The relationship betwen price and quality is great. However, be careful with the form of payment, if you pay with card they will charge you 5% more. The rooms are small but enough if you don't want to spent so much time in it.

Our room was very nice, but the bathroom did not function very well. Each time I was under the shower there was an obstacle: electric energy failed, water stopped or there was an fire alarm. Showering was a real adventure in this hotel.

The room and bathroom were small as expected, however the shower was very mouldy and flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used. Our room was right next door to the hallway toilet and every noise could be heard through the wall. The stairs were extremely steep and seemed quite unstable. Breakfast was fine and location is good with a 2 minute walk to Kings Cross St Pancras station.

This hotel is typical of a number in this area. Small rooms, not cheap and very average breakfast but very close to Kings Cross / St. Pancreas and lots of shops and so on. If you are out all day then these types of places are fine and the location is fantastic - good for the EuroStar, the tube and the tube to Heathrow. For me the location is everything so happy to put up with a small room, average service and a dodgy breakfast. If you did your homework you could find a better place I am sure but as a place to sleep while exploring London it fits the bill. So you need to set your expectations correctly so don't expect a big room or fantastic service but a good location, easy to find and average value. Oh, there is no lift so you have to haul your luggage up the stairs! Recommended for adventurous travelers or people who just want a convenient place to sleep while seeing London, no good for people who want to be pampered!

We were traveling as a couple with a 8 years old child, and stayed 4 nights in a triple room. The hotel location is great because just 50m from the tube station and very central. The room was small and the bathroom too, but as we only went back to the hotel to sleep, it was not a problem. The English breakfast was good, but the breakfast room much too small for the number of people staying at the hotel, and is only served from 7 to 9 a.m. But we enjoyed our stay for a very good price and will certainly stay there some other times.

Great location for one night stopover near St Pancras/Kings Cross. Our mistake, we didn't check before booking that there was no lift, which made it difficult to climb the three flights of stairs to an 'attic' room allocated to us. Room very small - typical of London. Shower head somewhere near my navel - very ordinary. Breakfast fine and price as expected in London. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very small room (quad family), very small shower room. Beds were quite good. Room was quiet although located on the gorund floor and on the street. Breakfeast as expected, good quality. However we had to queue 5 to 10 minutes to get a chair, room is small. Also you can smell the cooking from your room starting at 7 AM, but we did not matter. Hotel is very well located, 100m from St Pancras station and tube which is very convenient. A good solution for a 2 or 3 nights stay in London.

I was more low budget than I expected. The room was smal the bathroom very, very smal. I think for one or two nights it would be fine for the price, if you only need at bed to sleep in. The location is very fine, very close to the Underground.

The room was tiny, not even enough room to put the suitcase on the floor. But probably a standard size for the area and price. The full English breakfast was cold on both days making it inedible and the breakfast area is ridiculously small - but don't try to queue in the corridotrs, they are too narrow.... On the positive side, the room was clean, the water for the shower was hot, staff were polite and helpful and the location was perfect for a traveller arriving at St Pancras station. If you just want to sleep, it's fine - if you want something better, then be prepared to pay more.

The rooms were very very small. Except the breakfast room and a very small reception room across the street there was no public space available. The rooms were not overly clean, but just acceptable. TV, very old and small with bad reception and only 5 channels. Shower was hard to regulate to a comfortable temperature and, again, very small. Rooms were very cold when we arrived and the heating only worked after a couple of hours. Breakfast was ok. I've had better but I certainly had worse. The breakfast room was very (again) small and crowded. If you're only looking for a place to sleep and have some breakfast for an affordable price without any luxury, you could go there. The location is good, center of London and very close to public transport. The hotel staff did not warn us about the congestion tax, which I think they should. I would not recommend going there with children, especially young children. There just isn't enough room. Though the price is relatively low for the center of London, the quality vs. price ratio is very poor. The three star qualification is just met. There is a bath room but a bad one, there is a tv but a bad one... etc.

I have already been there in August 2009. last time I was in the "fairway hotel" building, this time in the "central hotel" 's (just on the other side of the street), and the room was better, well-decorated and refurbished, even if the previous room was ok (ok for me, but not clean enought according my mother...). for breakfast, as much as you want: tea, coffee, milk, corn flakes, ham, cheese, tomatoes, bacon, eggs, sausages and toasts (with butter and jam). the people were very nice (and they remembered me) and this hotel is really close from Saint Pancreas... Anyway you can be sure that I adopted the place and I will go back!

We traveled as a family of four with two children aged twelve. The bathroom, allthough en suite, was tiny without a lock. The room was a bit small, originally meant for three and with an extra bed it got crampy - but who's in London to hang around in the hotel room? The staff were very nice and they served a very good breakfast. All in all our stay was what we expected at the price we paid.

Very good location, at walking distance from all main attractions and only meters away from King's Cross St. Pancrass tube station. Clean and recently refurbished room, quiet surroundings, friendly personnel. Probably the best price/quality rate I've found in London. 100m away from Kings Cross Station, we booked a twin room on the ground floor, with a window that opened onto the street. (There seemed to be some steep steps up to higher floors at the back, but we didn't investigate.) Check-in was across the road, but well signposted. Reservaytion was exactly as expected; staff cordial; room not generously sized, but clean. The bathroom clean and with a nice shower. Breakfast was a typical B&B: cereal, not-great coffee, cooked plate (eggs to order, baked beans, great bacon, toast). Location was easy walking to St Pancras station and the British Library (both worth a look!) and even less distance to the Kings Cross tube, which granted easy access to the rest of the city. I'd certainly go back.

The hotel is very easy to find, very central and nice for a short trip. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is also good (if you like english breakfast or toast). The rooms are a little bit small (but it's enough space for spending only a few days) and noisy (you can hear your neighbors)... The service is friendly. We spend a good time there! ;)

We stayed here during a heat wave, the room was truly horrible as far as stuffiness and temperature. In fact we ended up going out and buying a fan. The price was great, the location was right down the street from King's Cross, but to get to Piccadilly Square, etc was a taxi ride away. The room was clean, I never worry about space as long as I can reach the bed and bathroom. Was tiny, but for the price it was fine, with the exception of no air.

The hotel is pretty close to the King Cross and St. Pancreas station. Yet don't go there if you've a huge suitcase, as there is no elevator and the staircase is super narrow and spiral. The breakfast was good, with a plate of bacon and egg and baked beans, juice and coffee, as well as some buffet style han and cheese, it was more than enough to make you full. There were supermarkets and restaurants nearby so getting food and necessities wasn't a problem. The room (double with private bathroom) was small, looked a bit old but had served its function well. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Ottima la colazione all'Inglese.

This is a very basic, no-frills hotel. For the price, it's what we expected. We were happy with the service and cleanliness. The location is great - right across from the Kings Cross underground. It's a quiet location with easy access to other major parts of the city. I would recommend this hotel.

First of all - we didn't get a room in the Fairwayhotel but opposite the street in Centralhotel. Quite central hotel for low-budget-travellers - big station Kingscross is within two minutes walk. The room we had was very small an had a handwashbasin a 1,20 m wide bed and a small and nearly broken cupboard inside. It was neither clean nor dirty, but astonishinly quiet. The shower and toilet was on the floor - that was only a problem on the last day, when anybody made a full-body-shaving and left a real mess. The breakfast was okay, although it wasn't (as declared) FULL english breakfast - it was just beans, egg, sausages, toast. When we asked for more toast, we didn't get one. Concluding: Advisable for low-budget-travellers with low demands.

Excellent value hotel well located near to Euston and Kings Cross stations. Rooms clean and breakfast sufficient. Obviously very basic but could not fault it for the money. The only problem we encountered was that when we rang the night before to see what time we could check in, we were told the room had been cancelled by ourselves - which it hadn't. They did sort this out for us within 30 mins but I would suggest you ring and confirm your room 24 hours before

I was highly impressed by the Fairway Hotel's excellent location (a stone's throw from King's Cross Station). The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, if a bit limited (the cooked breakfast was eggs, bacon and baked beans.) The room was very clean and comfortable (with hairdrier, tea-making facilities and a TV). The only thing wrong with the room was it was very small. The bathroom was tiny. But if you're either asleep or visiting London, it doesn't really matter! We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel.

We selected the hotel as it had a full english breakfast. however the breakfast room was so small that there were always a line formed awaiting a table. after a few days we just stopped even trying. if we knew it was going to be such a hassle we'd not booked there.

We were very satisified with the Fairway, especially having read the comments on many budget hotels in London. The staff were very helpful, and the even assisted with luggage on the narrow staircase. We were offered breakfast having arrived from Australia at 7.00am and our luggage was stored until the room was ready. The only slight criticism we could offer was that we had to provide our own soap after the first night. This hotel is excellent value for money. Many thanks, Alex and Jill, Retirees from Australia (The tube station was very close.)

Michel It has been our first stay in an hotel in London. So I don't have much to compare with. Rooms are small but clean, well furnished. Breakfast is very good and plentifuf (even the english breakfast which is at the same price!). What missed a bit, is a lounge where you could read the guides and chat with the others guests. Michel

It was clean but rather small. We had a 3 bed room that they shoved a 4th in. It was a little tight. We only stayed one night so it wasn't so bad. If you are travelling with younger children, it would probably have been OK. But for a family with 2 teenagers - it was tight. We were looking for a cheap, clean place to stay for 1 night in London and that is exactly what we got!

The room was extremely small and the “double” bed looked more like a glorified single bed. I should have measured just how small it was because I would wake up every so few hours to make sure I hadn’t fallen off of it yet. The toilet seat is plastic and ours was broken, so when we complained to the front desk about it, it was fixed just enough to last one more use before breaking again. The sink was so small that I couldn’t fit both hands inside it at the same time (I don’t have large hands), and you could either burn your hands or freeze them inside this sink but you couldn’t get any warm water out of it (because the hot tap is on the left and the cold tap is on the right). The windows, although double paned, wouldn’t lock, making it easily openable from the outside (the front desk didn’t understand how this could possibly be an issue). When we attempted to get breakfast, the tiny room that held about 15 people was completely packed to capacity at both times we attempted to eat that morning, so we just went to Burger King next door. One great advantage to this hotel it is so close to the subway station, making it easy to run away from your room, which is what you will want to do once you step inside it.
