Hotel Residencial Vila Nova - Lisbon

When we first arrived I thought the taxi had taken us to the wrong address. The outside is just a glass door and you have to buzz to get in.After we figured out how to get in and were shown our rooms I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms very spacious and light. The bathroom was huge with a power shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel is situated at the top of the main avenue leading into Lisbon center. I would stay here again without hesitation

Lovely hotel. Great service. Location couldn't be better - just 100m from the metro. Best coffee shop / restaurant in town right next door. Only disappointment was that our twin room was very small and the bathroom was tiny - but fine for one night's stay and price was cheap - so there you go! Very clean and tidy.

When we first viewed the room we were delighted and felt that we could recommend it to our friends, even though the bathroom was tiny. Everything was very clean and it all looked like good value for money, especially as the desk clerk offered us an alarm call, because we were leaving at 3.00 am. When we got in after visiting Lisbon, we realised that not only was the bathroom tiny but the shower fitting was hand held and to use it, my husband had to stand outside of the shower unit and hold the shower head for me. We had spoken to the night manager who assured us that many hotels had this innovation but my husband, being a former hotelier, had never encountered it and neither had I. Realising that we would get nowhere we didn't even comment on the faint smell in the bathroom. However, by the end of our stay it was thoroughly noxious. I wonder if this also is a feature of many hotels. We could never recommend this hotel because of the poor shower fitting, the smell in the bathroom and the attitude of the night manager. Incidentally, we never received an alarm call and if we had not set our own alarm, we would have missed our flight.

The hotel is simply excellent: located in one of the best neighborhoods of Lisboa, just hundred meters from the metro station and offering high quality service. The rooms are very good with excellent maintenance i.e. well cleaned every day, the bed sheet changed every day, air-conditioner provided, comfortable and spacious bathroom. And last but not least very nice, friendly and caring owners which as I can say from my personal experience help you in every aspect. Something that is also important for most of us is that the owners and the staff speak good English so that the communication is efficient and fun. We have broad experience with 3 to 5 stars hotels during holidays or business trips and this is one of our very best experiences, when for a reasonable price we received very good quality. We will be glad to be guests to Residencial Vila Nova again. Young couple from Bulgaria.

Do not be put off by the entrance on the slightly run down street-or the on street parking. Inside the rooms are spacious and clean; the staff are mostly friendly and there is a good cafe downstairs for breakfast; very handy for the metro and links into the city.

Nice, clean and modern apartment in nice neighborhood. Good facilities. Close to tram and train, OK walking distance from city center.

Definitely a best buy hotel! Tiny room, but spotless with brand new furnishings. Good location and friendly staff. A great find for single travelers.
