Marques De Pombal Hotel - Lisbon

An excellent experience with very professional staff.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is very central, rooms are fine and although ours looked out onto a busy road it was quiet. Breakfast was excellent. Bar was very quiet at night and bar staff were not friendly, but otherwise hotel was great and would definitely recommend it as good value for money.

A comfortable hotel in a reasonable position. Very handy for hop on, hop off bus depot.

It was my first visit to Lisbon. Very nice hotel! I would defenetly return! Staff is friendly and competent. The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern, according to the hotel's website they were completely renovated in 2009. The breakfast is good. Only the breakfast room could be a little more spacious.

Very nice hotel. The staff very kind and helpful. The buffet breakfast rich, but could have been varied a little bit more.

Very good accommodation for Lisboa, above all because the AVIS Office (rent a car) is located in the same hotel. Therefore a perfect choice to visit Lisboa and travel around Portugal.

Excellent location (albeit with few restaurants nearby), quiet rooms, pleasant and spacious bar, good service & high standard food in dining room. All-in-all a most enjoyable stay.

Stayed at Marques de Pombal for 3 nights with 3 girlfriends. Brilliant location giving access to some fantastic restaurants frequented by locals. We wouldn't have found these if we had stayed somewhere else.10 min stroll into the centre passing many designer shops. Rooms clean and spacious.Hotel staff extremely helpful especially Ricardo. Only negative was that milk was not included with the tea and coffee making facilities and we were informed by room service that we would have to pay for it. Would definately recommend this hotel and will be staying there next time we visit Lisbon.

Very good hotel in the new center of Lissabon. Good connection to metro. Reustarant is very recommended and I very recommend to try pumpkin soop.

Well localized. Very queit, well run and well maintained. Breakfast room small but adequate. Certainly worth the money.

Only one weakness: the breakfast room should be a bit more spacious.

I certainly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff were very helpful, however the entrance area is a little bit small. We were delighted to be able to purchase tickets for Oceanario direct from the hotel.

El Hotel está muy bien situado, en la Avenida da Liberdade, el equivalente a la Castellana en Madrid. Por eso las Habitaciones de los primeros pisos que dan a la Avenida son un poco ruidosas, mejores las de la calle lateral. El desayuno correcto, y la limpieza y las habitaciones muy buenas.

I was there in may/2007 and referend this hotel as excelent.

Hotel is located on the shiniest district of Lisbon city center with a lot of luxurious hotels and shops around. It takes 10-15 minutes on foot to the pedestrian area. It is a quite old building, most likely renovated; but, old is still old and it creates problems. The major problem is the air conditioner; even if you turn it off, there is a disturbing noise of water passing every two hours. It is not easy to sleep for the noise sensitive ones. We changed our room and it was the same thing. Moreover, rooms are quite small and the public area is quite limited. I think for the money we paid (135€ per night), we could have found something better than this.

I'd like to be back and strongly recommend it.

Took the trip to see some real Portugal (we were staying Algarve, chilling). A beautiful city with some real culture, history adn shopping! Would recommend it to anyone for a 3 day break and definitely going back. First thinkg you should do is the tour on the open top bus to get your bearings.

An excellent hotel, good value for money. If it were just a couple of hundred metres closer to the city centre it would have been unbeatable.

Rooms were absolutely quiet, clean and spacy, staff very polite and friendly, breakfast OK with enough variability for one week, the servants there a little bit to eager to take away the used plates, cups and cutlery. The position of the hotel is very good, only some steps from the Metro station and 100 - 250 meters to 2 bus stations (important on weekends when the metro is closed). It's also possible to walk to the city (Rossio place), 20 minutes to go, I estimate.

The hotel is more convenient than first appears, although parking is a bit of a drag - especially at first. Several trips around the block trying to figure out the one way streets and such. But the hotel, the attentiveness of everyone we dealt with, the breakfast and our room was wonderful.

A very nice hotel with a warm welcome! Good location about 15 minutes walk from downtown, with nicely decorated rooms. It provided everything we needed and we will absolutely recommend this hotel to friends.

Very friendly & professional service - including parking our car for us. They had recieved information from Venere that is was our honeymoon and left us a bottle of chilled champagne and "congratulations" chocolate cake. The only special thing by any hotel during our 6 week trip. A high standard 4 star compared to many we stayed in. Rooms are modern and tastefully furnished. Helpful having a underground carpark(paid)onsite especially in a main city. Very conveniently located next to both a metro stop and a bus stop.

Had a great stay - would definitely recommend it to anyone
