It was a nice hotel but it was really loud in the evening due to the windows are not isolated and you could not close them complete, so you could hear everything from the street-noise . Everything else was good and it would stay there again.

I hardly slept during the 2 nights I stayed. The square is very noisy, the windows don't shelter from that and on top of that my window didn't even close properly. Also the noises in the house were very disturbing. I could hear the guests above me talk and when they moved about in the room it sounded as if the ceiling was coming down. The room wasn't very clean. I have seen worse but especially the bathroom needs a proper deep cleaning and whatever touched the floor was left dusty. Breakfast was horrible, I only tried it the first morning. I know that one has to lower expectations when looking for accommodation in this price category in London, but I definitively would not return.

In London for a set of meetings and found the location excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel is just looking a little tired and in need of redecoration. Only really use the hotel to sleep in this time around so it was good that it was very quiet, even though it was only a stones throw from Kings Cross station.

The room was VERY small but as we read the reviews beforehand we knew that already and as we were only there to sleep, shower and rest for a short time it was all we needed. The logation was fantastic and I would go in that area again. The only things that could be done to make it better are to provide at least two towels per person staying and maybe a shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom.

It was my first time in London. The hotel is well located, close to the tube station, and grocery stores and 2 Internet cafés on the street behind. My room had sight to the park which is in front of the hotel. If you want to have some reflexion time, go there. Wi-fi signal was weak in my room, which was located in the last house (hotel is composed of 3-4 houses). Good value for money!

Maybe i don't ask for much, but this is a budget hotel. Bed, en-suite and cooked breakfast for £60 in London. Horses for courses, if you want more than a small room, go elsewhere and pay more. I needed a bed for the night and got one, though the big disappointment was the lack of hot water for a shower in the morning - though enough for a hot basin of water for a shave...

we stayed in a double room on the first floor. it was very small and noisy, but was clean. The breakfast was too much "english" (eggs, bacon etc.) but there were also tea, coffee, milk, cornflakes and jam. The hotel is easy to reach, the "king's cross station" is very close. near the hotel there are McDonald's (two), Burger king, kebab, market 24H,starbucks and pret a manger.

Breakfast is good, if you can enjoy the tipical English beakfast (eggs, bacon, bread, juice). Anyway, if you need a place just to sleep, it's ok.

PLEASE READ THIS: This hotel is really crappy!! I was traveling with my parents across Europe and this was the worse one over all! From the reception until the end. I reached the hotel around 16:00, the owner didn´t even had the will to show me exactly where my room was. I needed to go down deep stairs couple times with heavy luggage... When I found the room, there was a Russian lady - who barelly could speak english - cleaning the room... I didnt had the chance to leave my luggage inside and at least take a shower after a long trip. The food is really bad...! Every morning I felt like throwing out. The shower was making a really weird noise and annoying the other clients of the Hotel. A guy came to the room talking bad things and complaning about the noise. The staff was really rude and kept speaking Russian all the time. It just seems there´s a lack of people working there. A woman and 2 of her daughers cant run the administration alone. Im not talking only about the service, the SAFETY of the clients should be take as a serious thing. The room 65 (Where I stayed) is really downstairs and not safe at all. If there is a fire over there, everybody wouldnt get the chance to breath anything. My parents work for more than 20 years with Safety and Healthy Engineering and after they saw the "Fire break door" they are were really scared. It was made out of wood and really soft, if a little fire starts the London Fire Brigade won´t have time to save everybody.... I dont even know how the LONDON FIRE BRIGADE let a "hotel" like this be working in a city like London.

I don't recommend this hotel. The rooms are too little, old, dirty, untidy. We were three persons and we had only two towels each day. The bathroom was horribly. The breakfast is acceptable but you can drink only coffee. The communications to center of London are good because the King Cross Station is next to the hotel, but for 85 pounds/night you must have a better hotel.

For one night on a budget this was excellent for the price. Although initially dissapointed being in a small basement room (a bit musty, but not damp) with only a view from a small window looking out onto the backs of other rooms. The beds were comfortable and very clean. Shower and toilet also clean. The full English breakfast included in the price was very good and in a pleasant dining area. Staff were friendly. I would go here again for one or two nights but not for a week in a basement.

The hotelroom was expensive, tiny and uncomfortable, but i guess that works in a very popular travel destination like London. Sooner or later someone desperate, like me, would need a room badly and stumble into the trap. London is full of hotels like this in desperate need of renovation. I was expecting a small room but whoa! It was so small we could barely walk around the bed. And the bed moved around on the floor so easily which was annoying and made it even harder to get around the bed. We had a nice big window though but the park it looked out over was not all that pretty which was weird because all the parks in London were gorgeous. It was a convenient area being so close to the train stations. I stayed near Paddington station when I first got to London and I wish I had stayed in that area. It was much nicer than the area around St. Pancras. Overall, it was a decent place to stay.

Search another hotel, even you must pay something more. The room was minimal, the bathroom a shame, absolutely unbelievable. The heating running only sometimes, but anulled by the bed, put against the old radiator. We had not real furniture: only a tight cupboard, three drawers and no space to left the suitcases. We must ask for a second blanket, but both were like cigarette paper. The people in the reception was sinister, and the breakfast quite disgusting, we prefered to have some coffee and muffins in a starbucks! Search another hotel for your London holidays, is a friendly suggestion.

Hotel is OK for price except bathroom and TV. Bathroom needs a plumber. Not really clean. It´s very small, but that´s not the problem. But with a little bit of work you could improve that and repair that. They hadn´t got any SAT TV. And no remote available. They offer you a room in the dependance, which is usual, I would say. Overall Costs to repair all I would say 2 hours for the plumber, 30 Pound for new material for the bathroom and 30 Pound for a remote control. One person of the reception is not really competent, because I wanted a look at the room and the receptionist told me, why, I would have to pay anyway :-DDDDDDDDDDDDD Creative Consulting Austria

This hotel offered the value that I was looking while I was travelling alone. Great location with Kings Cross Rail/Underground/Bus less than two blocks away. *** Summertime would be tough with no A/C or Fan.

For London relationship (quality vs. price, quietness) it's okay.

The breakfasts were very disappointing - almost inedible. The staff were very overtaxed and couldn't serve the number of customers. The room was not in great shape. Overall a disappointment.

For price 50 it`s probably ok, but... There is no room for larger luggage. Bathroom really small. Something broken, but not dirty. 5 TV channels without remote. From window beautiful brick wall ;). Recommend for travellers with small budget and students. Really near by Kings Cross. You can use tube, bus and even take a walk around. Quit calm and safe in evenings.

Can recommanded this property. It is close to subway, train, bus (300m). There are shops and pubs around. It is possible to walk to centre - cca 30min. Our Room was really small as well as the bathroom but we expected it. It was clean. Breakfast was standard english - proper one. Surrounding seems to be safe and quiet - we had no problem with this. If you want to explore London, not to enjoy comfort of a hotel, this is good choice.Need a map to find the hotel.

Breakfast was not so good / no great variety of food -- not sufficient staff at breakfast during peak hours. Otherwise the stay was pleasant and all offerings/ services as described

Good B&B, nice breakfast (with bacon, sausages and fried eggs etc) Room is not clean enough, bathroom is very very small, without shampoo and shower gel. However, good price for short stay in London!

European Hotel is door Nr.14. We were sent to door Nr.20, another place, just like that. No explanation. Breakfast room very dirty. No phisical connection between Hotel and breakfast room. 2nd nigth fire alarm played 3 times. First more than 30 minutes. During 3 nigths drunking people singing and palying over nigth. The hotel is really bad. I never imagine it was possible to find it in London. The best: coming back home.

we stayed three nights there. we have to pay rooms in advance, room was like a small chamber in the basement, didnt saw the sky, first days we missed breakfast - thank goodness - athmosphere was ugly. ok - it was low-budget stay, location was very central near tube station knightbridge. If you are in the room only in the night without breakfast i would recommand this low-budget hotel otherwise please take an other one

Although the room is quite small, almost no spaces for luggage, it is just one block across the street from Kings Cross Station, easy access to the tube, bus and train. My room is on top floor (4th) and its a good exercise to take your luggage upstair thru the very narrow staircase. Breakfast is good and enough. If you travel on budget, its OK.

The room was cheap and close to King Cross. This hotel was not welcoming. It was a pay in advance type of establishment in a shady area of town. Most of the furniture was at least partially broken. The bathroom smelled of mildew. The window would not lock, which was worrying since the room was on the ground floor. I was glad to leave again in the morning. I will never go back.

First, the location of the European hotel is ideal if you arrive from Luton Airport via the Thameslink. It's barely 5 minutes walk from King's Cross station and most of transports. Then, the hotel is in a lovely and quiet square. The staff is very welcoming and helpful (we asked for a hairdryer - we got one a minute later). Rooms aren't very spacious but it's the same in most of big cities and it's really sufficent considering you only sleep in there. A very good point is that we had a private bathroom completely renovated and very clean, in the room. + Tea-coffee facilities in the room is great too. Second very good point: the traditionnal english breakfast in self-service (tea, coffee, baked beans, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toasts, jam, butter, orange juice...) You can avoid eating the whole day with such a substantial (and excellent) breakfast. The only annoying things we found were: one noisy room-neighbour and some strange smell coming from the bathroom in the second morning. Finally, I would definitely recommand this B&B. A very good relationship between price/quality and no extra fee when paying by credit card. I would not hesitate, I would go back there for my next trip to london.

Considering the price of £40 I thought the hotel room was very good value. Very close to Kings Cross/St Pancras which was useful and an effort had obviously been made to keep the room in a clean condition. I didn't get time to shower or eat breakfast before I left to catch my early train so can't comment on them. Overall though, I would probably use this hotel again when looking for a reasonably cheap room in london.

Bait and Switch This hotel has on their reservation page a disclaimer that they reserve the right to accomodate you in their "annex" which is really a fleabag motel just down the block, the "Elmwood" hotel. This is clearly bait and switch. I'm sure they are booking well past their availability and shuffling people down to the other hotel. There was not room to put a suitcase on the floor of this room, the walls were stained, you couldnt use the bath sink without standing in the doorway. I asked for another room and was refused. I will not be using this site again if this practice is an example of what is allowed by the hotels. I have complained to Venere and received no reply.

Horrible place to stay in: tiny and unclean room (hair in the bed, toilets and shower dirty), tiny bed (double bed is 1m20 large) and mattress too soft. At least we could have slept in that was all. But you can hear doors slamming and people talking in the room next door all night long (not sound proof), and the heating was so hot we had to open the window (winter time outside) when they suddenly decided to shut it down in the middle of the night... The worst night ever... we should not even pay for a place that sucks so much. The only good thing about the place is that it is 2 minutes walk from subway.

This hotel is quite close to King's Cross, the rooms are very small but clean, the bathroom is ok. The staff is helpful. The main advantage of this hotel is the price, quite reasonable (breakfast is included), and its location on the Circle Line. Drawbacks : the rooms are really small, and noise from other rooms and corridors cross easily through the walls. Not recommended for business or romantic holydays, but nice for travellers on a budget.

The 2 minutes to Kings X is accurate - you can see the station from the doorstep of the hotel. But it's in a quiet square overlooking a small park. Room was small, about 10 sq m, but very clean, new if basic furniture and a nice wood laminate floor. No lift, no air con, it's not that sort of place. Excellent value, particularly with breakfast thrown in, and an unbeatable location. Not a place for a romantic weekend break, but a good budget B&B especially when you are coming in late or leaving early from Kings X.
