It is shameful in 2009 the hotel does not provide free wifi internet access. Even hotels in the smallest villages in France, Spain, Italy provide this standard service free of the rip off charge that was asked.

I booked an executive twin which ended up being much smaller than the photographs suggested. The shower recess in the refurbished bathroom was minuscule even for my petite size, and it was a challenge not to flood the bathroom each time the shower was being used. The room was also very hot and stuffy despite the fact that the outdoor temperature was very cool. However, the hotel location was very convenient, breakfast was quite good and staff was pleasant. The concierge, in particular, was very friendly and helpful

pay attentions to the traffic officers: we were fined by the officer while we were unloading our laggage in front of the Hotel: there weren't any advise from the hotel staff of "this kind of attitude" of officers against the guests of this hotel. the fine was of 60 pounds!!!

the rooms are as small as it is very often mentionned in the comments written about this hotel so no surprise. It is particularly well situated in London, near Kensington Gardens and close to the underground and to several bus lines. Very convenient to easily move around from a pleasant place. I did appreciate also the electric kettle in the room ! VERY good relationship between price and quality. Information not given on the website : they keep 20 £ as deposit if you pay cash till your departure. They are also two interseting exchange offices close to the hotel : one in teh same street, one close to the underground station.

The bathroom was really small, the ceiling very low and the sink was in the room. Generally speaking, the staff was friendly, but one night I asked my room's keys at the desk in the hall and they were missing. The person there asked me more than twice if I really left the key there, and when he had no other choice, sent a waiter with us in order to open the door. The waiter asked me again if I really left the key in the hall and he suggested I threw it to the litter!! This made me feel really angry. Finally the key appeared the night after, and they told me it was in the reception all the time.

Staff at Blakemore is extremely professional, businesslike. They hardly smile when offering their help to guests and each time we had a request it was like they were annoyed by our interrupting them in their work. This is the only thing that, as a tourist, we have perceived as unsatisfactory: they do not seem to be very customer-oriented, but rather work-oriented. Is this a new trend for staff in the tourism business?

We had read some comments about both the cleanliness and size of the rooms. Our biggest concern was whether or not the room would be clean, knowing that in London the rooms would be small (and that was OK). Our room was clean, had no complaints other than it was facing the road and we had to sleep with the window open since the heat was turned on for the winter. The bed also seemed to be a rollaway, and was not all that comfortable. Overall, I'd say we got a very reasonable rate so we were happy with it.

have stayed there 5 times,1st time was very good, every other time the rooms have been too small, this last time I was given a room I could hardly turn round in,on top of the tube line,to be fair,I was moved to a little larger room on the front of the building, the in room safe did not work,Iwas promised it would be fixed, nothing happened, the cold water went, same story,no shower for two days, the best about the hotel is the location, but then you get what you pay for!and it will be the same in every other hotel,so be glad you get the location.

the hotel is difficult to find , not near airport. outer door locked have to make phone call to gain entrance to an alley then found note on door regarding room numbers. no staff at all in early evening. room tiny cramped , showers horrible, breakfast room carpet filthy a most unpleasant place even for cheaper prices. The Royal Norfolk in paddington little better good location staff unfriendly , rooms tiny bathreems worse than public toilets . They did however have a decent breakfast room and breakfast. do not recomend either of these properties to anyone , facilities little more than back packer accommodation and the this one was very noisy

- The GOOD: 1. I paid 47 pounds, no breakfast 2. Clean place, TV set (but you have to like the BBC cause no cable), next to Queensway - The BAD : 1. Never seen such a tiny room (well, corridor? 3m x 2m). I guess that sufficient if your are alone and looking for the best location/price ratio. It really looks like a boat cabin! 2. Never been in such a loud place : The underground train runs right under your bed every 20 minutes and wakes you up at 5:00am. After that, a guy fixing the roof was making crazy noise from 8:00am on, on Saturday morning! The coridor is also very loud since the cabin door is thin. Bottom-line: Would be OK for a cheaper price, but get up early (probably after the first couple of trains passing underneath)

First stay exellent doubleroom, second time ok room, third time small room, unable to lock the door and had to wait two/three hours for another room, fourth time the smallest room ever experienced when in London. For me is the location of the hotel very important. Near to Quennsway, with all the restaurants - shops - and pubs, Paddington, Notting Hill, two tube stations and Kensington Gardens is a perfect location. Nice hotel with a very nice lobby bar where you meet other nice guests!! and a nice clean bed in a rather small room, but that is quite common in english hotels! I am very satisfied with my stay. Good hotel to an reasonable price.

I had forgotten how poor the English customer service standards are. Rooms are adequate although the hotel only had 2 irons and you had to leave a 10 pound deposit and fetch it yourself. Do not ever let them organize a taxi for you as it will cost 3 times the amount a london cab would cost. Employees not friendly!!

For a hotel in London prices were ok - although high in comparison with other cities. Rooms small, but usually you do not stay there too long so this did not cause problems. Safe was in the closet. Big difference between the atmospere of the lobby and the rooms (we had 2 double and 1 single ...). Very good located with lots of shops and restaurants within 5 mins footwalk.

Service was very good. I guess London is supposed to be expensive but in comparison to my hotel experiences in all other countries, the amount paid provided little in terms of a nice room. Nothing was horrendous, it was just a run down room without a refrigerator or air conditioning. We slept well and when we requested sheets for our bed (there was only a comforter with which we could cover ourselves), service was very prompt.

Nice looking hotel from outside, old tiny rooms inside. The hotel looks really clean, at least our room and the public areas were. Apart that nothing good can be said about rooms. Tiny, oldish, the sink is in the room under the mirror with the the typical British two taps, single windows. Every noise from around is heard inside the room, the lift, the neighbors (luckily they were not noisy. At night the light from the corridor can be seen around the door as it doesn't fit, pretty old that too. The staff is just OK, nothing remarkable good or bad. At 49£ for Sunday night and 62£ the rest of the nights NOT including breakfast I find it's not good quality/price, it's just acceptable when one doesn't have better choices. And I noticed they ask for 99-109£ for the Saturday nights which is highly exaggerated. The breakfast at the additional 9.50£ is pricey. Overall the hotel has two assets: the cleanliness and the location. At 49£ I would stay there again, at 99£ I would not.

The walking distance to Blakemore from Pattington Station was a little longer than I expected. In our reservation we had requested a double room, but when we got there we were given a large room on the 3rd floor with 3 single beds. However this was quickly amended once I returned to the reception area, where we were given a double room on the ground floor. The room itself was rather basic and small. As you enter the room there is a short hallway with the bathroom situated to the right and ahead we found the width of the room just about enough to accommodate the double bed. The staff members at Blakemore carried out their job fine, but there were no indication nor signs of them wanting to make you feel more welcomed in their efforts. Our check out time was 11am. Having decided not to have breakfast at the hotel (pricey at £9.95 per person) we would relax and get ready to check out at the time stated instead. However from 9am and every 20-30 minutes that followed we had staffs knocking at the door for room service. Had I took it any other way I'd almost think they were trying to hurry and usher us out! Overall, for the one night stay Blakemore wasn't too bad and it's reasonable priced for a 3 star hotel. Only thing is, it didn't look nor feel like the 3 star hotel that it's meant to be.

Pleasant hotel in residential area, though Saturday night revellers into the early hours from nearby pubs made sleep difficult as my room was on the ground floor on the main street. Room size good for hotels of this price range with decent-sized bathroom. Bed far too soft for comfort, however. Breakfast is expensive at £9.95 for cooked English and £5.95 for continental.

If you are a tourist and you would like to go in the parks (3 minutes from Hyde Park), this is the hotel for you. If you do not need to stay in the hotel and, as a tourist, you will stay always out, the single standard room is ok but believe me the space in the room is ridicolous. Moreover my room, fifth floor, was close to the lift and I heard everything...all night long...So, do not go in this hotel if you are there for business.

Very nice hotel, good value. The room I stayed in was on 5th floor, facing back yards. Room cosy decorated, medium sized, warm, clean, with all necessary devices. View from the window from 5th floor over the roofs, quite nice. Bathroom clean, high water pressure, big bottles of shampoo and bathgel, clean towels. Nice staff, spacious reception (like real hotel should have). Quiet- there is the tube, which has some big vent in the backyard and you can hear it and see through there till 00.30, but this noise is not annoing. I recommend this place.

I booked this hotel because it was 3 stars with satellite tv and breakfast included. The only satelitte tv was in the bar, I had to argue to get breakfast and this was no 3 stars. We were put in a smoking room, the windows leaked cold air in January and opened to a 4 story drop, the water bubbled in the shower when they took a shower upstairs loud enough to wake us up. Away from the public areas the carpets were worn through and it was generally shabby. The staff gave in on breakfast but I don't think cereal and toast costs them 5.95 pounds a day! Location was fine. This is the first time I have been disappointed with a reservation through venere.

The Blakemore has a wide range of prices. I booked their cheapest type of room (47 pounds). Staff made it clear in their attitude and service that I was a "low price" customer, deserving less kindness and attention than high-end clients. Cleaning staff were friendly, reception and supervisors were arrogant. // L'hôtel offre une gamme élargie de prix. J'ai réservé une chambre au bas de la gamme et le personnel me l'a clairement fait sentir (attitude moins agréable et moins serviable qu'avec les clients occupant des chambres plus haut de gamme).

The single room was small, but not too small. The bathroom was new with normal size wash-basin and mixed tap. In double room the wash basin was in the room and there were separate hot and cold taps. I expected small rooms but this one was ridiculous. I believe we were given the worst one because of booking it online at a reduced rate. It was small, the bedspread stank, it was dirty, and the bathroom as so small you could stand in it, turn around, and use the shower, toilet, and sink at the same time. The shower was a stand up one and the curtain did not reach the floor, so no matter how hard you tried, the floor flooded. The doors are made to SLAM shut (so you don't forget to leave them open I guess) but in the middle of the night when people are partying or coming in late, the slamming doors are a REAL pain. The worst part were the people who worked there. They were unfriendly and unhelpful and almost rude many times. When we complained about the room, they offered another one which was only a bit bigger for another 30 pounds ($60) per night. We stayed because we were visiting our son and he lived two doors down and it was convenient but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

Our room was more spacious than we thought it would be (2nd floor, rooom 227) but the toilet was small (as everyone else said in the reviews). Other guests told us that 4th floor rooms, mostly single rooms were not as nice so be careful when booking! The hotel had an excellent location, walking distance from tube station, Bayswater(use circle and green line). We booked a double room but received a twin room. The staff were helpful and offered us another room immediately. The public areas had a lot of cigarette smoke. It is also very close to Hyde Park.

I thought the quality of the furnishings in the room was pittiful. Our bedspread was frayed on all the edges, so much so you could see the lining and the spread had been sorn through on the top in quite a few places. Had to ask for glasses and they were not very forthcoming with us wanting a porter to help with our luggage. The receptionists (most) did not have good english and found it very difficult at times to get out point across, which was unbelievable since we were in London. this particularly was noticed when we kept rining to get exact directions on how to get to the hotel, which wasn't easy, we could not nor could they understand us. Very disappointing. Each day the makeup of the room got worse, so much so, that I thought someone must have been sleeping on the bed during the day.

I decided to stay in this hotel after having read some previous reviews. The Blakemore Hotel met my expectations. Maybe this is not the Ritz Hotel, but the room rate was very honest as well as the services provided. The room was not really big, but very clean and warm. There is a tea/coffee facility in the room that my girlfriend and I really appreciated. I work in a hotel too, so I know what means to be busy, and the people at the reception were always very busy. Although this, the front desk staff was friendly and looked in your eyes while handing your room-key (greetings to Erry and the others). The location of the hotel is very good, close to hyde park and a 5 minutes walk from two underground stations (Bayswater and Queensway). There are many shops and a commercial centre in the surroundings, as well as several restaurants. I would definetely choose again the Blakemore Hotel, if coming back to London.

- Clean bedsheets, clean bathroom. - Noisy(street traffic and other rooms) - Lack of mech. ventilation. - Apart from that, everything was functioning at the hotel room. - Some distance to the nearest tube, appr. 10 min. walk. - Didn't try the breakfast as this was Pound 9,50 extra, so we found it more convenient to eat at a near-by breakfast cafe. - All in all OK to be a budget hotel.

I got a good room for the stay over New Years. Couldn't beat the price. The room was small but comfortable. I would stay again.

Good price/quality and service. Our double room was very small (with shower) and without bath. Triple for boys was much bigger. This was my second stay at the hotel.

If you are a single traveller and are looking for the smallest rooms in the world, you should definitely stay here. The bathroom tiles were not secured properly and they moved whenever you stepped in the bathroom which was also incredibly small but if you are just looking for a place to sleep then this hotel is fine. There were windows that opened almost all the way to allow in some air because it was incredibly hot in London during the last week of July that I was there. The Circle line tube train ran right under my room but it didn't bother me that much. Very nice lobby with a bar. Not that close to a tube station. Queensway was the closest and it's still a bit of a hike. The hairdryer was located by the closet and is attached to the wall of the closet. There is a mirror nearby. Not that great if you would rather do your hair in the bathroom.
