I paid a considerable amount of money to stay at this hotel and and on the whole I don't doubt the staff ensured the value for money

Although the staff was professional and welcoming, my single room was SMALL! It felt like a room on a little boat because it was extremely narrow which caused a little claustrophobia! It was clean, however, and had free wireless which was very appreciated. The shower and bathroom were the best part of the room, wider than the room with nice water pressure and warmth. The hotel is close to the underground - just around the corner - but is set quite away, not really walking distance, from most of the tourist areas.

Lovely hotel in every respect - one of the best I've ever stayed at of this type. Good location too - walkable to the university, Albert Docks, etc.

I stayed one night, heading back to the States after a month of travel in Europe. By this point in my journey, I was cranky and tired of hotels. Of course, the weather in London was awful and the Tube was on strike... again! Base2Stay managed to turn me into a happy camper despite all of that. The two people at the desk made dinner reservations for me, booked a cab to Heathrow at 5 am, offered laundry service, and made me feel pampered in a "cheap" hotel. The room was very small, but in a hip, "boutique" way that was all I needed. Very clean, comfortable (heated towel racks?!!), and a great value for my dollar/ pound. And the advantage of being able to cook and eat in your own room would add even more value to a stay, especially for couples or families. It sounds cheesy, but my one night at Base2Stay actually got me dreaming about my next trip!

I liked to stay here with my friends. The location is good, a walking distance to a tube, restaurants, pubs and markets. The staff was friendly and the room is great with a mini kitchen. I would stay here again.

Loved staying at the Base2Stay Kensington. It was quiet yet within easy walking distance of restaurants and grocery stores. The room was spacious and had a wonderful shower. We would definately stay here again!

Base2Stay: excellent experience: friendly, competent staff; tiny but very adequate room; an all right neighborhood served by the Number 74 bus (a great choice for Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Baker Street), the Earl's Court tube station, and the Blackbird pub. I would happily and confidently use Base2Stay again.

Nice hotel in a nice district (Earl's Court). Although we didn't explore much of the hotel's surroundings, it is close to train station and not far from the main sites of London. Room was very clean, bathroom was good, would definitely come back!

Highly recommend this hotel for people who will be be out on business or touring most of the day. First-rate reception staff: courteous, efficient, helpful at all times of day and night. Free wireless Internet in rooms. Single rooms quite small but ingeniously laid-out, with clean, modern en suite bathrooms. Only puzzling feature in the single room I stayed in was lack of space in closet to hang coats or trousers, and no hooks on walls. Hotel on a pleasant side street off the busier Earl's Court Road, a two-minute walk from Earl's Court Underground station, which is about 40 minutes on Piccadilly Line from Heathrow. Base2Stay has a good system of discount coupons for nearby restaurants. The Blackbird, an excellent real ale pub (listed in the 2009 CAMRA Good Beer guide), one minute away at the corner of Earl's Court Road and Barkston Gardens. Several major supermarkets and three laundromats within easy walking distance.

My daughter and I arrived to a long power outage that lasted the night we were there. Limited power was available when we arrived at about 3PM and we had that until about 8PM, then no power or hot and cold water from about 8 to 11PM. A generator arrived and provided power (and water) after that. We were promised a reduced rate, but that failed to happen on checkout. The hotel is modern and clean - and rooms are not too small, given that it is in London, a place famous for tiny hotel rooms. The location is great, and we would stay there again because of the location. It is 5 minutes from the Tube and many restaurants in the Earl's Court area.

The hotel is very clean, the staff very welcoming, and close to everything (two undergrounds, supermarkets...). The room spaciousness has nothing to do with north-american standards, single rooms are small, but their modern style make them look nice. Internet although inlcuded in my contract was free only on TV not with my laptop, that's something that pissed me off. You could do many things on TV surfing but not everything (live chat, download/upload...) Nice feature but limited. I couldn't make international calls and the reception although aware of the problem waited 3 days before sending someone to fix it. In the meantime, every time I called abroad I had to ask them to dial the number for me. Overall, very nice location, very nice hotel, might look expensive but hey it is London.

I thought the aparthotel was well-situated and that the finishes were good. The room was a bit on the small side, although the bathroom was adequate. There was a little too much street noise.

On leaving this hotel I made another booking for 3 weeks later. When I arrived, my booking had been cancelled, apparently because it had been entered wrongly and someone thought it was a duplication. No apology was offered. I waited 20 minutes to be given a room, which had to be an upgrade because no equivalent rooms were available. It was obvious they were juggling other people's rooms, to give me the minimum upgrade possible, and the duty manager was shaking her head at the prospect of having to upgrade anyone. To cap it all off, late at night I discovered the sheets hadn't been changed as they were obviously dirty. Getting clean sheets took about 30 minutes, and while I did get apologies I didn't like the staff's attitude - I was asked would I also like a clean duvet cover?!

I can't stand chintz, swirly carpets, trouserpresses, & the prospect of dragging myself downstairs at dawn to eat cold toast, weird cereal & rubbery scrambled eggs - all things I usually expect when staying at a UK hotel within my budget. So I was overjoyed with Base2Stay - clean, efficient, stylish & with everything you really need in a hotel: fabulous shower, lots of big fluffy towels, comfortable bed, a "real" hairdryer (not one of those hotel ones fixed to the wall)plus fridge, sink & microwave. Was very impressed that the tea, coffee & sugar in the room was Fairtrade. Hotel is in an excellent location, very close to Earl's Court tube & easy to find, with great pubs & wide choice of restaurants nearby. Room wasn't huge but I don't expect that in central London: it was very well laid out though, & didn't feel cramped. Not especially cheap, but reasonable & really good value for money, comfortable & quiet: we were only in London overnight & wanted to be fairly central. I would absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend Base2Stay to anyone with similar requirements, & would certainly stay there again. Thanks to everyone on this site who recommended it, which was why I booked it in the first place - it was just as good as you said!

Perfect for my needs - solo traveller (mid 50s) in London for business/pleasure. The room was very small but that was fine for me. Although the closet space was too short to hang my winter coat. The kitchen space had everything I needed. Big, modern bathroom. I particularly appreciated the e-mail/internet access through the TV.

Close to Earl's Court station. The room was a little small but otherwise cozy. The bathroom was larger and nicely furnished. Small refrigerator and microwave oven. Sainsbury's (5 minutes aways) has a large selection of items for heating. Negative point is the "High Speed Internet". It did not work well and you cannot connect your computer without paying a 8GBP daily rate.

The room I was given was miniscule - nearly the size of a train compartment - and NOT anything like to rooms illustrated on the website. Be very cautious of this. Call the hotel directly if possible and confirm the quality of your room assignment.

Great location, right behind the hotel is Earl's Court tube station. For those travelling light you can save on taxi fare. Clean rooms with good amenities. My kids liked it (one year and five year old) and so did my spouse.
