Mons - Ljubljana

The positive points: lovely modern hotel, nice room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, convenient location for touring (NOT near center), shuttle service into Ljubljana. The negative points: Inablility of staff (albeit with smiles on their faces...) to solve simple problems like replacing broken ceiling light. Totally inaffective A/C in the room, with no possibility to change the temperature indoors(36 degrees C. outside!) Inefficiency of the gym's instructor: required "reserving" the use of the gym in advance (usually impossible) yet finding out that only one person was using the facilities when we weren't granted a "reservation". Expensive public parking with no discount for hotel guests: yet the parking lot was huge and nearly empty. The hotel rates are high enough to include parking fee!

Good hotel and very good welcoming. The service is perfect and hotel comfortable. Very easy to find, close to center (by car), and located in a park. A good address that I recommend. And Ljubljana is a very nice city to visit !

Beautifully designed/decorated hotel with competent, welcoming staff. Bountiful breakfast. In an area on the edge of town but roads are well-marked with directional signs to hotel. Also, there is a free shuttle that goes between hotel and Old Town.

We stayed here on a last-minute change of plans, and we were thrilled by the hotel and the city. Slovenia charmed us, and we fell in love with this city. Hotel Mons was a perfect choice. It’s just off the ring highway, and set in a wooded area. I had a lovely walk from the hotel along the woods to the biking/running path that encircles the whole city. Access to the hotel is easy, parking is right in front; honestly it was easier than staying “in” the city, and it is situated in a beautiful, relaxing area. We were on the 1st floor (in Europe, that’s up one floor) in a very airy, clean, modern room. It looked out on the green forest. Internet was by a cable in the room (free). We ate dinner outside at the Abdecarium restaurant with a table along the river; a perfect choice and a nice dinner. We watched ballet in the outdoor stage in the center of town. Classical ballet, with ballerinas and tutus and music! What’s not to love about Ljubljana? We can’t wait to return, and would stay again in Hotel Mons, absolutely.

Perfect hotel for very traveller!!!

The room was too noisy.In the mornings we had to wake up with somebody moving the furniture on both days. Also we were not very happy the housekeeping just trying to walk in to our room at 9am on sunday! she simply knocked once and opened the door.

An incredible hotel at an incredible value. Staff always went above and beyond. Friendly, helpful, eager. Shuttle bus into center of Ljubljana left every hour, on the hour - free and easy to use. Will absolutely stay at this hotel again.

The shuttle service to the town centre is very handy - too far to walk. Staff are friendly. The restaurant in the lower ground floor is more like a caffeteria. The main restaurant where breakfast is served is better. Overall enjoyable stay. More popular for conferences based on observation during our stay.

Modern hotel, clean rooms, pleasant spaces, nice staff. hotel is sorrounded by wood (and highway) and in 8 minutes of car you are in the city center. perfect

In general hotel very good. rooms ok, deco nice, restaurant could be better, more appealing as we only had breakfast, restaurant staff not communicative, talkative, possibly because of lack of english language, reception helpful, good idea to have the shuttle bus, we missed the sign of hotel as it was right at the hotel turning point... I am in the hotel business and i tend to look at details......

We stayed in Ljubljana for one night, my wife and another couple. It was for new year's before slovenia changed to the euro. The hotel and amenities were excellent, the staff seemed a little impatient and one even yelled at me for reserving the bus then needing to cancel.
