stay anyway! Breakfast vouchers were available separately if we wished. During check-out, the person at the reception told me that we had to pay 9GBP extra because they charged me wrong upon arrival. As I had the receipt, the charge was correct, but apparently they had entered the wrong value in their logistics (actually 2 numbers in the wrong order). No big deal, the credit card receipt sorted this out in no time. Rooms could be more spacey for a 3* hotel but they are the usual size for London. Just a note however. The rooms have no air conditioning and the heater seemed not to obey my wishes to turn off, so beware if you visit London during a heatwave! It was hot! Oh, and the curtains should have a way to close completely and seal the light, because the sunlight got into the room way too early as it was summer and sunrise was around 0530! Get some cloth hangers with you and use them! One last thing. Better have your own shampoo and shower soap or buy from the nearby market, as those provided are inadequate. Would I recommend it? Yes, mostly because it was clean, quite and at perfect location.

The bed was terrible, I am not speaking of a slightly uncomfortable bed here: any camping bed would have been better. No '3 star' hotel should let anybody sleep in one of these. Needless to say that we slept badly; when reporting the issue, I was asked to explain the reason why the bed was so bad and told that this would be investigated... After investigating the matter we were moved to another room (not upgraded mind you nor were apologies made by the otherwise nice enough staff). I do not recommend this hotel despite its great location.

The position of the hotel is fantastic in a wonderful area but the room was very very small, the toilet was even smaller, the shower was broken with water going everywhere. At arrival, the girl at the reception made a big mess with our reservation and payment and, although the check-in is from 14:00 as written on the hotel site, we were told our room would be ready only after 15:00 (we arrived at 14:10). I have been to many hotels in my life but this is the first one I have experienced that does not allow luggage store although they have a lot of space for that. Thank God when we left we talked to a nice girl at the reception who helped us to set the right payment. As I said, the location is fantastic but all the rest...

Great location, 5 minutes from Bayswater Underground station. Also the 148 Bus (both stops are 3/4mins from hotel) is very handy link for Victoria Station. Paddington very close too. Vibrant lively interesting area with lots of places to eat or grab a coffee. Hyde park is a joy. Great access for everything. Initial impressions (in the lobby) are good. But this hotel is very far from 4star quality. Perhaps, in rooms out of my budget. But that doesn't excuse the overall unnecessary annoyances. More like an up market 2star. We were given a room with NO WINDOW for our first night. The bed was metal framed a sort of temporary/mobile contraption. We had to remove the base and place the mattress on the floor for comfort. Our second night we were put in a room where peanuts were left on the carpet beside the bed. There was obvious damp creeping around the window. All night there was an incessant irritating unlocatable buzzing noise in the background. Again when we woke. We arrived back after 1am and were greeted by our fellow guests banging on the paper thin walls telling us to stop making noise. Even though we were only chatting. There is a basic five channel TV service. Some Islamic language channels are also included. NO SKY NEWS (only at the bar) NO CNN or BBC World. Some electrical sockets worked some didn't. One fridge worked the other didn't. No minibar. No water or biscuits for potential late night travellers. Some sullen staff with disapproving glares. Coffee and tea facilities were basic but enough. It has all the potential of a perfectly positioned budget hotel. That any establishment like this can claim 4stars just because it has concierge service is a joke. Bayswater great area. Do research all accommodation in the area. But be sure to ask "does my room have a window?"

The breakfast was not very good and we were better off going out. The staff as barely competent. They did help us on a couple of things but in most cases they were useless. We used their car service to get to the train station once but we found we were better off hailing cabs at half the price. And don't get me started about the bed bugs. They switched our room but I'm still squirming thinking about it.

The hotel staff was very nice and the rooms are not too bad. Yes they are small but they are comfortable and cozy. They even give you a safe where you can keep your valuables. The area around the hotel is great and provides easy access to getting around. Overall, I felt my stay was great and worth the money you pay for it.

The room wasn't big, but clean and with everything needed. The overall stay was great considering the position and the reception opened 24 hours. Great deal for a few days in London.

Very Good Hotel, clean rooms, very quiet in a central location at an excellent price. I didn't like the hotel breakfast, but in the neighbor there are plenty of Bar and Coffe shop. I'll stay here next time I'll go to London.

Great place with reasonable pricing, perfect located close to Hyde Park but in very nice and quiet surroundings. Close to major facilities, and also to public transport. Surprisingly big room to be in London, and also with a very fresh bathroom. Overall a perfect place to stay in......

A perfect hotel for a stay in London. I've used this hotel before, and will definetive use it again. Around the corner on Bayswater Road there's a place called The Pizza Factory, and they have lovely english breakfast and pizza and pasta in the evening. Highly recomended!

Central Park's location is the one good thing about this hotel. Its near restaurants and the tube. The Heathrow express is only one stop away on the tube. The hotel is accessible to everything.

Excellent hotel, situated near the north-west corner of Hyde Park (50 mt from the park!), and near 2 underground stops (really 3-4 minutes by feet from Queensway and Bayswater, with shops and supermarket). The relationship from quality and price is very good, because it's a real 3 stars hotel at the price of a 2 stars, expecially if you don't forget to be in London! Clean rooms (actually a bit narrow) and new towels every day, furniture almost new and no noise from corridors. The breakfast is not included in base fare, but for 3P you can have a generous good international breakfast (buffet), for 5P the english breakfast. Unfortunately they have a very bad coffée! Unique bad aspect: some of the receptionists are really hateful. But anyway, absolutely recommended!

It's a cramped block of cells with very little character or comfort. I know most hotel rooms in London are on the small side but my room was exceptionally small and not exceptionally cheap. The area is nice and the hotel is not far but certainly not centrally located as the name implies.

Our stay at the central park was i suppose ok. on first impressions it was so small you couldnt swing a cat in the room it was tiny. the bed was like a cell bed and for some strange reason when you lay on it your feet were up higher than your body,it was not comfy at all after the second night my back was killing me. if you had a big weight problem you wouldnt have a hope of using the toilet, the bathroom was so small. the main door to our room wouldnt lock properly so at night we put our suitcase in front of it a fire hazard i know! the view was of bricks that was about it but the one thing it has is a great location we went for a concert in hyde park and we could walk to and from very easily so 10/10 for location. but in the end you get what you pay for.

Do not get a room that faces the street-side of the hotel. The noise lasted all night!! Room was fairly clean but with 3 beds it was NOT spacious. Location was great. People at the front desk were VERY impersonable nor were they very helpful at all. The Concierge was the better of the 3 however he was not very understandable since his English was not very clear. Since the US dollar is not very good at the moment the quality of the hotel vs. the price is not very equitable!! I think you could do better!

Very nice reception, however, very unprofessional staff who did not know what they were doing. Rooms very small but OK for a weekend away. Breakfast poor quality/choice with the breakfast police being over zealous at best. Not the standard I expected from a London hotel but bearable for the price and location for short trips. Would not repeat the experience.

This hotel is ok to stay in, it is near Queensway tube station on the central line which makes it very convenient for exploring London. The pubs near by close at 11.00 so we were caught a few times on the way back to the hotel but there is a nice bar in the hotel which was good. The rooms are adaquate, basic but were comfortable. They could be a bit noisy, mostly doors opening and closing. The contenental breakfast was very poor, bread rolls, jam and coffee. There was a cooked breakfast available for £4.00 but it did not look very good. I did not see the family rooms but there were people there with children of various ages. We stayed for four nights and overall I would recommend it as the price for the hotel is really good value and the location is great

We arived at 10 AM,and it's normal to enter in the room at 12 o'clock but the room was not ready till 15.00 PM. And we where there with 2 friends of us, our room was "ok" but the other room... Surprise !!! There was no BAD in the ROOM !!! The room was in real renovation. We came down to the reception and in the end we recived another room. The only good thing about the hotel was his situation over the map of London, verry veryy good position. But in my opinion is one star... 1 + 1/2 maximum !!!

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago as well, and then i thought it was a reasonalble value with all the inflated london prices. On this trip the hotel was the same price, but it had been totally renovated! This hotel must be the best value in all of london, the rooms are clean and nice and the price, while not cheap, there are no cheap hotels in london, is reasonable.
