Da non ripetere. In particolare da dimenticare: la puzza nel bagno e la colazione mattinale.

The bathroom was the worst I ever had. It was clean, but small and toilet was not working properly. The breakfast was not according to expectations.

Albergo squallido, hall disordinata e poco pulita (divanetti tutti macchiati),mancanza di ascensore, scarsa qualità della prima colazione e poca pulizia (tovagliette sporche!!!). Esperienza che non ripeteremo.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located for access to the port. However: The rooms are tatty, the doors fall off on the shower cubicle if you try to close them etc. Loud TV at 1.20 a.m., people shouting in corridors ... Three stars - never.

We stayed here the night before catching the ferry to Corsica. It's an excellent location for access to the port. And the price is good. The room was very basic but quiet and comfortable. But what we didn't know is that you can have a cabin on the ferry overnight the night before sailing, which would make a lot more sense if we were doing this again.

Definitely not worth 3 stars or the price extorted. We had a triple (couple and adult daughter) which was basic. Car parking at Eu13 in a nearly-impossible spot underground nearby and having to carry luggage to and from the hotel was an expensive and exploitative minus. Like many others, we were in Livorno to catch the ferry to Corse or Sardinia, so car was essential. One reading lamp was not only broken but didn't have a globe. View was on to a courtyard with washing, bicycles and a brick wall. Internet access advertised was unavailable. Breakfast was included but don't bother. Would be good value at half the price.

The hotel was very expensive for the quality of the room and the breakfast. The description said parking was available but we needed to pay extra to use the parking lot.

There is nothing to do or see in Livorno. The hotel is in the middle of the town center and close to the ferry. In the morning there is a lot of noise because of the close market.

Very helpful hotel owner helped us with lots of telephone calls in order to get back forgotten luggage on the airport in Pisa. Bed was too soft, as almost everywhere in Italy. Breakfast was very disappointing and did not at all match the standard of a three stars hotel.

I think 108 € is a bit too expensive for an overnight stay in Livorno....

We saw and visited a hotel in Livorno (not included in venere.com) named "Hotel Gran Duca" that was 1. located nicely with view on the sea/port, 2. had a by far more appealing aspect inside and outside, 3. had the same categoty (***) and had 4. lower prices. Therefore, we feel the relationship between price and quality in the hotel "Città" inadequate.

The staff were very helpful, recommending an excellent local restaurant, providng breakfast at an early hour, and giving us directions to the ferry port. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, although during the evening we were aware of quite a high level of noise from children playing on the floor above us - this was not a problem during the night. The hotel is located in the fruit and vegetable market area - not specially attractive particularly in the evenings when the stalls are closed and there is some rubbish in evidence, but we quite liked being in a 'real' part of the town rather than a tourist venue, and it is certainly a central location. The hotel provides parking in a locked garage for an additional fee which we used. Overall the hotel was well suited to our needs - a comfortable overnight stop prior to taking the morning ferry to Corsica.
