This is an old, run-down hotel, but it clearly used to be nice. More importantly, even if it needs a refurb and have some spots and bruises, the staff is very nice and friendly and the cleaning is impecable! The breakfast is ok, not impressive, but not bad. So if you are travelling on a budget, you will get great value for money at Bayswater Inn.

I do not understand how you can get the hotel your stars, when they "put" peoble in the underground rooms with bad beds, nearly no light, dirty furniture and most of the inventar in the bathroom were broken. We were three grown ups, and the double bed was only about 25 cm more wide than a single.

There was no access to the internet at the kiosk downstairs. It took 20 minutes to load the google search page and that ate our one pound. The mattresses were attrocious. Springs sticking up made it impossible to sleep so we used the quilt, doubled over as a mattress pillow top to soften the sleep. A new mattress can't cost that much! Please replace the mattresses. Nice place otherwise, great location.

Rooms are VERY SMALL! The bed should be a double but is a little bit more than a single... but for that price is more than enough! It's in a central position with a lot of restaurants, clubs, supermarket and underground is at 2 minutes by walk! Amazing position! I think I'll go there again in future!! Very quite zone in front of a park.

We stayed at Bayswater Inn to visit family. Bayswater Inn is a nice and comfortable hotel with a nice staff. It is good value for money. Should we put anything on the minus side, the breakfast could be a little more interesting with a minor effort - but no complaints! We were all happy and will chose Bayswater Inn next time. It is close to Notting Hill and Portobello Road, boating experience from Litte Venice and a excellent location to all other places in London.

The room is nice, very quiet, very clean, the heater is warm enough, the staff in reception and restaurant are nice, breakfast is continental buffet. It takes about 10 minutes walk from the Bayswater station and there are many shops nearby.

The Inn has a couple of outstanding staff hwo make all the difference. My first room was a single in the basement, the size of a monk's cell. The window was mostly around the corner, so very little natural light. I was moved upstairs after two nights to a spacious room with large window, looking over the back and therefore very nice and quiet. London hotels are generally terrible, and this was a really good value-for-money place to stay. BRING your own SHAMPOO as they have none. That said, there are plenty of places where you can buy shampoo. And tonnes of good restaurants.

My negative experience was mainly based on two factors. The person who greeted me at the front desk was curt and unwelcoming. I was placed in a basement room where the carpet was dirty, the air quality was poor, the reading lamp did not work, the door key was difficult to use, and the kettle was lined with a black deposit. The front desk staff told me that no other rooms were available, even though I was among the first to arrive after the 3 p.m. check-in time. They eventually agreed to move me to an upper-floor room after the first night, to a room that was acceptable and had none of the problems mentioned above. The continental breakfast, though very basic, included some very nice fresh rolls and the dining room staff were efficient if rushed. However, I was glad to leave at the end of my three-day stay, and I would certainly never go there again.

A very disappointing hotel, from the impatient and unfriendly reception to the dirty and insecure room. Our room window could not be locked and was accessible from the outside. A staff smoking area next to our room afforded us a smoke filled hallway. In terms of location, the Bayswater tube line is not the best - trains were few and far between in order to get to the Picadilly line to get into town. Won't go back, and you should stay away, too.

We were given room 24 in the basement: How can you offer such a bad room for such a price ? Dark (electric light needed all day), wet, and not very clean (specially the bath tub). We asked for another room for the second night. Fortunately the staff was nice and gave us a room on 4th floor which was good. The continental breakfast (included in fare) was so bad that we skipped it the second day: Bad bread (not crusty), no toaster, no fruit, no cereal.

In general terms this hotel is a good choice as it is well located, very close to restaurants, stores, a mall as well as close to subway and bus stations. The rooms are confortable enough, but I DO have three negative comments on things I think should be taken care of: 1) One of the persons at hte front desk is quite rude. At first I thought it was simply a case of bad quemistry, but I saw that same attitude with other two guests. She makes you feel like you have arrived into one of those "by the highway" motels. It was the only person with an attitude (I dont´n know her nme but is a middle aged, black haired woman). 2) the map Venere.com provides to arrive at the hotel is useless. With all the other 5 hotels I had no trouble arriving with the provided maps, but in this case I just had to walk for like 25 minutes under some rain, until I got to the hotel, after asking direction to at least 5 persons. 3) For the price this hotel charges, breakfast could be better (it consists of bread, juice and coffe). I had just stayed at a very good, about same price hotel in Rome, which offered complimentary buffet....maybe I just got used to being spoiled!

The room was placed one level below ground level, so we had no view outside. But that did not matter much as the room was clean, quite and spacious enough for the four of us. They quickly repaired the toilet door that did not close. The hotel was a positive surprise after having read reviews about hotels in London!

Rooms were very unwelcoming - hardly room to put down suitcases and walk around the room which was not pristine. Bathroom whilst not dirty, was unsavoury with horrid grouting around the bath. Staff were severe and unwelcoming. BLT Sandwich purchased in restaurant took at least 20 minutes - then contain one piece of bacon, small piece of lettuce and small piece of tomato. Breakfast was weak orange juice, rolls and jam!!! Hardly continential!!! Cereal, and anything else was extra charge. Sorry but have nothing good to say about this place. By contract and for the same money, in Washington, we were given a room with king size bed in large and spotless room complete with toiletries and lots of towels, coffee machine, ice, and 16 days parking included.

The room was spacious and the neighborhood lovely BUT the halls and room reeked of cigarettes and raspberry disinfectant, the carpeting was dingy and stained and the staff treated customers as potential criminals. We had to carry a card with our name and room number on it to get our key from reception and we had to bring little breakfast coupons to get breakfast. Other customers had had their room changed and their room card was not returned to them. The receptionist found it but didn't want to give them their key to the new room because the other staff member did not write a new card. Although they had two computers for customer use in the lobby, they were out of order when we were there. We would NOT recommend this hotel.

First, we didn't even find the hotel because of the poor map attached to the hotel description. (Not even nearby living residents did know where to go.) When we arrived at the hotel, they told us it's not possible for us to pay with VISA, since we're staying just one night. After 5 minutes of negotiation with a poor english speaking trainee she asked someone - and - all of a sudden - it was no problem at all ("...if they want to pay with VISA, let them..."). Entering our room we realized, that it was not the double bed room we booked, but a room with 3 single beds, one of them a bit larger (1,20m). Asking for the room we booked they told us that the "large" bed in our room was the double bed we desired and that they won't give us another room. Finally, the breakfast was as lousy as the mould in our bathroom.

Due to person on duty not being English, instructions on how to get to hotel were not very clear. Our matresses were in very bad condition, had to try and sleep between the springs jutting into our ribs! The breakfasts were not very good - only rolls, toast and jam. The position of the hotel is excellent, the surrounding area very nice, with lovely shops and restaurants. Would difinately stay there again if we were assured that the matresses had been replaced.

Ci ritornerei senza dubbio.

We had a triple so the room was reasonably sized and it is located by a nice park but within a few blocks of the Underground and lots of shops and entertainment venues. The one problem we had was NO PARKING is available, even for checking in. We had a rental car and they directed us to a parking garage blocks away. When we arrived it was 50 pounds for 16 hours so I parked downtown London and took the Underground back and forth. Quite a hassle. Pleasant stay outside of that...

Quite a good priced hotel considering location and room space. Welcome, staff attitude and breakfast service could be improved and providing a frigobar is not a bad idea. I advice not to let personal belongings in your room. Excluding this problem I am satisfied of my staying.

When arriving to the Bayswater, I was told that they did not have a room for me and that I would have to go to another hotel. My sister had checked into this hotel a day earlier and they had a room for her, so I was confused as to why (even though I had a reservation with a reservation number) I was forced to go to another hotel. It worked out for me anyways because the other hotel I was sent to (The Pembridge Palace) was on the next street over from the Bayswater and was a much better hotel in every aspect (the breakfast was wonderful). My sister's room at the Bayswater was in the basement, was very small and the furniture and linens were old and not very clean. On several ocassions there were insects crawling around in the room! When she asked to be changed into another room, they said they did not have any rooms to change her into, and that she had to remain in this horrible room for the entire week she was in London! The breakfast at the Bayswater was not goo either. It consisted of some stale rolls and a beverage. Although the price of the room was good, the hotel was not. If you do not care about any of the problems mentioned above, then you can not beat the price for this hotel. But if you want any security in having a room when you arrive, and having a room that is half-way decent and free from crawling insects, then I would recommend finding a different hotel.

Due to the bargain rate we received, my husband and I tried to keep our expectations low, however there were some aspects of our stay which we found to be just poor customer service and/or poor business practices. Overall, the hotel was clean in apprearance but we did see cockroaches in our room. The hotel was extremely warm inside - the reception and guest rooms. It was almost unbearable. More than once the front desk staff gave us erroneous information (once it could've cost us missing our tour). My sister and brother arrived two days after us and by then the hotel was over-sold or something because they were sending everyone to other hotels. My sister and brother ended up in another hotel around the corner (lucky for them it was a lot nicer than the Bayswater).

Good value for money considering hotel rates in London and the location; rooms and beds are small, the toilet/shower microscopical, but service and cleanliness are good. Continental breakfast is not too rich. After all it can be a honest 2 star hotel.

It is very obvious, that the hotel has kept their focus on becoming a 3-star hotel by means of interiour e.g. tv and coffeemaker, but the service, cleanliness, breakfast and room only earn 1-star in my opinion. Go for a youth hostel instead.
