Overall not much to complain about although the cleaning crew was extremely unprofessional. Sign "do not disturb" on the hall side of your door does not count in this hotel. Plus they were up since 8 o'clock am and being as loud as if in a market or something. Receptionists quite unfriendly too. Tube connection wasn't really good either.

During my whole 3 weeks in England and Scotland, this was the priciest of the hotels we stayed in and was probably the least value for the money, but given that prices in London in July are high in general, this was to be expected and fit in with my budget. The location was perfect for our needs of sightseeing and we were only in the room at night. Breakfast was not included but was available for a nominal fee. The room was small but clean and adequate. The concierge was not as knowledgeable about the area as one should expect. Still, our overall experience was fine and I would recommend the hotel with these notes.

It is the only Hotel that do not allow to leave the languages after check out. This was extremely inconvenient since we spend 1,5 hour to go to Paddington station to leave the luggages for 8 pounds each. Moreover, since I complain the reception told me to ask the concierge, but it was just to joke me. The rooms were nice, but extremely small there is no space to leave the cloths.

I was told that the complimentary "continental" breakfast was not included in my price and was required to pay an extra £3.50 for this. It appeared that I was the only person at breakfast who had to pay and even the lady collecting the breakfast tickets was surprised, but the reception staff were adamant that I should pay extra. I think that the £70.50 quoted for the room per night is already on the high side. Breakfast was in itself disappointing: watered down orange squash and poor quality bread rolls. I was in London during a heatwave and the bedroom - facing south - was like a sauna. since there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, it meant I had sleepless nights. There have been changes at this hotel since my last stay some two years ago and I am not encouraged to return.

Perfect location. Just 2min walk from Queensway station (3min walk from Bayswater station). At least two bus lines stop nearby (<1min walk) that pass through Oxford Str and Marble Arch. Hyde park is just 50m away. The road the hotel is situated on is quite of traffic. In general the whole Bayswater area is quite. Although the hotel seemed to be full, no noise was heard from other rooms or even the corridor outside. Staff was polite and helpful. Only one pillow per bed was available, but when asked for extra, two more pillows were delivered to our room in just a few minutes time even though it was a bit late already (22:30) Haven't tried breakfast nor the bar, so no opinion here. Upon check-in I was asked and agreed to be charged the whole amount of the stay. No problem with that since we were intending to stay anyway! Breakfast vouchers were available separately if we wished. During check-out, the person at the reception told me that we had to pay 9GBP extra because they charged me wrong upon arrival. As I had the receipt, the charge was correct, but apparently they had entered the wrong value in their logistics (actually 2 numbers in the wrong order). No big deal, the credit card receipt sorted this out in no time. Rooms could be more spacey for a 3* hotel but they are the usual size for London. Just a note however. The rooms have no air conditioning and the heater seemed not to obey my wishes to turn off, so beware if you visit London during a heatwave! It was hot! Oh, and the curtains should have a way to close completely and seal the light, because the sunlight got into the room way too early as it was summer and sunrise was around 0530! Get some cloth hangers with you and use them! One last thing. Better have your own shampoo and shower soap or buy from the nearby market, as those provided are inadequate. Would I recommend it? Yes, mostly because it was clean, quite and at perfect location.

The bed was terrible, I am not speaking of a slightly uncomfortable bed here: any camping bed would have been better. No '3 star' hotel should let anybody sleep in one of these. Needless to say that we slept badly; when reporting the issue, I was asked to explain the reason why the bed was so bad and told that this would be investigated... After investigating the matter we were moved to another room (not upgraded mind you nor were apologies made by the otherwise nice enough staff). I do not recommend this hotel despite its great location.

We suggest to order a twin room, even if you travel as a couple. Twin rooms are located on the slightly "louder" side towards the road. But they have almost twice the size of rooms with a double bed. Would choose this hotel again upon my next stay.

The position of the hotel is fantastic in a wonderful area but the room was very very small, the toilet was even smaller, the shower was broken with water going everywhere. At arrival, the girl at the reception made a big mess with our reservation and payment and, although the check-in is from 14:00 as written on the hotel site, we were told our room would be ready only after 15:00 (we arrived at 14:10). I have been to many hotels in my life but this is the first one I have experienced that does not allow luggage store although they have a lot of space for that. Thank God when we left we talked to a nice girl at the reception who helped us to set the right payment. As I said, the location is fantastic but all the rest...

Great location, 5 minutes from Bayswater Underground station. Also the 148 Bus (both stops are 3/4mins from hotel) is very handy link for Victoria Station. Paddington very close too. Vibrant lively interesting area with lots of places to eat or grab a coffee. Hyde park is a joy. Great access for everything. Initial impressions (in the lobby) are good. But this hotel is very far from 4star quality. Perhaps, in rooms out of my budget. But that doesn't excuse the overall unnecessary annoyances. More like an up market 2star. We were given a room with NO WINDOW for our first night. The bed was metal framed a sort of temporary/mobile contraption. We had to remove the base and place the mattress on the floor for comfort. Our second night we were put in a room where peanuts were left on the carpet beside the bed. There was obvious damp creeping around the window. All night there was an incessant irritating unlocatable buzzing noise in the background. Again when we woke. We arrived back after 1am and were greeted by our fellow guests banging on the paper thin walls telling us to stop making noise. Even though we were only chatting. There is a basic five channel TV service. Some Islamic language channels are also included. NO SKY NEWS (only at the bar) NO CNN or BBC World. Some electrical sockets worked some didn't. One fridge worked the other didn't. No minibar. No water or biscuits for potential late night travellers. Some sullen staff with disapproving glares. Coffee and tea facilities were basic but enough. It has all the potential of a perfectly positioned budget hotel. That any establishment like this can claim 4stars just because it has concierge service is a joke. Bayswater great area. Do research all accommodation in the area. But be sure to ask "does my room have a window?"

The breakfast was not very good and we were better off going out. The staff as barely competent. They did help us on a couple of things but in most cases they were useless. We used their car service to get to the train station once but we found we were better off hailing cabs at half the price. And don't get me started about the bed bugs. They switched our room but I'm still squirming thinking about it.

Excellent hotel, situated near the north-west corner of Hyde Park (50 mt from the park!), and near 2 underground stops (really 3-4 minutes by feet from Queensway and Bayswater, with shops and supermarket). The relationship from quality and price is very good, because it's a real 3 stars hotel at the price of a 2 stars, expecially if you don't forget to be in London! Clean rooms (actually a bit narrow) and new towels every day, furniture almost new and no noise from corridors. The breakfast is not included in base fare, but for 3P you can have a generous good international breakfast (buffet), for 5P the english breakfast. Unfortunately they have a very bad coffée! Unique bad aspect: some of the receptionists are really hateful. But anyway, absolutely recommended!

our stay at the central park was i suppose ok. on first impressions it was so small you couldnt swing a cat in the room it was tiny. the bed was like a cell bed and for some strange reason when you lay on it your feet were up higher than your body,it was not comfy at all after the second night my back was killing me. if you had a big weight problem you wouldnt have a hope of using the toilet, the bathroom was so small. the main door to our room wouldnt lock properly so at night we put our suitcase in front of it a fire hazard i know! the view was of bricks that was about it but the one thing it has is a great location we went for a concert in hyde park and we could walk to and from very easily so 10/10 for location. but in the end you get what you pay for.

Do not get a room that faces the street-side of the hotel. The noise lasted all night!! Room was fairly clean but with 3 beds it was NOT spacious. Location was great. People at the front desk were VERY impersonable nor were they very helpful at all. The Concierge was the better of the 3 however he was not very understandable since his English was not very clear. Since the US dollar is not very good at the moment the quality of the hotel vs. the price is not very equitable!! I think you could do better!

The pubs near by close at 11.00 so we were caught a few times on the way back to the hotel but there is a nice bar in the hotel which was good. The rooms are adaquate, basic but were comfortable. They could be a bit noisy, mostly doors opening and closing. The contenental breakfast was very poor, bread rolls, jam and coffee. There was a cooked breakfast available for £4.00 but it did not look very good. I did not see the family rooms but there were people there with children of various ages. Nevertheless I will stay at this hotel next time I-m i London, but only if I get so afforable price that I got this time. :-) The location is very good.

I had an endagreement on internet at 1200 pund but the hotell vanted 2300 pund and sayd that the internet price was not correkt. Then I wonder how can know the price if the internet price is not correkt. I believe on the internmet price. After a debate with the desk personal I got the price at 1200 pound

For London the price and what we got for it was ok. The location is excellent and what was promised online we got in the end. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately I found I cockroach in the bathroom and it seemed that nobody had bothered for months to clean under the bed (found used tissues and tablets under there)

Excellent hotel in London. The best I've stayed at so far. The only thing that wasn't so good was the breakfast, this can become much better. But I will choose this hotel again.

I had stayed at this hotel for 3 days in a triple room. The room was extremely small with very little space around the beds. There was no access to one of the windows in the room unless we climbed over the bed. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel. The location is great - close to the Tube and bus stops. Very convenient to get to Central London. Enjoyed Hyde Park as well.

Although the hotel was in the process of being upgraded this did not cause a problem. The new card locking system means that too many clients slam their doors, which is a nuisance late at night. I was given assistance over a couple of matters by the hotel manageress who dealt with these promptly and efficiently and with a smiling face, which always helps! At last I've found a London hotel with a decent-sized bathroom and comfortable bed. The somewhat basic continental breakfast is included in the room price; a cooked breakfast is available but seems expensive. The hotel is convenient for buses, tube and railways and there is a good variety of shops in nearby Noting Hill.

* Map to hotel is useless. I walked circles for about a mile before locals could direct me better. * Front desk was fine and courteous. They spoke English well. Not sure what others were referring to in other comments. * I had to call a couple times to get my lock open and my refrigerator fixed and NEVER receveid a response. * The lady in the breakfast area was as rude as someone can be. I sat down when I arrived in the room and the lady first of all made me put back eggs that I put on my plate (as it's not included in the breakfast) as there was no sign what you are allowed to take and what you are not. Then she asked me to move to another area by stating "this area is for lunch. You saw me setting it up and you sat here anyway". Like somehow I'm supposed to know which area was designated breakfast and which was for lunch. What a joke. The breakfast you were allowed was toast, bread and cereal. There was nothing else like fruit. * The room was pleasant, but small as expected. The walls are quite thin so you can hear others next to you. There is no A/C but I didn't particularly need it. * Basically it's a place to stay when you are touring London. It's close to the big red bus tour. Enjoy.

Dear Mr.Mrs On the 04.09.07- 07.09.07 I was viseting your hotel and unfortunatly it was unjoyable spending time there. I wasent pleased that the renovatsion jobs in the hotel made our stay more difficult. Sometimes the light didnt work then in the coridor there was always dusty. In our room there were taracans, bugs. And the air conditioning didnt work also in the rooms. I think it would bee more than fair that your hotel would pay me back atleast half of the price we payd for. Yours sicearly Veera Levitsky

Perfect choice for a week-end stay in London. Room was extraordinary spacious for a Hotel in London and very clean. My room was recently refurbished. Location just perfect near Hyde Park and Tube stations & Buses nearby. I had a good comparison as I had to move to another hotel the week-end after my stay, since Central-Park was fully-booked the other weekend. So I pretty much know also about "bad" Hotels in London, but Central Park was just perfect.

Nice clean and wonderfully located hotel a few steps from Hyde Park and the Underground. Very good pricing especially in light of extremely high prices on hotels throughout London. We are worldwide travelers and have stayed in a wide range of hotels. Without question we would return to this hotel!

This was the first time that we stayed at this hotel. The communication with staff was problematic as very little English is understood. Staff quite rude! Renovations underway which makes it very noisy! Breakfast not up to standard.

The telephone operator working the late evening shift on June 28th and 29th was quite rude and unprofessional. My husband was calling me from the U.S. but the line got disconnected several times during our conversation. We complained to the operator about it, but the operator's attitude was very bad and inpatient. We wish that didn't happend. Other than the incident above, our 3 day stay in this hotel was pretty good. The hotel is very close to tube stations, restaurants, stores, and a park. The continental breakfast is ok except that you have to pay 5 pounds for any meat or eggs.

Perfectly located, pleasant staff, nice big rooms, easily accomadating 2 adults, only minor problem was in morning could too easily hear lots of activity. But def worth the money and def will re-visit. Public areas got a bit of a low due to the fact the place was been revonated at the time, however they were bright, airy and pleasant and I would guess will look better with the make over.

As far as finding a cheap, yet quality, hotel in London, this place was nice. The room was a bit small, but that's what I expected. The staff could have been friendlier, but overall the hotel was a pleasure. I was a bit worried that it would be a dump, but it was nice, despite the construction. I would recomend it!

I was very impressed with the hotel for being a budget accomodation. The staff was very professional and checked us in early, and allowed us to stow our luggage until our room was ready. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was roomy, clean, and modern. We had a large bathtub, which was nice. The hotel is located a very short distance from tube. Breakfast is served downstairs in the basement, and it is really well organized, with lots of tables to sit and enjoy your breakfast. I would recommend this hotel, and I would stay there again.

i have used this hotel before. average rate of 45-50 pounds per night (single)+access to baywater+access to metro+access to hyde park, etc, etc. this hotel is hard to beat. overall clean and reasonably quiet.anything other than room is plus plus. even free-calls are charged as a ridiculous rate. would i pay in excess of, say, 60 pounds per night? probably not as there is plenty of competition. hotel is being refurbished; so i suspect will be the tariff. but,as they say in the classics: location, location, location. regards jb

Ausgezeichnete location nahe Queensway tube station (central line) in Bayswater.

I travel often to London and this is the best hotel I've ever tried! We were 2 adults travelling with a boy aged 7 and found the hotel a good choice for cleanliness, quiteness and good service. Location is very good, very close to Queensway Tube station (central line 8 mins in West End), good for buses, Kensigton Gardens and Hyde Park just 2 mins walk away and best of all you are in Oxford Street in 30mins walking. Excellent to do in a sunny day. Good quality for a reasonable price considering the London standards'.
