Room 1. Broken glass on entrance door. On complaint Desk said it had been so for months. Shower-head detached unable to spray water for Day 1. On complaint repairs carried out . No shower first night. Heavy malodour on entrance to room-redolent of latter day boarding houses. Room lighting totally inadequate even for any type of "Star" Hotel. Manager unavailable to discuss our problems. Room 2.Second Twin room booked but "Attic-type room" found on entry. Plenty bunk beds but no proper bed to sleep in-basically a family room. Latent areas not properly cleaned - unsatisfactory. On complaint an alternative room was offered for night 2 but none was provided. I was accompanied by my brother and sister all three being in our late sixties and we will not be staying there again. I used Venere.com before as my wife and I are regular travellers to Italy and always found it fine. PS MacCarthaigh

Though it seems far from the touristic center on the maps, this hotel is very well communicated with all the major tourist sites via the underground. The hotel was easy to find & very accommodating. The included breakfast, though not gourmet, was solid. I would absolutely recommend this site & plan to stay here on my next visit. N.B. - The total lack of air conditioning should be noted but will hardly be an annoyance outside of summer visits. The heating works quite well.

REALLY run down room in the basement. There was a coathanger holding the window up and trashcans outside the window - and I mean RIGHT outside the window. I was in desperate need of a chaep room for the night and this is what you get for 28 quid in London.

Disgusting!

The hotel was really dirty, our room was in the basement, with a window facing on a wall. Moreover the door of our room was communicating with the dinner-room. We didn't even try the breakfast (which was included in the fare) because it didn't look inviting at any way.

4 days in London to meet old friends and do sight seeing ( "LONDON WALKS" is a very good experience if you have a good level of English). All we wanted was a central place to stay and rather spend our money on going to interesting places. The hotel is certainly not of great luxuary but perfectly situated. The room was much better than I expected, even with a fridge, cooker and inside bathroom/WC. Breakfast was served by nice staff and reception was kind and helpful. Some noise but from other guests. Only real regret: the room could have been cleaner........ but for this price you hardly get any better in London, rather worse.

Low-budget accomodation. Good for people who simply want to sleep and have a sound breakfast in a centered hotel. Basic single room (no bathroom) quite small, very clean but noisy in the day (there's a working warehouse in the back). At check in ask for a no smokers' room. Very good connection by tube (2 lines!) only 5 minutes far by walking(Earl's court). Reception people very kind and professional. Hotel street/area very pleasant. Fair relationship between price and quality.

I booked this as I was looking for somewhere cheap (for London)fairly central, and near to an underground station. I selected this place based on its ratings and comments, which were a bit more promising than those for similar or cheaper places. 2-3 minute walk from Earls Court (or West Brompton Station) on a pleasant tree lined street. Friendly welcome, efficient check in. My room (30) was up 2 flights of stairs - No lifts (so not advised for those with mobility/breathing difficulties). I'd booked a single room with en-suite. Well, it was basic, dated and quite shabby - i felt as if I'd stepped back in time to the 50's/60's with a light that took forever to come on (with a few false starts) the wallpaper and heavy dark wood wardrobe. The curtain was hanging off its rail in parts. There was an ancient radio (didn't work) and a TV, which lost its picture frequently unless I stayed very still. The en-suite was small - no door, just a plastic shower curtain! WC, a tiny wash basin and a shower (which you had to hold - no where for it to hang from) Towel provided but no soap, shampoo/shower gel. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel (Though there is no communal area to relax, so I found myself stopping out late, rather than returning to my room. Ok! This all sounds very negative. Despite first appearances, my room WAS clean. My bed was comfortable, and the room was warm. There was very little traffic noise. Breakfast included in the price was served in a basement room. Tea or Coffee, then bacon, sausage, fried egg and baked beans plus 2 slices of toast. Pot of jam and butter on the table. This was cooked to order - and served by a pleasant gentleman. (Marks and Spencer 'Simply Food' and other shops near Earls Court tube to buy fruit, yogurts, juice etc to supplement this. Would I stay here again? Surprisingly, yes! (if I was having to stick to a budget, and just wanted a base to sleep) Good location, pleasant staff etc.

The room was simple and very small, with a comfortable bed and a good breakfast; perfect when you just need a place to leave your bags and head to the city, but not a good one to spend your day in. Boka has a very friendly and helpful staff and is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. However, the rooms really could use a renovation. In short-you get what you paid for.

I have often been to London, especially because I used to live there. And knowing how expensive it is, I was quite happy to find an hotel not that expensive for the Earl's Court area, which is on the Underground's Picadilly Line, quite close to the Center of London. As far as the hotel is concerned, I asked for a basic double room (with shared bathroom) and I got a nice double bed room with a private bathroom, with a little "kitchenette", with boiler, fridge, sink and tap provided. (The bathroom had the shower and toilet in it). Of course, it is not very big:the bedroom was not very large and the bathroom wasn't neither, but it wasn't as dirty and small as some had written on this website. As for the English Breakfast, it contains a sausage, tomato beans, fried egg and bacon, as well as a cup of tea and toasts. My 7yo daughter loved it! The only thing is that the Breakfast room looked more like a "tidying-up place" than an hotel room, for it had papers or I don't know what hidden under a cover on a full side of the room. Other than that, the woman preparing the Breakfast was kind of cold at first, but nice in the end.

We had seen some bad reviews but have to say that our stay was good, maybe different people look for different things . We stayed for two nights, staff very friendly and prices very good for the location . The room we had was very clean and had adequate facilities. Nice homemade breakfast. The area felt very safe and it was easy to get to all the places we needed . We would use it again and would recommend it to others who dont want to spend a lot of money but want to be in the centre of London.

I will not recommend the Boka Hotel to anyone. The service was only partially good, by that I mean that only a few of the staff were friendly and service-minded. The room was tiny and could not be meant for more than one person. There were broken items in the room, for instance a shower-cabinet and an oven. The electricity kept failing and the curtains were dirty. I will not be staying at the Boka Hotel again. There were somehow one positive thing about the location of the hotel, it was close to the underground.

The room is quite small and we need to use the staircase to our room which is located on the 2nd floor (it can be difficult if you have luggage with you). That night was a cold winter night in London (4°) and the heater was not working in our room. We have asked help from the receptionist (around 6:30pm) but he kept saying that he needed to wait for the manager to come back (maybe 9:00pm). We waited until we have fallen asleep. But the cold weather woke us up and we could not bear with it any more. We only managed to get a portable heater (10:17pm) after we demanded to see the manager at late hours. (Of course, we didn't see the manager at the end, the receiptionist kept the portable heater, we'd been told that if we pay some money to the receiptionist, we might get the heater eariler.)

The Boka hotel: only if you have had to much to drink... We stayed here in november 2008. The room was spacious, but certainly not clean. Little hairs on the bathroom walls said enough. The bed was more metal springs than soft.. The included breakfast was complete but very very fat, baked in too much oil. We also had some noisy neighbours (as in: drunk at 5 am going to bed). The floors are from wood and de walls very thin.

First the best thing about the hotel: the location. It is about 2min walk from the West Brompton tube station and about 5min from the Earls Court station. Why we did not like the hotel at all was its cleanliness. We did not trust the drawer to put any of our clothes into it. There were shagpiles and hairs on the floor and in the bathroom. The tap was scaly, the shower curtain mouldy. The room below us was being refurbished during our stay so we could not get long morning sleeps. Also we could clearly hear our neighbours talking during the night and singing under the shower. The heating did not work when we arrived so we got an electrical heater - this is at least a good point for the service. The breakfast was the traditional (?) English breakfast but it was very greasy so we went down for breakfast only once. I don't think the price we paid can account for all of our inconveniences - cleanliness is not an expensive thing and for this price you can get much better accomodation anywhere in Europe.

The room as well as the bathroom need badly to be renovated. It was dusty and dirty. The blanket was old and full of spots. Since we had booked it for 1 night only we decided to stay. I stayed in a single bedroom with shared bathroom. The sheets were clean, but nothing more than that. It is very close to the West Brompton and Earl's Court tube stations, therefore very easy to reach central London. However, despite the prices were the cheapest of London, and the personnel were quite friendly, you may like to stay another place if you're gonna spend some time in the room.

For the price, this hotel seemed unbeatable to me. Situated in Earls Court, very convenient for visiting attractions and for a direct link on the underground to Heathrow. The staff were friendly and helpful, bar one Yugoslavian lady who's adherence to cleaning and breakfast rotas seemed somewhat disturbing. When I arrived at the hotel I was made to feel welcome, and lucklily up-graded to a better room with bathroom and kitchenette at no extra cost! Breakfast was decent enough, there's no curfew so going out isn't a problem, and night regular night buses drop you off 5 mins walk away. I would definately stay here again... value for money!

The hotel was awful. We first had a room in the basement which smelled of fried eggs as it was right next to the kitchen. The room was small, dirty and with broken furniture. We then asked to change room and went to the second floor. This was a better room, but we never had any cleaning services, the bathroom was never cleaned, beds never made and room never vacumed. We had to go to the reception to ask for more toilet paper. We never went for breakfast because it smelt bad. When we asked for our room to be cleaned, the receptionist simply said it would be done and then it never was done. The mugs were dirty as well, just like everything else. The room was also cold, as the window did not close properly and the heater was not on. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed here (3 friends) to see a concert at Olympia. When we arrived we had booked a triple room and the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a quad at no extra cost at her own suggestion as the hotel had space. The room was bright, clean and airy with adequate space and facilities. We all used the shower and there was plenty of hot water. The towels and bedding were clean as was the kitchen area. The hotel is easy to reach from Earls Court tube and has lots of facilities around - shops, pubs etc. We had a great stay, would definitely book again. This is the cheapest hotel I could imagine in London and it's well situated. Of course don't expect much from the room. It was tiny, rather old and a bit dirty (but ok in my opinion). Also the bed was barely a double-bed, more like a large single one, so you'd better be both slim and sleep on your side if you're a couple.

Io ci tornerei!!!

They just did not understand and were adamant that I either ate breakfast as they wished or not at all. The staff were mostly good on the front desk. I stayed in Boka with my parents in a triple en suite room. The room is on the top of the hotel which made my parents a little hard to climb up. The last two floors from the top were just renovated and everything seemed clean and new. That's a pure luck. The room is not spacious but it has almost everything including a kitchen with fridge. The two days we stayed in London was the hottest days of the year about 30 degree outside, so we felt a little stuffy in the room. The great thing about this hotel is that it is very close to the Earls Court tube station about 5 minutes walk. The breakfast was OK. The staff was nice and helpful if you are kind to them as well. With such reasonable price and excellent location, we would definitely come back to stay in it. It was a pleasant experience.

Far better than we actually anticipated having read some reviews. In fact the picture in our case did not do justice to the room we received, although I assume we received one of the new rooms, it was very nice indeed. The only down side I would say and for constructive criticism that the breakfast room could do with brightening up. Apart from that we had a nice nights stay and will be using again.

I stayed three days in London and Boka hotel was the perfect place to stay as it was really cheap, clean and spacious rooms considering the price, and so close to Earl's court tube station, itself a few minutes tube away from the center of London. There is that the bathroom is really small, the hotel seems to be run by immigrants not always fluent in English and there was a window on the door of the room I slept into, letting the hallway's light in. But for the few days I stayed there, those weren't really important as I came to visit London thus didn't spend lots of time in the room. I'd recommend the place to people looking for a cheap and clean place with generous breakfast, not far from the Center of London. I don't regret my choice at all.

Not enough staff to clean the room during 5 days stay. Finally quite nice hotel in quiet area close to Victoria & Albert Museum, Nothing Hill and shops at Kensington High Street. Eating qiute well acording to the price, room refurnished but not clean. Acceptable.

Your hotel is worse than our gypsies live in Slovakia. There was a smell, dirty curtain and bed and non working toilet. And that smell was absolutely bleeeeeee. We stayed her only for one night, because we have arrived about 10,00 p.m. After seeing the room, we were look after another hotel, because it was absolutely shit.

We were 4 people stayed in hotel for 2 nights in 2 rooms. I paid same amount for each room. But one room has TV and one room doesn't has. One room was served with milk and tea bags stuff, soaps and shampoos and other room was not served. Telephone service is not available to contact reception. We came down from 3rd floor by using tiny stairs for getting water or to know any information. Since grocery shops are bit far from this hotel, it is good idea to maintain vending machines for at least water and other drinks. Otherwise it is very difficult for people like us in case we forgot to buy drinks on the way to hotel. We came to London for visit and very tired by the time we reached hotel and found nothing is available to buy in hotel like drinks and snacks. In that situation, I walked 15 mins to buy this stuff. I am very sorry to say that breakfast is very bad. We all are vegetarians and my parents do not take egg also. I and my wife managed with toasted bread, egg and tea. But for my parents, there was nothing to take in breakfast other than 2 toasted breads and tea. I didn't understand why this hotel hasn’t maintained serials. I guess serials in breakfast are common in all UK bed and breakfasts. Other than breakfast and telephone service, I can say this hotel is good for short stay. Maintaining lifts, vending machines for drinks and snacks is much advantage for guests like us.

It's right off the Earl's court underground stop. Down the street there's also a lot of places to eat and a couple super markets. My only complaint was no hot water. It was a great place for the cost.

The hotel was great but the fact that there were no elevator was a bit hard. Our room was on the highest floor and when we were done with the first flight of stairs, we saw the room number "26" so we thought that we had about 50 more flights of stairs. So we think that the room numbers should change since they cause a lof of panic. The batteries of the fire alarms should be changed too since it started beeping and we thought there was a fire so we were halfway down to the reception

I was rather apprehensive when making the reservation due to the mostly negative feedbacks from others . But the dirt cheap rate of 38 pounds per night was just too tempting. As it turned out I was pleasantly surprised . Obviously the hotel is still under renovations . I was given the top floor (attic) which had been renovated. Tiny room with full kitchen facilities and en suite bathroom. Really shouldn't complain for the cheap rate and apparent "luxurious" accommodation which it was when compared to quite a few other similar B&B places I had stayed charging 40 t0 50 pounds. I have rated the Boka highly but it is far from perfect . Major problem is the lack of lift. I had to lug my luggage up 7 flights of steep stairways to get to the 5th floor. More worrying are the many minor defects which the hotel hasn't bothered to attend to. The toilet seat in my newly renovated room seems to have been broken totally for sometime . Yes the toilet seat and I we fell/slid off the toilet bowl the first time I sat on it . The hot water tap in the wash basin does not fit the basin and a hazard to use. The hot water tap for the shower literally DRIBBLED luke warm water even when fully turned on. The windows have no blinds or curtains for privacy or blocking out the light . Yes for the 5 days I stayed there, I woke with the first ray of daylight at 6 am ! All these deficiencies are minor details that can be easily and should have been fixed ages ago . Otherwise , it is good value ( at 38 pounds).

Weekend break to take in the sights and sounds of London. Hotel was located very close to Underground stop and was approx 10 minuts to embankment which is where a lot of the sights were. However the hotel was not very clean and the bed sheets were stained. These werernt changed in the 3 days we were there. Also, no towels changed either. Breakfast was an experience, times were from 7:30 to 9:30 but when we arrived at 9:15 they were very disgruntled and simply gave us a cup of tea and toast and not the full breakfast on offer. Overall, i would not stay there again although i would imagine thare are worse places

This hotel, although far from glamorous, was safe and appeared to be clean. The rooms are small, but they aren't disgusting. The bathroom was clean, and the towels and linens were fresh. The location is superb--the hotel is a quick walk from the Earl's Court Tube stop, and since it's so cheap to stay there, it's a find. Definitely not a good choice for the traveller who wants lots of space and ritzy surroundings, but for the traveller who is comfortable with an old bed, a teensy room, etc. it's just fine.

As always London is just a great city to visit. The hotel is excellently located to travel to all the places of interest, and very close to the bus stop for coming home late . Our room was a fairly new one and very nicely done out. Staff were friendly and informative, nice cooked breakfast , will go back again.

The hotel's location is great. It is inexpensive hotel with appropriate service for adequate price. It is sitated in very nice area, near tube and bus station. The room was newly refurbished and clean (2nd floor), but there wasn't TV or hairdrayer but we have a fridge. The room was on the side the backyard which was in a mess. The atmosphere in a breakfast room is so let down that we couldn't enyoj breakfast. We could recommend to go out for breakfast (very nice bar is Trubadur and a pub at the begining of Earls Court Road).

First time in Boka Hotel, stayed in a twin room on second floor. 5 min walk to Earl's court underground satation and the exhibition center. Very practical if you arrive with Eurostar to St Pancras. Good hotel surroundings, many similiar hotels on the same street. Stuff helpful. Room very very small and basic. 2 beds and a fridge. Curtains falling down, not even a hook to put your coat on. TV was not working, they fixed it on the second day. The room gave to the backyard which was a mess, it seemed that there were workers doing painting and all materials were scattered around. Breakfast was toast-jam-butter or english but the atmosphere is so let down you fear the quality-freshness and cleanliness of what they offer. The hotel's location is great so I think they should renovate and make use of their property better.

The boka hotel is perfect for young people who want to spend some days in London without spend a lot of money!!! It's not expensive, located in a nice and quiet place, and offers everything you need for a short stay in London. The tube is just 3 minutes far away, and there are supermarkets and facilities all around. It's easy to reach the hotel even with night buses. I think I made a good choice!!!

After the reading the reviews we were not sure if the hotel would be good, so I only booked one night. Once we arrived and saw our room, I immediately booked two more nights. We had a very neat freshly renovated twin room with little kitchen area. It had plenty of room, even the bathroom was spacious. Water pressure in the shower was the only let down. Location was excellent. I was really surprised by this litte gem for such a good price.

Hotel was what I expected for that money. Room smelled, but you get use to it :) Double ensuite room was spacious enough, room cleaned/new towels every day. It had TV, fridge, cupboard for hanging clothes. Breakfast was cool-I would never have sausages and bacon at 7 am, but tried and was worth the experience. Quests can use kitchen at any times for cooking, didnt use myself, but seemed ok. Staff was nice and helpful. Hotel little far from centre and not enough nightbusses around
