Hotel Britania - Lisbon

The hotel staff is very good,the bed in the room is so big and very comfortable but the room needs some refresh and it needs a new look because the room is so gray.

My Wife and I spent 4 nights in The Britania in March 2009. The reviews on Tripadvisor sounded too good to be true. It's all true. This is one of the best Hotels you will ever book. The staff is wonderful, and very helpful with booking tours. Great trip to Sintra in a small van. Lovely breakfast.

Staff was really friendly and helpful. They are ready to go the extra mile to help and inform. The rooms are huge and nicely decorated. The hotel provides free internet access. Although charming, the bathrooms would need to be updated.

We really liked this hotel becuase we were very comfortable here. Extremely well run hotel on every level. Huge room, attentive and friendly service, excellent linens and bedding, great television, wonderful breakfast. This is not a super deluxe hotel - for instance, the bathrooms still have the older Art Deco fixtures - but it has character and is so comfortable. We recommend it.

Very friendly, welcoming, competent staff. Beautiful building with spacious period rooms. Great choice at buffet breakfast which was included in the price.

Nice decor, huge bedrooms, original furniture and decoration. Warm welcome, a lot of attention and care from a very professionalstaff. Excellent location, within walking distance from city centre. I would return and I strongly recommend it.

A very charming hotel, near the city centre and with a warm welcoming. If you want a room with only one bed, book it in advance. But it's not a big trouble because they can join two single beds and the effect is already the same. Enjoy this boutique hotel!

Excellant hotel, informative staff and great location.

A first-class lodging experience in a beautiful small hotel with attentive, flawless service (what would nowadays be labelled as "boutique" but without the annoying pretensions and trendiness that generally go with the term). The bathroom plumbing was not quite perfect but, considering they were all restored original fixtures, I would not complain too much. Breakfast was not included but well worth the 14 euros extra they charged for it: great variety, excellent quality, plenty of food, soothing atmosphere to begin the day.

Reception staff and cleaning ladies were exceptional. Fluent English spoken by all reception personnel. Also very helpful in respect to what to see and where to dine. Would return to same Hotel if visiting Lisbon.Location is perfect for seeing old City.

The staff at this hotel were outstanding: the welcome, the friendliness and efficiency were all excellent. The room was beautifully decorated with very high qwuality furnishings etc. and our stay was wonderfully relaxed and restful. The only thing that would have improved the room would be tea & coffee making facilities (though room service was evry efficient!).The breakfast was adequate with a good choice of pastries etc. though the cooked breakfast menu could have been more extensive. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly.

The Brittania isn't located on a pretty street but it is only 10 minutes away from a lot of the main sites and close to the metro. We really did love the size of the rooms, the decor, the service etc. didn't take breakfast so can't comment on that.
