Very friendly staff - explained what to see in Lisbon, how to get there, where to buy tickets etc. The hotel is simple and does not offer big comfort but the location in the city centre is excellent and you get good value for your money. We paid 245 Euros for 7 nights in a double room, looking onto the Rossio place and with a view of the Castelo. We had our own shower and toilet - everything very clean, the shower was very small but ok. Since the hotel is located at the Rossio, it got a bit noisy in the evenings but nothing that prevented us from sleeping. We definitely recommend this place to others with a low budget.

Hotel has a great location, but I would not stay here again. The rooms are old and worn out. The common areas are even worse. The trek up 3 flights of stairs to get to reception reminds me of the worst tenement building. The cost for my room was $40 per night, and for that amount of money I have been able to walk into 3 and 4 star hotels and get a much nicer room in a much higher quality building. I have used Venere exclusively for my European bookings, and this is the first time I was totally disappointed with my experience.

This hotel was excellently situated right in the middle of downtown Lisbon. The staff was extremely kind and always helpful. My room did not have air conditioning but just a fan. I would stay at this hotel again , but only of I booked a room with AC. It was unbearable. Also, there is no elevator which means about a 60 stair climb to get to the reception area. I had to ask for t paper twice for the shared washroom. The wifi worked well. So, if I stayed again, and I would, I would request a room with AC and with private washroom. The hotel seems to be the top 4-6 floors of a warehouse/storage facility for the surrounding business. If you dislike lots of stairs, this hotel is not for you. I cannot emphasize how kind all the workers at the reception were. Genuinely pleasant.

I have been very pleased with the kindness of the hotel staff. Pensao Santo Tirso has excellent value for money rate, mainly because the location is absolutely top, at the very heart of the town. My small room was clean and regulary serviced every day. Yet the access to the hotel, at 3rd floor of an old building, looks a bit ugly, in addition stairs are very steep, which makes somehow unconfortable for elder people getting up to their room. Hotel has no parking, so it is unconvenient choice for visitors needing a free spot to place their car during their stay. In summary, if you think you might be a little adaptive for the above drawbacks, you should be very confident on staying at Pensao Santo Tirso

The location of this Pensao was really good. Right on the main Rossio square. This meant it could be quite noisy with the windows open but was fine when they were closed. We arrived quite late but the 24 hour front desk meant that this didn't matter. There were quite a few stairs up to the rooms which might mean this would not be ideal for less mobile travellers. The staff at the Pensao were brilliant. Very helpful when answering specific questions and very useful when offering advice on things to do in the local area. It was really good fun to have a glass of white port in our room and look out over the square in the early evening and watch all of the people going about their lives. Would definitely stay here again.

By booking the Santo Tirso you need to know that the rooms are not luxury at all....it's a simple accommodation in an old house. The staircase is narrow and dirty (3rd floor - no lift!), the premises are small, loud and old, but clean. However the price-performance ratio is ok because it's located really central, directly at the Rossio.

Beautiful location, but old building. If you are going for the confort of the hotel, don't recomand, if you want a central location, for soroundings and hotel just for sleep, good value of money, excelent!

The pension is at the lower side of the Rossio place. In my opinion even at night a safe area. A lot of small cafe bars around - to take the coffee at the morning. Underground (Metro) and AERO bus stops at Rossio place. The pension is OK, everything a little bit aged, but a good price. Good to sleep.

Pros: - Lovely & friendly older gentleman who welcomed us and gave advice. - Fantastic Central location on main square - Very good price Cons: - 1 toilet shared between entire floor. Finished toilet paper not replaced for several days. - Triple room for 3 lads had 1 single and 1 double which wasn't ideal having to share a bed. - Window sill leaked when it rained (though owners were quick to respond to this and very apologetic). - Ensuite shower not the greatest. Though there are more cons than pros I think it represented decent value, just decide whether you can put up with those cons for the money!

Perfect location! Shower facilities were not the cleanest, but nothing dangerous to health. Staff at the front desk were phenomenal. Can't beat the room for the price. Would recommend, hands down!

An excellent place. Very nice staff, able to speak English and French. They were helpful and kind. The hotel isn't incredible, but the price is very cheap, especially considering that we had a direct view on the Plaza Rossio, the true center of Lisbon! We had our private shower, but the toilets were sommon, but they were clean. Ther's only one thing you should consider : there's no heater or air cooler. This might be important!

The combination of the location, the view and the price are nothing short of perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to book here if I returned to Lisbon.
