The hotel is NOT 5 min from the rail station - maybe 15 min IF you know the way. Otherwise 10-12 E taxi fare. Hotel is very isolated, so one must get to the rail station to find public transit. However, room was fine (beautiful bathroom), and evening meal at hotel was excelent. Free water and coffe in lobby are nice extras. Staff war friendly and helpful.

This was our first visit to Livorno, and we needed a hotel that was easy to drive to. Hotel Max is not in a pretty part of town, but it is very convenient from the autostrada, and the hotel itself is attractive. We had a spotlessly clean room with a comfortable bed and modern décor. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a very good selection of fresh fruit, cheese, meat, bread and pastries. We enjoyed the hotel and thought it was excellent value for money.

We stayed in Max hotel Livorno just for 1 night because we were going to Corse, leaving from Livorno harbour, as final holidays destination, but I recommend this hotel. Very clean, elegant, kind & professional employees and good price: for a double room in the middle of july, we spent €105 (for room, not each) breakfast and frigobar included. It's not very close to city pedestrian center, you need a car, but they offer a real good relationship price/quality. And, if interested, the harbour is just few minutes by car.

We missed our connection (boat/train) in Livorno and had to overnight there. Walking distance from the train station, excellent restaurant, cosy accomodation: a nice hitch, after all.

Reception personnel was uninterested and had zero local knowledge, internet access is greatly overpriced, hot breakfast was finished at 07.30 and not replaced. The hotel is situated in an isolated area and a car is needed to get into town (I knew this but the rest was a disappointment !).

We had been there 2 years ago when the hotel was named AC Livorno .At that time we found it good and we were impressed by the service and the quality of the food .This is the reason why we went there this year for a night on our travel back home to Corsica . This second stay was very desappointing . The welcoming was ok but we found the room not at the level it was 2 years ago , even if the bar was free ...The very black point was the restaurant were we had to wait one hour to get the first meal ...and not complete ! . We got first the surroundings ( Vegetables ) and were obliged to wait another half an hour to get the fish .( ... after several calls and reminders to the waiters ...) Of course the vegetable in the meantime were cold and i refused them . I complained about all this and got the apologies of the 2 poor waiters left alone facing in mean time the service of a big group of travellers . They were doing their best but without a real efficiency in such a mess .Nobody of the staff was showing up . At the neighbouring table the customers had the same problems . The place was really noisy and we had only one wish : go back to our room just after the coffee we ordered just after the fish in order to shorten this desaster . One positive point : The coffees and the vegetable were offered because of my complaint . I told the poor waiters that my complaint was not aiming a free gift of their staff , but a correct dinner ... The room was noisy in the 2 first hours but then quiet during the night . We were expecting hotel surroundings improved vs 2 years ago ( at that time we were told that AC livorno was just opened and this was the reason why the surroundings were not very attractive ...) Two years after we found them even worse ! In overall our rating is betewwen 3 and 4 and we definitively not recommend such an hotel .Sorry to say that after the satisfaction we had during the previous stay .

We arrived quite late (due to difficulty getting a taxi from the wharf). This was the first time staying at a MAX hotel but would have absolutely no hestitation in doing so again. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - we had a bit of trouble with the air con which they immediately came to our room and rectified - our fault. The rooms were extremely well appointed and quiet. Breakfast was also very good.

A very business oriented hotel also offers an excelent quality/price ratio for week-end discoveries of the beatiful seaside in Tuscany. Hotel staff is most welcoming and offers great inside for dining out. Every room has a bathtub, which is very nice.

Comfortably reachable from the highway, in a quiet area partially still under construction. New building. Good price for the category but a promotion applied.

This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms were excellent. The surroundings are not that great but if you have a car the city center is just ten minutes away. We arrived late (and needed help on the next day) but the hotel porter was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Un hotel di classe a prezzi tutto sommato contenuti. Vicino all'autostrada e al centro.

A first class hotel, really. We were surprised about the high quality of design, furniture and, all in all, of the comfort. To be recommended.

Business travelers hotel located in more of a commercial area. The hotel was beautiful, very modern and the breakfast was the best we experienced in all of Italy. Not great scenery, but the service and the hotel were great.

A very negative issue in our accomodation was a water supply problem, that avoided us to take a bath not before midnight. Hope it was an eventual issue.

The hotel is designed for a short stay business traveller. It is located in a semi industrial area with good access by road and close to the railway station although a walk is not recommended. It has very limited leisure facilities and the rooms are clean and spacious (as expected for a 4 star hotel).

Very modern and efficient hotel, the rooms , including the bathrooms are very attractive, the design of the rooms is outstanding, many amenities like shaving set, comb etc. The public areas offer exactly what is described on the web. We had a double and a triple room , both very satisfying. The breakfast also is good and generous. If in Livorno we would cetainly return to the property.

Welcoming was quiet good, but the service at the restaurant was really poor! We almost felt like we were disturbing! The room was realy nice, but the surrounding really ugly. Hopefully we stayed there only for a night. I don't know where they got theyre fourth star, three would be more appropriate. Maybe it was just bad luck, but although the hotel is very nice, an effort should be made to make the customer feel welcome.
