Welcoming staff was great, room nice, bathroom big but couldn't get steady warm water. Area seedy but close to everything. Had to extend 1 extra night and informed them the day I arrived. On the extra night came back to the hotel and the room was uncleaned, called reception and they told me rudely the room was not extended. All the male staff was rude while all the female was nice

A very nice and welcoming hotel in the heart of Lisbon, with excellent and competent staff that would do everything to help you. The rooms are clean and some of them are located away from the traffic overlooking the famous ST. George Castle. The breakfast buffet is excellent. This is our second stay in Mundial, and this time we had the pleasure to choose the suite on the top floor, which is a spacious room with excellent panoramic view to the Castle and the river. We certainly would consider Mundial again next time we visit Lisbon.

Excellent starting (and ending) point for quick exploring the city (we had to make it in 5days od our stay). Tram station in front of the hotel, and several other means of transport, including subway, public buses and special touring buses stop near-by. Walking distance to city centre (Baixa). Breakfasts were little bit monotonous, but acceptable. Overall scoring :) very good with small exception for noise level which is a price for location in city centre. For people exhausted with all day exploration would be a minor issue.

Popular Tram Nr 28 starts from the square outside the Hotel. Rossio Station, from where trains for Sintra and Cabo Da Roca start (You can't miss this visit!) is only 200mt far. At lunch Hotel offers a cheap touristic menù too (very good coocking).

We had a very good stay during our three days in Lisboa. I would like to strongly suggest this hotel to all people. Furthermore, with aerobus, it is extremly easy to reach the hotel from airport.

A good hotel, with all the features you need. Superb view of the city from the bar on 9th floor It's an "executive" one, maybe with a lack of personality. But, most of all, very very well located, 200 metres from Rossio : that allows you to reach quite every main site in the city by foot

I'm easy to please but its location is all the Mundial has going for it. The staff makes an effort to be assistful - but they dispense non-stop misinformation - with a smile. The doormen are kooks. The rooms have serious air-conditioning deficiencies - we had to change rooms three times during a three day stay to get a room that didn't require us to open the window - and it was in the mid 80's outside. Only extreme persistence got us past their lip service about sending maintenance personnel and adjusting their computer - all bull. Find a different hotel nearby. Definitely consider the Via Graca for dinner. First class food, waitering and view.

Wide selection of breakfast buffet, close to all the good shops and away from the other Hotel areas. Close enough to walk to all the major attractions, friendly personable staff willing to openly share local knowledge which is not bad at all considering the size of the Hotel, I think it has like 700 rooms. Would recommend to anyone, great for families too.

It was the first time I stayed at Hotel Mundial and I have to say that it worths staying there. I am happy though that I found an offer, I wouldn't have payed its full price. Staff quality is the downside of the hotel, mostly the reception that is totally the oposite you to feel welcome. The breakfast is really great, however staff there should know (mostly in a 4 and 5 stars hotels!): you DO NOT start to clean up and arrange the restaurant while you still have people having the breakfast there! It is open until 10:30 AM, ok, 5 clients decide to come at 10:25. They eat until 11:00..that's it...wait for them to finish and go, don't make them feel unwelcome and in rush. The staff of the hotel is there because those turists/business people are paying!!!!!!!

As it was a special occasion for us the hotel gave us a free ugrade to one of the best rooms in the hotel which had a fabulous view of the castle - we were delighted. Excellent value for the rate we paid. Lots of choice at breakfast in nice bright room. Fantastic location.

Rooms on the street side are rather noisy. During earlier stays at this hotel, I had rooms on the rear side, which are quieter. The hotel is prefectly located for both tourism and professional activities.

Stayed one night with a small baby on our way home after 3 weeks in Portugal. Got a spacious and quiet room. Great hotel located in the city center. (Had no wireless Internet access in the rooms. They probably had a business center, but we never tried it).

I would recommend the Mundial, but at reception you will be greeted by a person who does not smile!! The bar personnel are very friendly. The restaurants are good. I appreciated the free parkiing. It is easy to get to the airport. Trolley #28 will take you through the old city near the castle. You can get the trolley near the front of the hotel. You should spend a day in the EXPO area of the city near the airport and the Oriente train station. We asked for a large double bed, but got a standard which was too small for two large adults. The area around the hotel is a bit seedy. The train service to Porto is good. It is difficult to get any travel advice at reception so bring your own travel guide.

We thought that the hotel was excellent apart from the breakfasts where the choice of fresh fruit was limited and the so called hot choices were invariably cold.

Our 3 night stay in a double room at Mundial was very satisfying in almost every way. There were only two exceptions; 1. The Varanda Restaurant: The hotel describes it as a "first grade restaurant", but this is not at all the case. Since the facilities and the service is very good, we were astonished to find that the food itself was such low quality. 2. This was a surprise trip for my wife, who did not know that a number of friends and relatives would show up as guests at the hotel. The head receptionist assured me that 'no inconvenient questions would be asked at our arrival'. But the first thing that happened at check-in was that the receptionist blew the whole secret by asking questions about our friends' arrival. Incredible!

Mundial offers great value for the money. It is not a charming hotel, but a big and fairly modern one with most of the facilities you need. Great view from many of the rooms. Very nice breakfast buffet. And the location is very practical, with walking distance to Bairro Alto. The small trams stop just outside the hotel and takes you to the Alfama area in a couple of minutes. BUT: Avoid the "gourmet" restaurant Varanda on the 8th floor!!! It looks very nice and the service is good, but the food is a total disaster.

Good location. But clear that this hotel caters to busloads and only releases surplus rooms to the general public thru services like Venere. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location in a somewhat shabby area (most of Lisbon is somewhat dated and recalls its socialist past), but not a long walk to some good shopping and access to tours etc. This was our first, trial trip to Lisbon and will be our last. Not much to appeal to us. Supposedly has great museums but we do not travel to visit museums. Driving in Lisbon is a disaster. Avoid if possible.

Hotel particulièrement bien situé par rapport aux transports en commun, excellent petit-déjeuner. Mais mauvais rapport qualité-prix pour le dîner, l'hotel communique sur la vue de la salle de restaurant mais le repas est très en dessous de la moyenne.

Apart from the fact that the first room we got the key for at check-in was already taken by someone else the hotel seems to be managed quite professionally. Our double-room was rather small but very well equipped (especially the bath-room) and kept. The big hotel is located conveniently midst in town, so most of the sightseeings are within walking distance. Overall a good address to stay in Lisbon.

Nice hotel good situation if you don't take the street behind the hotel flooded with prostitutes. Rooms are very clean but not with all the commodities of a 4 star hotel.Stayed at the Quality Inn in Porto on the same trip and paid half the price of the Mundial for much better service and quality at this 3 star hotel.Beside the service when you arrive at the hotel for your luggage, this is not up-to standard for a 4 star hotel

Pretty good if bland modern hotel in great location near to Rossio and the train station. Fine buffet breakfast. Fairly quiet at night but the immediate area gets a little seedy after dark. Overall very good value for the price we paid. One general warning is that central Lisbon is overrun by pickpockets. Be especially careful around tourist attractions and getting off or on buses and trams.

Very small room with small double bed, shower pressure was low and air conditioning was poor. Staff on front desk were rude but bar staff were very friendly. Location at night was dodgey and square opposite hotel was a definite NO NO. Overall would not go near this hotel again!

Very good location downtown.Excellent price for a triple room, very spacious and private between double and single.Would choose it again and recommend to friends. Generally: be aware of pickpockets in Lisbon!! My purse was stolen, and while in the police station, three more people came in with the same complaint.

Excellent location right at the centre of the city. Walking distance to most of the sites of interests. Excellent buffet breakfast. Double glazing window blocked out most of the traffic noice. We booked through the internet and paid 87 Euro per night for a double room. We think it is value for money.
