Hotel DAH - Dom Afonso Henriques - Lisbon

Hotel is nice so is the room. Although room is not large but good enough for transient stays. Staff is quite competent and so very helpful in giving public transportation information and area of attraction. The only drawback is its location which is in the middle of residential neighborhoods - quite difficult by public transportation from airport, train stations and metro stations. It is located on a hill, so quite difficult to drag your luggages up the hill. Good for travelers willing to pay taxis that already charge you about 4 euros even before it runs.

All in all, everything was pretty much as they described it. the furniture is a bit worn out, i.e. the quality was not as one would have expected from the photos, but still it was ok. The only thing that they forgot to mention is that when you walk from the nearest underground station to the hotel you have to walk uphill (on the other hand, the receptionist will tell you about another one which is also nearby that you can use on your way back and go downhill). Very helpful reception desk staff!

The best thing about this hotel is the fabulous restaurant across the street. I believe it was called Pepe and Olive. We ate there twice and they were probably the best meals we had during our three week stay in Spain, France and Portugal. We arrived to discover that our reservation could not be found. This caused a lengthy delay (45+ minutes) and we weren't the only ones with lost / misplaced reservations. We were apparently upgraded to a larger room, but I couldn't tell. Internet isn't free. I had to pay 5 euros / day, and had to leave my driver's licence while I borrowed the ethernet cable. Breakfast is served upstairs, is nothing special. Even though Lisbon is not a large city, the location of the hotel is not the best. There is little to do in the surrounding area, and we spent a lot of time on the Metro (the nearest station is about a 5-10 walk).

Spacious rooms, bathrooms a bit small. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small family run hotel, but lovely service provided.

this hotel doesn't have internet, which I think it should, you have to pay per hour for it, and it's not cheap. howerver it's a good relation between price and quality.

Pros: parking included, courteous reception staff Cons: cheap quality! Everything in the hotel looks impressive, but then falls apart when you touch it - bathroom hooks and bars, light fixtures, furniture... Also, the wifi isn't free and the breakfast was not too good, and fills up quick! The location was good for us as we had a car and were driving everywhere, but would be bad for anyone using public transit or walking.

We stayed one night at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. The special offer from venere for EUR 36 for the room incl. breakfast and parking (garage) was very good value for money. Normal prices as indicated on the website is too high for the service provided.

I stay 5 days in Lisbon and slept 2 nights in DAH in a family room 4 persons. Excellent hotel for family with young childrens Location is not excellent but easy to join the center by bus at ALMEIDA
