We had to pay five pounds to leave the luggage before the check-in. The key card has not worked twice, on our staying for four days. They missed to leave the towels in the bathroom. The room was very small.

The first night, we were in the basement, a room with no window and hardly any space to walk around. Very clausophobic, as we arrived at 2300, it was too late to complain. The next morning, I requested to move rooms with a window being present and they did move us with no concerns. the second room was much better. The value of the breakfast was very poor, for the £10 they charge, we expected so much more. The fresh fruit choice was granny smith apples, there was no option of fruit teas or de-caff drinks. Toast was already cooked, not very brown, and it looked like it had been standing around a long time. And the english breakfast they charged £15, for an english hotel I expected more, compared with other places I have stopped in. Don't think I will be stopping at this hotel again.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. My room was very old and smelly. There was no air conditioning in the room, there was a small desk top fan instead. I complained due to the amount of money i spent for this hotel and they moved me to the basement. The basement had all the newly remodeled rooms with air conditioning. These rooms are MUCH better than the rooms on level 2 and above. I was very pleased, until I came back to the hotel from a long day of touring and there were roaches in my room. I immediately called the front desk and asked them to come to the room. As the receptionist was in my room, a roach ran out from under the bed. We immediately picked up our luggage and left the room. We were then moved to another old smelly room with no air conditioning. I was so upset that i didn't sleep, i sat in the lobby most of the night and we left first thing in the morning. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!!!

I booked 4 nights at this hotel , for me and my 7 years old son on our first trip to London. We came before check in, but they do have a storage room. The staff was nice and tried to help as much as they can. The room was very small, no AC ( we went on summer, they provide a FAN for us ) , no refrigerator on the room, and the bed wasn't comfortable. As many people warning me , the hotels in London are not the same standard as in USA, so if they say is a three star hotel , get ready to go to something compared to a One star in USA. The location was what made me really happy, was a quiet neighborhood, very close to Earl's Court ( metro) . At night , for those who enjoy lounges and Bars, there plenty of places to go , as same for restaurants. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but you can find many coffee shops around. You can go walking to the Natural history Museum . I would recommend this hotel if you have in mind just a place to sleep at night, but not if you plan to spend some time just at the hotel ...

The rooms are way to small, there was hardly the possibility for two people to move inside the room. The twin beds had to be as close as a double bed because there wasn't space. Apart from that, the room looked clean, but if you book a twin or a double, note that some of the pictures in this website are misleading.

This Hotel meets what its says it is, for its cost per night it is excellent. The one thing that lets it down is the cost of food with a hot morning meal costing over 7 pounds per person, when you can walk about 5 mins from the hotel and get a bigger meal for about 4 pounds. Your are less then 5 mins walk from both the undergound and bus's, and the hotel can help you with getting to the airport if you ask. Over all a good hotel with all that you would wish for and more.

I would strongly suggest to leave out Hotel Ambassador from your list of hotels available for booking.

The hotel presents itself as a 3.5 star hotel on the Venere website. However, this hotel has a much lower standard than you would expect. The beds are absolutely horrible, and you can feel the bedsprings biting into your back and ribcage when you try to sleep. The staff were VERY rude when we arrived, and demanded payment before they let us into our rooms - if I had seen the rooms first I would have not payed! The rooms are AWFUL. VERY VERY LOW STANDARD, bad paint, horrible beds, ugly bathrooms with rusting metal taps and handles that appear not to have been renewed since 1975 at least. The furniture in the rooms is also lacking - there is no refrigerator and there are NO CHAIRS to sit in - only the AWFUL bed which is impossible to sleep in. There are some bookshelves that look like they were made by some 12 year old in his backyard. The TV was tiny, only 10 inches or so and they only had four channels on it - one of which was a channel that only showed japanese wrestling 24 hours a day. All in all I have to say this was an awful experience and I am never coming back to this hotel ever again. The staff were rude, and the rooms are hugely overpriced - you can get similar hotels for half the price. This hotel should only have 1.5 or 2 stars at the most. Absolutely ridiculous service and the staff are angry Russians who can't speak proper English.

I am a great believer in "you get what you pay for" which is why I expected a basic hotel for the price I paid. What I did not expect was the lack of basic manners and a tidy appearance from the staff, particularly the reception staff and a bathroom not caked in mould or rust. Our window was also sporting a huge crack and would not shut properly which would be fine during the height of summer but Guy Fawkes night??? As I was using my car I thought it best to ring ahead to find out about onsite parking. The receptionist informed me there is none and was not aware of anywhere else I could park. After asking to speak to someone who may be a little more informed I was told that I could park in the Holiday Inn hotel near by. Unless you go by the name of Al Fayed with the bank balance to match I would advise against this as you will be charged £30 per day. Unfortunately I was not informed of this beforehand and was charged £7 for driving into the carpark, reading the charges board and driving right back out again. I then had to spend the next hour negotiating ring roads and manic taxis to find a parking space which are mainly permit holders only! Like I said, for the price I paid I did not expect the Hilton but I do expect basic manners, standards of cleanliness and information. Unfortunately this was too much to ask of the Ambassadors.

Quality of room was about what you would expect for how cheap the room was. the place could use a little renovation but it is a passable place to stay.

It was OK for the price (in London) although not up to the standard of American hotels in the same price range. We did have ensuite baths. The bed was barely adequate and gave me a backache, but the linens were clean. They forgot our wakeup call but the alarm clock worked. Great location, though, with grocers, restaurants, Tube & bus, etc. nearby. Don't use their Internet station in the lobby. It was expensive and slow! We booked last minute--in future we would probably try for at least a three star.

A very small twinroom. A loud street in front of the hotel and windows who don't stop the noise! The bathroom is very old and a bit mouldy. This should not be in a 3 star hotel. The staff at the reception wasn't very friendly at checkin, but at the checkout the staff was friendly.

Rooms are dirty (stains on the walls, don't look at under your bed..., lousy carpet full of dirt), and not spacious, we had to jump over the bed to reach the window, to climb onto the toilets to close the door of the bathroom (not for fat people, neither for pregnant women);Few drops were coming out from the shower, they said they were going to fix it, so we had some more drops; if you stay several days, do not expect they will clean your bedroom neither give you clean spoons nor clean cups. People put they garbage in the corridor whose wall falls apart and in which you can smell meldew or powpow, it depends where you are. Doors slam all the time (have a good night!). Breakfast is also awfull, water is added in the milk and inthe juice, and if you dare take cooked food (if that can be said cooked), they will charge you 2,50 pounds. We saw employees drinking as the time they where supposed to help us for breakfast (Bristish style?????). I have never seen such a lousy place for such a price (they charge 115 pounds for a triple room!!!!). By the way, if you book through Venere and want to change something (number of people, type of room), you must do it through Venere, because even if they have available rooms they say they can not do anything on their own.

On arriving to the room we discovered the window was broken, the blind was split, the radiator wasn't working on a weekend when the temperature had dipped to -3 degrees, so we were supplied with an electric heater that had to be plugged in at the foot of the bed as there were no other power point available, this prevented us from being able to walk around the bed or being able to use the dressing table area. But the worst was yet to come when we discovered the hot water tap in the bathroom didn't work. The reception sent up an engineer that didn't have a clue what he was doing and actually admitted to this. Nearly half an hour later he somehow managed to fix the tap but admitted he didn't know how he had done it. Consequently the tap continued to drip throughout our stay (two nights only, thank goodness). We did try and request another room but where told none were available. On top of this the decor of the hotel is in need of drastic action, the carpets are filthy and everything looks shaby, battered and broken. At breakfast you are asked if you would like to upgrade to a full english, don't bother, the food was cold and there is no bacon on offer. Keep your money and go to the cafes around the corner instead. Our friends also stayed at this hotel with us and had a similar experience, they couldn't walk around the bed as the room was far too small, there room again was dirty and shabby throuhout and in need of redecoration, and what is the furniture all about. What a complete waste of space. I am awaiting a letter from the Manager of the hotel in resonse to the questionaire I filled out on my departure. I won't hold my breath.

low cost for London. double rooms are small, somewhat run down, and not well ventilated. the hotel itself is a short walk from the tube and near the museums.

We found the hotel excellent and in a good location. The bedrooms are a little on the small side and ours was overlooking a road, so a bit noisy, but on the whole, a good hotel in London.

Small room with a bit of noise in the night for people with light sleep. Breakfast quite good for the price. Well located.

Avoid visiting this hotel as it is better to stay in a box. Staff unwilling to help!!!

The breakfast is good, and also the position is very comfortable. The rooms are a little bit narrow, and the clean could be improved, but in general I think that this hotel has a very good ratio between price and quality.

Service was slow, breakfast area too small, not sure if all staff understood english, they certainly didnt acknowledge when spoken too. also they made no attempt to confirm you were happy. my price £45.00, summer quoted as £75.00 winter as £65.00 room was the smallest ive ever stayed at (and whoever decided swipecards were the future....

Whoever took the email reservation did not reserve the second room we had requested. We were asked to stay the first night in a basement room that was dirty and had mold growing on the ceiling. The next day there was a better room available. Sunday breakfast was TERRIBLE- there were not enough tables- other guests stood over us as we were eating, making us feel uncomfortable. The wait staff was surly when we requested enough silverware for the table.

I was informed that several people called and were told either the line was busy when it wasn't or it rang with no answer when I was there to answer it. There were also at least three messages left for me that I never received.
