For the price you can't go wrong. The room is small but has the basics. I was on the side of the building away from the railroad tracks so I had no problem with train noise. The great thing is the location, next to Victoria station and the Parliament square and Buckingham Palace. If you want just a place to sleep this is OK. My wife would not be caught dead in a place like this. I was alone so it was just fine.

This was part of a terraced group of bed & breakfast hotels - one checks in at a different hotel further along the road. Location for purpose - perfect. Very close to Victoria Station/Gatwick Express as required. Had to leave at 5am following return from formal dinner previous evening. Also the price for an ensuite room in central London (£35.75) was very reasonable. However, not a hotel I would like to stay in other circumstances. Room was tiny; bathroom a corner of room one had to squeeze into. And it stank. Room overlooked the railway tracks. It was a warm evening & with the window open one could hear the trains. Would ask for a room the other side of hotel if possible. In circumstances, no complaint as I could have had a superior hotel but would have to pay far more. For 5 hours sleep and convenience of own shower/toilet served its purpose well.

Regarding value for money this place is excellent. I stayed at the Alexandra which is a few doors down. For One night in such a central area, 5 minutes walk to Victoria station, and metro, 3 mins to coach station. Bed was comfortable, power shower worked, sash cord windows opened, kettle tea & coffee provided, and small fridge. Excellent location. I have stayed in more expensive places with less facilities. The floor carpet was well worn but that is being replaced. Breakfast Cereal tea & toast was adequate you cant, expect any more if one is paying under thirty pounds as this was a late booking for a Sunday. I would certainly stay there again. You can walk to most places and there is an excellent choice of restaurants and cafes & large supermarket in the shopping mall near Victoria station. I was on ground floor and had no heavy baggage. There is no lift so if one has heavy baggage this could be a problem.

Actually we were accommodated not in Annexe hotel but in close guest house. The room was microscopic so we hardly could cross each other. There is really no space for your luggage. The bathroom was so small that it was difficult to turn over… And the NOISE! Our window was open on Victoria railway station platforms! so we could see and hear trains all night. The walls and ceiling are really thin – all single step and movement is easily identified… Stay here only if your budget is limited and you need central location.

Been in london laods of times! Always used this website! This hotel ***d up everything!!! They decided to block the full amount on my visa even though i had paid them with cash. I ruined my holiday and the afterwards... calling them to unblock it and they made fun of me! DO NOT go to this hotel unless you dont mind them messing with your money.

As a BUDGET hotel in an excellent location one can not be fussy about too many things. This is a very basic hotel for you to sleep, shower and get going again....you can not stay for too long in the rooms....too small. Overall good value for the very low price

This hotel is geared to the "throw your backpack on the shelf" kind of traveler. Not only are the facilities down the hall from your room, they are up and down stairs. The utilitarian cupboard for refrigerator, tiny tv, and the guest's clothes was quite homely. No desk. A few eye-level hooks would have improved the experience greatly: there was nowhere to hang out dress clothes or a bath robe, and the half-closet wasn't tall enough to accommodate such items. Very funky design for the toilet/shower situation. But the sheets were clean, thick and comfy; the breakfast of freeze-dried coffee, toast, jam, corn flakes, and juice was placed before me by a server; a staff member carried one of my bags up to my room and left abruptly without a gratuity. A polite staff, a good location, a great price, and snowy TV reception.

Check in was at 10am, we arrived at 10:30 and were told to come back an hour later as the room was not ready yet. We obliged, to find the room was still not ready with alot of painting and decorating going on in the stairwell. Once we got inside, the floor was dirty and the room was cramped. The shower was the worst shower I've ever encountered with no hot water. I couldn't use it. 2 days in London, with no shower. It was adjoined to the toilet seperated by a curtain, it was worse than hostel facilities. I didn't bother with their bed and breakfast, the welcoming we got, if you can call it that, was underwhelming, the facilities were awful, and as a consequence I did not put my faith in their food. Really disappointed, poor value for money. I would've complained but the communication was non-existent and I don't think anyone there would've took it at face value. Not impressed.

In the annexe hotel web page it was written that all the rooms had toilets and it was not true. We had to go downstarirs two plants to have a shower or to do anything you need. There was no space to place to cases even not more than a hanger. The fridge was extreme small, tv was unsetted and no dintance orderer for the tv. Day and night trains passed by, too close, too much noise nad there was no shutters, just a fine curtain, we had to hang a dark sheet for the light no to pass through.

We were not in Annexe Hotel, but in Cedar Guests, just a few meters next. It's because i called earlier to have a room on the street side, and not on the underground side. Thanks to that, our romm was quiet, the sheets were clean, the shower was hot: enough to stay for 2 nights... Breakfast was good, but the staff wasn't very friendly. very well located.

L'hotel sarebbe anche carino, offre una buona colazione e ha camere sufficientemente accoglienti (ci si può dormire) peccato che sia di fianco alla stazione e che i treni sottostanti accopmagnino dolcemente l'ospite per tutta la notte con i loro stridore di freni... ci sono altri hotel in zona, ma in mancanza di meglio ci si può dormire it's nice and cheap. it has a godd breakfast and little but comfortably room. but it' too much near the station and trains pass for all night. there are better hotels in this zone but for one or two night it's possible stay here

Well, as many other guests I booked a double room at the Annexe and found myself in one of the close hotels. That was not a big change I guess, they all look old, tiny and dirty. Our room was too small. I read many reviews before going there and I thought I was ready to accept a small room, but I really didn't immagine such a small toilet. My boyfriend had to open the door when brushing his teeth 'coz otherwise he couldn't fit in the toilet. Very obsolete furniture and dirty carpet. Staff was not bad, almost all south asian, except for the housekeeper. When we arrived we found her cleaning a room and in the corridor the clean bed sheets and towels on the floor...not very welcoming! I know hotels in London are horrible, but I guess next time I have to stay there I will spend some extra pounds trying to avoid this kind of accomodation (that is not so cheap for what they offer!).

The Hotel is near the Victoria Station, there you have evething, Stores, Markets, Theathers, Metro, and Buckingham Road that is a very important Street in London. The Continental breakfast is good. The Buckinghan Palace is at 20 minutes waking. If I go to London I will stay there again.

I think the best the hotel has is were is located. My room (single) was too much noise every night because Victoria Station. But the most important thing in a hotel is cleanliness of the room the bed, blanket, the bath room, etc. They have to pay more atenttion to that, and also the rooms doors dont have extra loock so I feel not so secure. Thats is important too.

First I have to say that we booked a room in Annexe but were sent to Alexander ( some houses further) .It was great to have a hotel so close to the very center. But I was schoked about so small room , about syntethic smell in rooms ( by the way very strong one) , about lack of toilet paer in a public toilet ( as there was no toilet and shower in a room) . I didn't use a public shower because it was very small and there was no place where to leave clothes when you are in shower. But I enjoyed a stay so close to the center as I spent whole day outside and in a hotel just spent a night ,i.e. slept .

When we first arrived, at 00:30 the recepcionist told us we wouldn't have the two double rooms we had booked, we had to be in a familiar room or there was no place. As it was so late, we agreed but we didn't like that having booked more than six months ago, they didn't have the rooms. The hotel was seedy and the breakfast also but as we didn't go to the hotel to sleep, it was bearable. The most important thing for us was that it is really good located.

I went to London, that time for holidays, although I went there many times before. It was the first time we stay at the hotel. We stayed at the Hotel for 4 days. The hotel is very close to the Victoria station. It´s very well located, just 5 minutes to buckinham palace and well connected by train, coach, tube ... People at the recepcion were not very kind, but they helped us anyway. The breakfast is served in the basement of the hotel, so you have to go outside to have breakfast. It´s a small place, with just four or five tables, so you must wake up early to take a seat. Our room was quite nice, but we met some people there, and not all the rooms are the same. The best ones are in the upper floors, were we slept. The others are very very small, with no place even to put your suitcase. The hotel is very very cleaned. They cleaned the room every morning when we went out, and they change the linen and the towels everyday. We have three new towels every morning. the only problem with the room was the bathroom. It was inside the room, and it was too small, but in fact it was enough. They have lots of information about things to do in the city, and you can always ask them. Last they, we should leave the room before 11.00 o´clock, but our coach to the airport was at 23.ooh, so I asked them to leave my suitcase there to keep it save, and they were very nice and offered to keep it there. I will go again to that same hotel next time, even if the room is small...

When we came to the hotel we were told that they have had some problems with the rooms and they had tryed to call us to inform us about it. This was not true - they had not tryed to call us. We had to spend the first night at a nearby hotel, that was of even worse standard. The second night we spend in the hotel booked online, the absolut smallest room I have ever seen and with trains (metro and train) right outside the window.

This is a modest hotel at a modest price (actually booking ahead resulted in a lower price than that quoted in the lobby). Just two minutes from Victoria Station and the Gatwick Express. The Annex is one of four or five small hotels in a row under the same management. and I booked in at the Holly and stayed at the Alexander. One disappointment was instant coffee crystals provided with a jug of hot water at the "continental breakfast" (cereal and toast).

I will not recommend this hotel even to my worst enemies! The location is great as it is right by the Victoria station but the hotel is unkempt, noisy, we did not get any sleep at all because it was right by the rail tracks and the train ran 24 hours a day, ventilation was poor. This would have all been very minor given the price quoted to us online but we had a very unpleasant experience the day of our arrival. When we checked in the fellow at the desk told us they have cancelled our reservation and the only way we can stay at their hotel was if we agree to pay extra 20 pounds a day over and above the price that you quote us online. We were in a strange place, (our first trip to Europe), and very tired from the plane ride, this gesture was truly unacceptable and appalling. We were told he can always offer the room at a much higher rate to the next customer as London was very busy, tourist flocking to London for the Chelsea Flower show. I hope you will be able to investigate this and please send us a reply. That was truly an experience in hell!

However it's very usefull for traveller who arrives at Victoria coach station. Breakfast was good. I arrived late in the night but I had no problem in check in. If you need an hotel not so far from victoria station this is the right place but I hope for the future that price will be more clear and corrispondent to the rate showed on website.

Dear Sir/Madame, Annexe is only of five hotels in a row ( in the same street), which are managed by one person at a time. He said that his name is Salman Khan. I literally begged him to change my extremely noisy big room in the basement ( due to the horrible noise of the Tube trains which continue till late after midnight, but the guy did not accept, and he insisted that this is the only room available in his five hotels. And he added that I can leave if I don't feel comfortable ( this is after already paying the money). I had recently a heart operation in The Netherlands, where I come from, and I needed so much a bit of rest. But this supervisor, or manager, turned my only night into a nightmare. I will NEVER EVER book again in this hotel, and I don't advise anyone to do so. I will admire Venere 's Courage to publish my letter without editting. Many thanks in advance, Anan Saad

We have an impression that this hotel doesn't really care about its reputation and definitely does not depend on returning customers. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room we booked (double en suite) was not available and were offered a double room with shared WC and shower. If we knew about the non-existence of en suite rooms, we would definitely have booked another hotel, since we stayed for two nights and wanted to have a proper shower. Furthermore, the shower didn't appear very clean, so we ended up not using it at all. However, during the breakfast we found out that we were lucky: a French couple, who, like us, booked a double en suite, had to spend a night in a single room with shared WC and shower! And their window didn't even close (as it was the end of February, the nights were really cold). The rooms are very very small, but it's ok for few nights. We liked the fact that rooms had kettles (tea, coffee, and sugar were provided as well) and small fridges. As for the breakfast, we'd like to confirm one earlier comment: breakfast is served by very rude girls. Moreover, their English is very very poor, one seemed to know just several English words and didn't even attempt to form sentences, just 'tea? coffee? toast? cornflakes?' However, we agree that these girls were so rude it was actually funny. We will definitely not return to this hotel next time we stay in London, and would not recommend it for anyone, since it's very probable that people won't get what they book!

I was staying with my Mother twice at Annexe (in fact it's 5 hotels in a row - the reception for all is at the Holly, and we stayed at the Ivy and the Ceder - never at Annexe itself actually). Both times I've specially asked for a twin room with no stairs - they are difficult for Mum. The first time everything went well, we were given a room on the ground floor, but the next time (when we came to London late in the evening due to the great traffic jam) we were told that there were no rooms left at all except one on the second floor (and the stairs here are very steep and uncomfortable - especially if you have luggage). But as we were very tired we decided to stay after all - I payed by credit card - and then the room turned out to be a double - so we had to spend a rather uncomfortable night with too much central heating and the noise of the railway right under the window. Here you should definitely check everything before you pay! We didn't go to breakfast - so no tips. But the presence of the fridge in both rooms where we stayed is definitely an asset. And the hotel is 3 minutes walk from Victoria coach station and maybe 5 - from Victoria railway Station so it is really convenient as a one night stay - and 35 GBP for two en-suite (February 2006) is definitely good value.

Good Location (5 min. walk form Victoria Station. Rooms are kinda small (ESP. the toilet) but serves the purpose and Clean. Dont expect too much so you wont be disappointed - and accept the fact that everything in London is really expensive!

This place is fine for 1 or 2 nights but I wouldn't want to stay much longer. Please note the reception is actually in "holly house" on the same street. Rooms are basic but fine. Breakfast is basic (cereal and toast), adequate, and served by the rudest girls I have ever met. So rude, it's funny, actually. Overall it's fine for a short stay and it is near Victoria station so good for travelling.

WOW....first of all, the room was more than small. If you´re staying there alone it´s maybe all right but we had serious problems to move in that little thing. Breakfast includes 2 pices of bread.. London is really great, but we should have booked a better hotel even because it was quite expensive.

The receptionists are very unpolite, rude, not prepared for tourists. Room very dirty, small, and noisy. Bad smell and greasy stains on the bed covers

It was terrible. Never stay in a B&B in London where an Indian is the housekeeper. Better to spend a little money to get an little more comfort and service. But...its London. Next stay is another City or a yuth hostel.

My room was incredibly small and smelt of smoke. Noisy surroundings. Dirty bathroom. Good breakfast.

you get what you pay for so i can't compain, but the breakfast room was in another property as was reception, so i missed breakfast due to having to queue up behind guests from other hotels in the street, & had to wait a while to check out as they were short handed

The hotel was small but okay. For London it was quite cheap and it was clean & cosy. The breakfast was fine and the room-service was active everyday, cleaning the rooms and changing the towels. The very small rooms contained a bed, a watercooker, a tv and a small refrigerator. The location was superb, because the hotel was just some minutes away from victoria station. The only really poor thing was the welcome, everything else was okay for the money...

If you are looking for a place to sleep in the city of london, you can choose this hotel. But you should not expect so much comfort. It s only good for sleeping, but it is also possible that you sleep in the basement!!

The hotel is located very close to downton. It is close to Victoria station which explanes the high level of noise coming from the railway. The service is friendly - most the time childrens or students at the reception. The pictures from the net do not really correspond with the reality - in termes of space.
