Very good value for money. Rooms on front had some traffic noise, but only a side street. Can't comment on breakfast - ate out. 20-25 minute walk down hill to centre - a bit longer and harder coming back. Best to get a Metro card which makes trips less than 1E. Then it's a five minute walk to Anjos metro, then 5 mins trip to Praca Rossio in the centre. DON'T use the trams. Very expensive - 2.70E - and always packed in like sardines. Consequently a magnet for pickpockets as I discovered on day 2, when I went to the police to report that my camera had been removed from the pouch attached to my belt. My own fault, I suppose, but it's a pity we have to always be guarding our possessions in these big cities. The police say the worst culprits are 10-12 yr old girls who operate in small groups. There are plain clothes officers on the trams, but it is, apparently, very difficult to catch them in possession as they move the items on to accomplices very quickly. So be warned! The metro feels very safe, as it doesn't get as crowded, but you need to be careful. The surface trains are quite good and inexpensive also. A day trip to Estoril or Cascais on the coast is very simple. Take the metro to the end of the line (Cais do Sodre)and change to the Cascais overground trains which runs every 20 minutes. A very pleasant trip. I think it was about 2.5E return. You can also get a train from here to Belem, which saves a long walk. The most popular eating places seem to be in the pedestrianised streets between P Rossio and P do Comercio; but we found the street immediately behind the Theatre on the north side of P Rossio to be more atmospheric and entertaining. Finally, you will find that lots of the street names on the plaques don't relate to the name on the street maps! Enjoy your stay - a lovely city, with lots of atmosphere and very friendly and helpful people.

spent 2 nights there, the room was just perfect for a tourist eager to get out to the city. The bed was awesome, the bath correct albeit a little small. The neighboors next room where VERY noisy but not on my sleeping hours at night so no biggie. The minibar was empty... wtf? Overall stay was good. Will go back.

The hotel is sleek and stylish. The location is very convenient to the Anjos Metro Station (the Lisbon Metro is clean and very convenient - you are just 5-10 minutes from almost every major location once you are on the Metro). The staff was competent but not very friendly which was odd since almost everywhere we went in Lisbon we met very friendly people. The one serious issue we had with the hotel was the size of the room - it was very small. It would have been OK for one person but for two people it was very crowded - the closet was tiny and there were no drawers so we had to stack our suitcases and clothes on the desk, the bathroom was rather small with only a glass door so no privacy at all. We did see a few other rooms as we passed by and they looked much larger so if you are staying here then spend the extra money to get one of the larger rooms. On a side note - if you are going to Lisbon we highly recommend the LisbonCard - it covers all Metro, bus, funicular and tram rides, the train to Sintra and Cascais, free admission to many of the important sites and a discount on most of the rest so it is money well spent if you plan to use the local tranportation and visit the key sites.

I was disappointed by the small size of the room, its location, the indifference of the reception desk staff and the breakfast. But the room was clean and the bathroom clean although tiny. I made a decision based upon price and got what I bargained for.

Was pleased with the hotel, very clean and modern. The room was small and the door to get out on the balcony was so small we couldn't fit our stroller out of it to give us more space in the room. The area is nice but the park up the street looks a little shady at night. Everything you need is close by shops, groceries, restaurants, subway etc. The reception guy needs to work on his attitude a little bit....not the most welcoming guy! I would recomend this hotel. Clean and good value for the money!

Excellent small and modern hotel in a quiet residential neighbourhood, 5 mins walk from Anjos metro station and only 3 stops into central Lisbon. Good breakfast buffet, although sometimes slightly disorganised.

Luxe Hotel was modern and very clean and rooms were quiet. We didn't eat breakfast as it got bad reviews! Bus,metro and taxi were all available from the hotel. Rooms were always clean and very comfortable, and it was good to have a walk-in shower. The only negative we found was front desk staff - they were quite cold initially. If you persevered you got information from them and the occasional smile but they were not welcoming at all and certainly didn't sell Lisbon. However, we had our itinerary so managed without their assistance. Would recommend the hotel on all other fronts.

Great hotel, very clean, on a quiet street. Just 5 euros from city center by taxi or only 3 tube stops (by the way - only 7 euros from or to the airport). We paid just 65 euros per night and stayed there for 4 nights. Overall it was a great expirience.because the hotel has been just built in 2010 everything is brand new and look very trendy. The room and common areas are very clean and our room was quite spacious (considering other hotels in Europe especially in the UK and Paris). You`ve even got a radio speakers in the bathroom. We`d deffinetely recommend this hotel if you`re looking for inexpensive accomodation in Central Lisbon.

We were very pleased with our stay. It is a nice hotel, quiet and clean. We would like to come back, especially if they could improve the breakfast including the breakfast room. It is okay with a buffet breakfast, but please heighten the quality. It is just too lousy as it is now. Cheapest jam, cheese, ham, bread etc. Juice wasn't juice, but some colored water. The coffee was not good. Cereals could be eaten from a small tin cup (normally used for serving ice cream) which could not contain a normal portion of cereals. There was only one staff member, who had difficulties with catching up with filling trays, bowls, coffee powder etc. Moreover, the breakfast room was very small and it was difficult to maneuver between the tables. The following quote is from the hotel website: "Guests can enjoy a daily continental breakfast at the Luxe Hotel By Turin Hoteis. The hotel also features a bar." You can figure out for your self what I think of the breakfast. But I would also not recommend the wording "features a bar"! It is not a bar but a reception with an espresso machine and some liquor bottles. Use this hotel just for sleeping and go to another place for breakfast (and bar).

This small hotel is a gem. It suited us very well, an excellent value for the price. It is brand new, opening in April 2010. Although it is on a side street in a quiet part of downtown Lisbon, the location was quiet and safe, serving us well. The evening desk clerk gave us a map and pointed out how to get to the main downtown tourist areas and the outlying Gulbenkian Museum. We walked as the subway was shut down by a general strike. The hotel has an excellent breakfast room but no restaurant We found the O Raposo,a neighbourhood restaurant just up the street (60) excellent. There are several other nearby options. The WiFi was strong in the lobby but generally weak in our room. We will book with Venere and stay here again if we ever return to Lisbon.

Our Room was very clean, very quiet but pretty small. The relationship between price and quality is related to the situation of Lisbon very good. The distance to the old part of town is not too far, and it is no problem to go downtown by puplic transport. The Metrostation ist about 10 minutes away. Close to the hotel you find a typical portuguese restaurant:"Restaurante Marisquiera Os Amigos Cervejaria" (dish of the day 7.50 Euro, incl. drinks, desert and coffee.) If you park your car in the garage, wich ist recommended by the hotel, please note: the garage is closed on sundays! We had some problems to get our car out of the garage on sunday morning, in this case the staff was not very helpful.
