First time I stayed in this hotel. At 5:10 a.m. the metro begin to run (and, yes, the metro lines transit below the hotel...). There are no air-conditioning in the rooms, but you have the fan-coil of some other hotel in front of your window.

The room should have been double but was so small that it was hardly livable for 2 people. The ratio quality/price was unacceptable. The room was not clean (sheets had not been changed!), and the clerk didn't know what to do about it. I had to change them myself at midnight! No refund was given for the inconvenience. Definitely the given service was below expectations.

I was been in London with my 6 years old son from 17th to 21th of November for a leisure trip. I was been in this city many times in the past, so I cannot complain about wideness of the room: I know in London hotels in the city center are all quite small. My big complain is related to the quality of the service offered by the hotel. First of all they're rated about ***, or ****, and I believe it, considering the price I paied, but I must say it's only a poor two stars hotel! It's all a rather old and not well maintained. In my room, the # 304, a double, carpets and the wallpaper are dirty and rippen in many points. The door cannot close well underside, as there was a big irregularity between the door and the floor. Tea-kettle didn't work, as well as hairdryer. In the bathroom there wasn't a window, as well as an air-exauster, so no possibility to change air in it. No possibility to close the bathroom, as no key; no whisk for w.c. The complimentary forniture for bathroom was very poor and, they provided guests only with two towels: a big one for bath and a small one. I expressed my complaining at the reception and they said this the "the hotel policy"... In the morning, if you don't take your shower at 6am, you cannot have hot water, as the plant I presume is old. In the bathtub sink are also old, or not clean enough, and I had to take my bath in dirty water arriving over malleoules. Some receptionists are no very friendly and prepared: my husband tried to call me one morning at 6,30am and the receptionist, probebly disturbed, said we're not in that hotel and we also never booked there, putting my husband in axiety and worry; another time, as there was a shower outside, I asked to the receptionist in charge if she can borrow me an hotel's umbrella, but she told me they don't have, the day after another client asked for an umbrella and they gave her... The hotel is five min. walk from the #94 bus stop and from the Queensway, or Bayswater tube stop, an

Small room, but excellent breakfast. Friendly staff except for a coloured guy with red glasses who had no idea about how to treat guests. If he wisens up or is removed, we would definitely consider another stay.

For a budget stay in London this is excellent. It's close to underground stations and restaurants, not too far from the centre but not noisy. The rooms are functional and ours was clean - not as spacious as a country manor hotel, but one wouldn't expect that from a low-mid range London hotel room.

Clean attractively decorated hotel but my room was right next to rail way line. I was kept awake most of the night by passing trains. The room as very small. On the positive side a great location re: access to underground. greel restaurant nearby served big fairly taswy meals.

Staff was very helpful. The Hotel is in a very nice location and is quite charming. I was provided with a very large room. I didn't know it had a swimming pool--so more information could have been provided.

We stayed at the Henry 8th during Christmas holiday. The best part is the location- close to tube(Queensway and Bayswater) and 2 blocks from qeensway Rd which is full of ethnic restaurants and 2 great pubs within 2 blocks. Also great little pub right across street(the Saloon)Staff was accomodating- we had 2 rooms- a double and a triple for our 3 children- 19,21,23. It was in a safe area. Room was fine for them- our room had a problem with the toilet- but they changed it immediately and graciously. The only down time we had was at the Greek restaurant next door- Zorba the Greek. We had Christmas dinner there-choices limited as holiday- food was great, but bill was wrong and they wouldn't make it right- in fact they were down right rude- but that has nothing to do with the hotel- breakfast was adequate- not full English- but ok. We left to go to the country and were noy able to get back in for remainder of stay- got rooms down the street at Hotel Villa-more expensive- rooms not nearly as nice.Staff was fine but wouldn't stay there again. Would definitely stay at Henry 8th!

The staff is friendly and kind, room is clean. Compared with the other hotels in London where I have stayed and which offered the same price, this hotel is the best one. However, I needed a taxi to go to the nearest station because I had big luggage and it's a bit far for me. Except that, this hotel is excellent.

The common area couches and the carpeting in my room were somewhat old/stained. The room was small, but otherwise very clean. Overall, this was nothing special, but a good deal for the money.

I don't have enough good things to say about the Henry VIII hotel. It was exactly what I was looking for, and more. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel in that there isn't a TON of luxury there, but it is more than adequate for a week's stay or less in London. The staff was friendly, and helpful, the complimentary contintental breakfast was wonderful, and provided many options for people of all dietary needs. The room was a good size for us(2 twentysomething sisters in one room)...there was room to walk around, the bathroom was fine, clean. The television was a little small, but you shouldn't be watching too much tv anyway...you're in London! We had room 511, which was on the top floor, and had a nice view of the neighboorhood. Get it, if you can.

The Henry VIII is located in the Kennsington Park area, conveniently located near several tube stations and has a great breakfast. If you are looking for a great place to catch up on sleep, this is not the place for you. The hotel is located right next to a train line which runs until about 12:30 am and kicks back up at 5:30 am. In addition the walls are paper thin, and there are just certain things I don't want to know about my next door neighbors. I would give this hotel a fair rating.

Generally a good hotel, great location with reasonable rooms and excellant value. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Friendly pub nearby for night cap on the way home, Hyde Park around the corner for wandering with your coffee in the morning..would recommend this hotel to anyone not going for the 5 star option but who wants a basic comfortable hotel in a great location to get th emost of their London trip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff, especially Marie, were exceptionally friendly and I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to London. The rooms were small, admittedly, and the walls were thin, but if you're out exploring all day, this won't be a problem.

staff at receotion went out of their way to help and accomodate us in everything.we enjoyed our stay however except for the front street rooms that were ok the other rooms were the smallest i have ever seen anywhere.we had to move the bed to open the cupboard and two people could'nt stand in the room at the same time, one had to be on the bed when the other one was standing.the bathroom had barely enough room for one big person.however we will stay there again as long vas they can guarantee us one of the bigger rooms.
