The room was a standard size but the carpet was a little worn and the varanda glass door was broken. The maintenance of the bathroom was not kept up. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was organized and well laid-out. A quiet hotel if not a little off the beaten path.

Nice, clean hotel. The breakfast was very good (great orange juice), the room and bathroom clean and well kept. A small minus regarding the courtesy of the staff from the reception.

This hotel is not located in the centre of the town. We could use either local busses or trains, but taking a bus in the country where you can find no English signs was hard. Trains were convenient, but we would need to walk to the train station for 10 min to the nearest, 20 min to the second nearest. Our conclusion was "we should have stayed in the central Lisbon" Particularly because we stayed in Lisbon only for 3 days, staying in the centre of the town could have saved a lot of time to get around. Hotel was great, nice room, good breakfast and good price. But you can find this type of hotel in the central Lisbon, not here in the suburb

This was more of a 4-star hotel according to my wife, who works in conferencing and knows a thing or two about hotel standards. Really very good hotel indeed and breakfast was as good as previous reviewers had stated (bacon and eggs for Brits and Yanks though the sausages weren't great). Only downside was lack of enough fresh fruit. We paid €5 more to stay at Hotel Sana Capitol (though got free upgrade to Sana Lisboa!) and the breakfast was even more amazing - definitely best I've ever had on the Continent!

This was a very nice hotel located not far from the Marques de Pombai traffic circle. It was probably a 25 minute walk down to the Rossio area, but there was a metro station right next to the hotel. The hotel was clean, and our room and bathroom were very spacious compared to some European hotels I've seen. The breakfast was included in the price, and it was great: bread, meats, eggs, fruit, yogurt, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, and nice room. We found a few nice neighborhood restaurants in the area, as well as a park just across the street. The breakfast was lovely. My only problem was that it was about a ten minute walk to a metro stop from this hotel.

Property has been renewed recently and our room fulfilled our expectations concerning space, facilities and cleanliness. Hotel is very well located in front of Gulbekian Museum (outstandard garden!) in a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood, two steps from Metro station. Great value for price.

A very nice hotel, though located just a little bit off downtown lisbon. Great personalized service and - apart from the coffee - a satisfactory breakfast. Walls are not exactly soundproof, so if one has noisy neighbors there might be a problem. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Reception staff not updated on opening hours of nearby El Corte Ingles - I was told it was closed on Sunday, in fact it was open. Also, restaurant recommended to me was closed. Taxi driver that reception organised had no idea where the restaurant of my choice was - it was one from a flyer in the foyer, so reception staff could have ensured that my taxi driver knew where it was. He almost dropped me in a quiet street with nothing but houses and closed and barred shops! Not a good idea for a lady on her own in the evening!

Pros: gd location near to metro & a supermarket; good breakfast spread. Cons: in-room wireless connexion was very poor; no desk in room; no iron & ironing board. More seriously, it was the *worst* service I've ever had at a hotel front desk! (And I've stayed in hotels of all classes on three continents.) As I arrived early before the official checkin time I wanted to leave my luggage with the front desk so I could get breakfast nearby and come back later. The counter guy [Nuno Baptista], who was curt to the point of rudeness, got a porter to tag my luggage and bring it to the back. He assumed that speaking to the porter in Portuguese would mean I wouldn't understand as he proceeded to laugh at and disparage me in my presence!! Even if one does not expect friendly service, certainly the least one expects is basic courtesy, which was utterly lacking. This experience cast a pall on my stay there, and I'll certainly never stay there again.

A little out of town, but easy to catch the metro into the centre. Surrounding area interesting and clean, mainly large shops and residential. Don't bring a large car here, the parking is good under the hotel, but getting in and out is not easy. It took me an hour to check in after a long day; a large group had arrived just as we pulled up, and instead of having someone else help me at the desk we were forced to wait.

We had a room on the mainstreet and it brought us a lot of intervals during the night. After four nights we were very tired by the lack of good sleeping. The breakfast was every morning the same and we missed some fresh orange juice and real coffee. Once I only wanted to check my emailmessages and the provider was so slow that it tooks a lot of time before the check was possible. Therefore I had to pay for 7 minutes, while effective I used 1 minute. For the rest a good hotel with a pleasant staff .

Hotel was very close to the Gulbankian Museum and to the Metro. We didn't want to drive so left the car in the parking garage which was a challenge to get into but safe. Not far away from the Hotel (some 500 m) you can find a shopping gallery with supermarket and a lot of shops reaching from electronics to beauty shops. In front of the shopping gallery there is a metro station (tube, underground). At some 200 to 300 m from the hotel you can find the Museum Calouste Gulbenkian. If you want to go to the airport by taxi you will arrive after some 30 minutes and you will pay more or less 8 euros (august 2007).

For the 52 euros we paid for a double room, this is a superb hotel. Our room, understandably, was one of the two close to the elevator, but the hum of the airconditioning made this noise barely noticeable. Breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and large. Do be careful NOT to take any of the extras, like Wi-Fi for 10 euros for half an hour, as these are really overpriced. The neighborhood is very pleasant, just a few blocks from buses and subway.
