The receptionist was wonderful, i got to the hotel by 8am and though checkin time is 2pm, he got me a room immediately. He was courteous and very friendly. The room was waaayyy bigger than i expected given the reviews i had read online and very clean too. It has a fridge and fan. I would definitely go back and will readily recommend the hotel to anyone. Excellent location and 2 minutes walk from the Gloucester Road tube station. Walking distance to Kensignton Highstreet. The only CON is the small flat TV with ONLY local channels! I couldn't believe it! Great WiFi though. All in all, you get excellent value for your money!

Typical London tourist hotel in a revamped group of houses. Microscopic room with bed and one chair. Good enough just to sleep in although the bed was so soft that I got a backache. Was asked for payment in advance and had to show reservation stating that payment is due upon departure. Breakfast poorest I have experienced. Will not stay there again.

When we arrived we were to early to check in, but the clerk at the reception let us put our luggage behind the counter. He gave us directions to some resteraunts and sights that were close by that we could see until it was time to check in. The room was clean but since this was my first time to England I thought it was a bit small, but my wife said that it was an average size for Europe. The clerk was helpfull in making reservations for a day tour. They had plenty of booklets on tours and places to visit. The hotel was close to a Metro station so day travel was easy and a small shopping center so we could get snacks for our days out. The hotel is was a pleasent one and I would stay there again the next time I travel to London.

Abcone Hotel is in a very quite area of London but at the same time very close to Gloucester Rd Tube Station. I was travelling with a friend of mine staying 4 nights in London. The only setback of this Hotel is the Continental breakfast. You only have a few pieces of toast, tea or coffee and some flakes. Otherwise is a very convenient stay at London.

Hotel was quite good value for the rating & the location - the bathroom was spotlessly clean while the bedroom carpet had some staining. Room was an adequate size, given it's a city location. Breakfast was disappointing - Continental consisted of orange juice, cereal, tea/coffee and toast; croissants or fresh fruit would make a small but welcome improvement. Excellent location - as described, 500m from Gloucester Rd.tube station, and area is very quiet for such a central location. Very quiet with no audible noise from other rooms within the hotel. Reception staff were very helpful but breakfast room staff, while polite, were not partiularly friendly.

I was impressed with this hotel for the 3-star rating. When we arrived it was clear that the staff had managed to loose our reservation, but they still managed to accommodate us in a room that was larger than what I paid for. Everything was clean. A few toiletries were provided, although shampoo was not one of them. The breakfast was very pleasant in an environment with natural lighting and the staff were polite.

The room was clean, but the blankets were stained. The room was extrememly small. The price was lower than the surrounding hotels, but saving 30 pounds wasn't worth it to me. I will pay extra next time. The staff was nice and helpful. A breakfast was included, but I didn't try it out.

The hotel is adequate, clean, well-located, fairly priced. Disrupting noise from Holiday Inn partiers across the street (into the wee hours, but not every night) affected sleep. Staff polite but not particularly friendly except for housekeeper. Despite agreement documents from Venere which made no mention of this, the establishment attempted to collect a "deposit" on my credit card about 2 weeks before my arrival. Card company asked my permission and I said "no." I then attempted to call the hotel, but could only get some sort of call center. When I arrived, my reservtion had been cancelled because the deposit was not paid. Fortunately there was a room available for me, and they charged the original price.

If you need a functional, typical hotel, this is it, especially for the price asked. The single room was large and the bathroom too. Surroundings quiet. Easy tube connections from Gloucester Road station. To arrive at the hotel from the station turn right and walk down the first street on your right past Holiday Inn on your right. One drawback: Avoid continental breakfast even if included. There are many much better alternatives when leaving the hotel. I would certainly return to this hotel.

This was a perfect hotel for a one-night stay... I chose it because the only complaint was mattresses too firm, something I look for in hotels. The person on duty was nice but quite distracted and I had to go back and forth several times just to get the proper room number. had a great sleep, very clean room/bathroom and would stay again.

Very good hotel, no expensive and good quality for room and breakfast. The street is very quiet, there are restaurants near this hotel and the best restaurant is "the Delhi" (an indian restaurant). Bus station is at 100 m and map station at 300 m so we are at London center very quikly. And Hyde Park is next to the hotel.

I stayed here for 2 nights in June. It is in an excellent location, 1 min from Gloucester Road station and 10 minute walk from V&A museum, so in a very safe and quiet area. Breakfast was surprisingly good - sometimes if a hotel offers continental breakfast that means a roll and some coffee, there was a good choice of cereal and in a very nice dining room with a terrace and fountain in the middle. My only issue was that there was some kind of clicking noise all night which I think was coming from the light outside my room, I had to buy earplugs for my second night there. However despite this I would recommend the hotel to friends and family travelling to London just because its location was unbeatable for the price.

I had the same problem than in Venece, they gave us a very bad room, and after we complain, they change to another. The breakfast service is too early and the people made it fast in order we run quickly to finish it early. They make us payed the room in the moment we arrived at 1,30 AM tired from the flight.

The hotel and its surrounding is great. The Underground station is just 5 min walk away and the buses with connections to Oxford St/Picadilly are also just around the corner. The hotel rooms are clean and quite "spacious" for London. Breakfast is as usual toast, jam, butter and cereal (there is a "Paul"s just opposite the Tube station ;-)). There are also a lot of restaurants in the area. All in all a decent hotel in a good neighbourhood.

Location is excellent, only a short walk from Gloucester Road Tube station. I had asked for a quiet room at the end of the hallway which I got. Size of room was adequate (especially when compared to the subsequent one on a **** establishment in Paddington my company booked me into later on), but could have been cleaner (carpet, especially in the corners and under/behind the bed, dusting superficial but bathroom clean). Was glad I'd brought slippers. Staff in breakfast room was not very competent or efficient and hardly understood English (we waited for more than 30 mins and were told only after asking again that they had run out of eggs and and to go buy some more). Staff at reception was friendly and helpful. All in all I would go back, especially since I like the area.

Very well situated, just 200 yards from underground. Bedroom was clean although the double bed was a bit a bit small, if I were to go again I´d book twin beds. The bathroom was good and the room had good facilities to make as much tea and coffee as you wanted. The staff´s English could have been better, but that wasn´t too much of a problem. The breakfast was good, and in general for a stay in London the hotel was fine.

It is usual to get a small room in London but due to early booking, the price as acceptable and I got the quiet room I'e requsted. Actually, the room was larger than @ a 4Star I changed to due to a business appointment. Also, the bathroom was recently refurbished and the room contained an adequate desk. However, the maid ought to pull the bed out and clean behind every once in a while. Staff @ breafast did not have a good command of English and English breakfast fell through due to lack of eggs one morning.

After traveling for most of the day; we were greeted rather rudely by the desk person- demanding we pay in advance for our stay...ok, no problem. Right after we pay is when she tells us the elevator is broken and we are on the top floor! Our room was tiny- only room to manage around one side of the bed- the bathroom had some problems which one mentioned were fixed, but seemed like stuff that shouldn't have been broken in the first place- (the shower door barely hanging, toilet wouldn't flush, etc...) so I wouldn't rate the hotel being great - but a decent value for the area-lots of 3-5 star in the same 3 blocks. This hotel is no more than a 2 star.

Very nice hotel. We can recommend it. We were two adults and two children and had a nice big room in at nice hotel close to the Underground and the museums we wanted to visit. The only negative thing was the breakfast hostesses who clearly saw the guests as a bother. They went about with extreme noise, banging all the cups and plates together so that we could hardly talk, and I have never before experienced to be kicked out at half past nine. Usually you are alowed to eat up the food on your plate - we had maybe three bites left so it would have taken us another 30 seconds. The girls were too much in a hurry to wait for that.

A lovely modernised old mansion in a quiet street, yet very handy to the tube(direct line in from Heathrow), also the double-decker sight-seeing bus stops at the end of the street. Tiny room! My husband and I had to consult each other if we wanted to move around or go into the bathroom. The staff wasn't helpful until I needed to download my boarding pass and the printer wasn't hooked up to the computer. The woman on duty logged into British air and got the seat assignments and boarding passes for me. This received 5 stars in my book. If only the rest of the staff had been as helpful. With the prices in London and the current shape of the dollar I gather that this isn't a bad deal though. The location was very good.

If you only need a clean bed for the night in central london and don't require all the expensive extras, then The Abcone Hotel can be ideal. Reception was efficient. My single room was on the top floor. It was tiny but I was only in it a few hours to sleep. (watch out for the window opening wide if you have kids). It was quiet and the bed was fine. Carpet a bit grubby. The shower was OK but the sink tap water wouldn't run cold. Continental breakfast (cereal, toast, juice and coffee) was all I needed. Cooked breakfast available at £3.95 extra. Overall good value at £55 by London standards for a clean room in Kensington, only 100m from Gloucester Road tube station.

The structure has good clean service. Room (mine was single) was quite small but confortable. Hotel is located in the one of the best part of London: South Kensington! No noise in the room, only the sound of the birds in the small park in front in the morning. Underground is very close, about 3 minute walk and it is the Piccadilly Line(line from Heathrow) that the journey takes about 35 minutes. Continental breakfast is normal, but no one tried the English breakfast.

We were two mothers with two daughters. It was very important to us to have a neat hotel situated close to the tube and to all major attractions. We were fully satisfied: our room for four was waiting for us, prepared , spacious and clean. The tube station was in one minute walk from the hotel and there was a small supermarket 24 hours open opposite the tube. Continental breakfast, that was included in price is not very rich, but quite satisfying. On the whole we were very delighted to find such a nice place to stay in London for such a good price. We'll advise anyone to come and stay in this hotel, and we'll surely return to it when in London.

We had a separate 2 day and 1 day stay (16th-18th Nov and 19th-20th). We checked in for the first 2 days and they gave us a basement room. It was really small and one of the bedsheets even had a hole! The shower curtain was not clean! I have pictures to prove it.It seems that this room has been converted and was not originally a hotel room. When we asked for another room, they said that they were sold out and did not have other rooms. We asked for a non smoking room, but incidentally, the ladies that work at the hotel smoke right there in the basement and you can smell the smoke from the room! Our second stay was better and I had insisted that I would only take upper floor rooms, which turned out to be more spacious! I would not stay here again, would rather at the other hotels in proximity(there are a bunch of them around there)and pay a few extra bucks! The only good memories of the hotel that I have are the location, which is within walking distance to the tube. There was also a great representative that we found at first check-out who was very informative and accomodating.(do not remember the name).

Hotel is clan and close to Gloucester station but staffs are not friendly, made wrong taxi fare estimation and not knowing the tax free process for Non-EU shoppers

Good all round. Good access to tube. Likely to be uncomfortable on a very hot day

Very quite place, in a calm and posh area. 1 minute on foot from the Gloucester Tube station. Nice Breakfast. Only one "complain": The water in the shower was lukewarm. Very clean.

Dati positivi: ottima posizione, silenziosissimo, pulito, personale cortese. Ci torneremo.

Discreto Hotel, piccole stanze ma pulite, ignobile doccia, scarsa colazione, cordialissimo lo staff: ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo

I requested a single room and was informed upon arrival none were available so was put in a "double room" in the basement with bars on the window and reception thumping above me. Never had such a horrible experience!!

Very satisfied with this hotel for the price! Yes, the single room was small - much like a cabin on a ship - but that's exactly what I expected. The bathroom was clean and of good quality, though not much hot water. Not a problem in May/June but might be in the winter. Didn't try to shower at night, which might have helped. Overall - great location, very quiet, very clean, good staff, loved the price!

This Hotel is a very good option for visiting London. Price is less than average from other Hotels with less quality. I do suggest this place.

Breakfast included - quite a deal. Small room, bathroom a little moldy smelling, light bulbs burned out. But for the quick visit it was fine.

We stayed a total of 5 nights at the Abcone. It was a reasonably priced hotel, clean, and close to the underground. The room was on the ground floor and we could hear noises from employees in the afternoon, but it was plenty quiet in the evening and at night. Continental breakfast was good and included in the price. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit in London.

The location was perfect - 3 minutes from Gloucester Road Tube Station. The district was nice - clean and safe - 10 minutes on foot from Natural History Museum and within walking distance from Hyde Park. The reception is really helpful - I was able to get my room just after I arrived even if it was 2 or 3 hours before checking in time. My room was really small but clean and comfortable, and I would like to stress that the bathroom was really good as compared to other hotel from this standard. The weaker point was breakfast - maybe to small for big gay, but as for me it was ok. I will definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel situated just a few hundred metres from the underground. And when you get up from underground take a turn left and another left and you will soon find the hotel. Service was nice and the rooms were small, but tidy. The shower was very nice and I can recommend this hotel for people who just wants to visit London for a week or so. No breakfast included in the price, but for 40 GBP, you can´t really expect it.

Our room was clean and not noisy at all. The location with respect to the tube is perfect. The staff tried always to help us. Maybe the breakfast could be a bit improved but was not too bad. I can consider to come back next time.
