This property was not located in a very good part of London. It was 2 minutes from the Tube, thankfully, so we did not have a very long walk to hotel. Rooms very old, basic, toilet took a long time to fill, making noise, bathroom floor sticky, ugh, only warm water for shower, not hot enough for a bath. Problems with safe, but management was quick to help. View across from hotel was ghetto looking, food choices good only if you like curry. A long way from central downtown area. Would not recommend unless there is nothing else anywhere.

A bit noisy in room 101 in the evening during the weekend. Music from the bar was going on until 02.30 am. Maybe it is less hearable in rooms at the third floor etc. Apart from that, it was a great hotel, spacious and fabulous rooms and kind and helpful staff. I will definitely stay there again.

I was allocated a four bed room to myself. Functional and slightly tired but clean and servicable. Room was at rear, so no traffic noise, but there was a constant noise in the room itself from central heating system. Staff friendly and efficient. Stayed one night and did not eat in hotel or take breakfast. Being located right next to Aldgate East tube and only 10 minutes walk into City is probably hotel's best attribute, plus being clean and reasonably cheap for London(I paid £79 for the night.) Whitechapel is not where everyone would choose to stay, but area is multi cultural, vibrant, and you can pop into Whitechapel gallery for free whilst there!

The hotel is conveniently situated just next to Exit 3 of the Algate East Tube station. I had a very pleasant stay in the City Hotel. The price is also very reasonable. The hot water flask was not so clean though. This is the only one thing I think the hotel can improve on. I like the idea of retaining the towel if it is still clean for use.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. We had a quadruple room, which was massive. The room was complete with fridge, plasma tv, clean en-suite bathroom, sofa, fan (useful for the summer heat) etc. There are also spacious lifts for luggage. Very close to Aldgate East tube station, but given there are so many exits for the tube station, we were easily lost in the area. Nevertheless, value for money! Will stay there again.

Excellent hotel - highly recommended. Close to tube and bus stops nearby so easy to get around the city. There was 2 of us and we got a big room with 2 double beds and a view of the Swiss Re building outside. Very good room for the money. We stayed for two nights (Friday and Saturday) and there was some street noise outside from people leaving the bar downstairs until about 3am. The room had double glazed windows though which helped and we did sleep quite well. But for the location and the price the little bit of street noise was not too off putting. I would stay there again though no problems although if you are a light sleeper and are staying during the weekend you might be wise to bring earplugs! We had breakfast in the hotel one morning. It was a small buffet and cost £10 each. Quite pricey really as theres plenty of places doing the same for less money. The staff also kindly kept our bags in a locked room after we checked out as we had an evening flight and didn't want to carry the bags all day. We flew into Stansted - took the Stansted express train to Liverpool St station. Went to the underground and took the pink line to Aldgate East. From there we followed the footpath down past Burger King and KFC and the hotel is on a side street to the left.

Really good quality hotel for cheap price;we were given a room that was early renovated and have LCD monitor tv, cable tv, spaciuos bathroom with tube and shower, and internet wireless connection for just 15pounds per week, that's a good price compared to the price you pay for a single day connection card in Italy. This is a real 3 stars hotel, Italian standards. Just a few staps from the Aldgate East underground station, walking distance from Liverpool Street Station, that's great if you arrive from Stansted Airport with Ryanair flights as we did. The hotel is not within the centre precint, but as you might know, in london you can reach all the destination you need with just some minutes travel using the underground.

We stayed in London for five days. Our general opinion about the City hotel was very good, especially if you consider value for money and also the position of the hotel, which is very close to the city centre and very-very close to the tube-station (Aldgate east). The room we had was in the second floor and so despite the noisy first impresion we had during our check-in process, due to the bar that is in the ground floor, the room was very quite, with view in the front road. Additionally the room could be considered to be 'huge' if it is compared to other rooms I stayed in 'Bed and Breafast hotels' in London in the past.

Over all the hotel was very nice, BUT: I stayed in a newly refurbished room in the 6th floor. The room was rather nice. But it had one big drawback that spoiled the whole stay: Every time somebody on the floor turned the faucet on, this made a LOUD noice - which woke me up every morning at about 5 a.m.! Therefore: As long as they did not fix this problem - don't stay there, if you want to get some sleep!

The hotel was nice with nice staff. We stayed in Triplle rooms and had to ask for extra towels each day, because the rooms were equiped with 2 towels only. The breakfast restaurant was located in a bar room, which did not offer comfortable table and chairs for breakfast - and with long delivery time for the pretty expensive breakfast. But except for this the stay was ok - and pleasant.

It looked as though they were in renovation, but it appeared as if they had been renovating it for quite some time. If you're looking for a place to sleep thats close to the metro, its good, but the room itself was a bit dirty, the toilet only flushed when it wanted to, and the employees didn't speak clear english, for a english speaking country. For the price we paid, we expected a bit cleaner place, but we only paid 50 pounds, which is the cheapest we found on venere.com

The fact that it's located so near Aldgate East tube station is a plus because you can get anywhere without walking a great deal. For a 3-star hotel, and for the price paid (£85/night for 2), this is a very good choice. For London standards, you can do much worse, and much more expensive. The room was actually surprisingly large and clean. The hotel is very well-kept, even though it is a very old building. It is situated right at the end of Brick Lane, with a great choice of restaurants and lively bars and clubs nearby. And it is next to the City, and relatively well-connected to anywhere in London. Only complaint: the extremely thin walls, and the noisy neigbours who did not let us sleep until 2:30. Overall, recommended for a (relatively) cheap visit to London.

The location is not correctly shown on your website and needs to be corrected. There is a great bar attached to the hotel and if you love curries you have a huge choice available to you as the hotel is near the famous brick lane. However, I have scored the services very low purely because the quality of the buffet breakfast is very disappointing for a hotel of this type and this price. The actual breakfast food itself is of inferior quality, clearly very cheap and there never seems to be any variation to what is on offer, though the staff are polite and friendly. If they could do something about the feedbackl the overall stay would be much better value for money and the scores closer to excellent. To my knowledge there are no separate public area offering the usual services e.g. with tv screens would be good for anyone wishing to watch live football without going to a pub), somewhere to work outside of room etc. Also, the number of satelite channels available in the room tv was very restricted. A bit of a disappointment for a room at this price. Finally, venere.com are excellent in that they are quick and efficient and respond back if tehre is a complication with a hotel or on any feedback...unlike many other web based businesses!

It was not clear, if the price you quotet was already charged off from you because I"d to give you my VISA number. After some discussions with the hotel staff, we learned that we had to pay the Hotel directly. This should have been mentioned from you.
