The hotel is located very central to the old part of the city. The front desk staff did not seem to bother much about the customers. The breakfast can only be described as poor.

The most important is the location, the best for Lisbon. The rooms are huge, very spascious. The breakfast is very poor, but we don't care about it. We take our breakfast in one of the two cafés located side to side to the Borges hotel: the legendary "A Brasileira" and the "Benard". We do reccomend this hotel...

Do not accept the room 321! It is a nightmare to stay there even for a night. The staff (rude enough) gave me an acceptable room for last 3 nights in Lisbon. They spoiled 24 hours from my holiday.

WORST hotel I have ever stayed in (and I've travelled all over the world). Our room was barely bigger than the bed. The maids were awful - every day they took our towels and would fail to leave us new ones, so we always had to ask for them. We even had to ask for toilet paper at one point. The shower stall is so tiny and the shower so clogged, that I fell when I simply tried to turn around in it. I hit my head on the sink pretty hard and the hotel staff did not seem to care. I asked for ice for the already-forming lumps on the side of my forehead and I was told that the best they could do was sell me a bottle of cool (not cold) water for 1 euro. The only thing good about this hotel is the location - for the amount of money we paid (about 80 euro a night - by far the most expensive we stayed in), I'd just as soon find another hotel nearby. This hotel is just AWFUL.

Awful experience! Rooms were old and the bathroom smelled extremely bad. One day the room hadn't been cleaned by 4 PM, the next day it had been cleaned but there were no towels. Breakfast is so disgusting (watery, colorless juice and coffee are stored in big self-service machines, etc.) that we decided to skip it entirely. And last... Staff was extremely rude. The hotel is well located but it is not worthy, there are other places around to stay.

Don't try to drive to this place! . . .and if you do, there is an underground cp adjacent, very handy but very expensive. Staff a bit gloomy and breakfast serving impossible ...despite a most beautiful room. Good city centre site to explore from. BM

Hotel is extremly good located, famous tram 28 in front of hotel, as well the fabous coffee brasileira and metro station, all what you need in walking distance, incl casa de porto and dinner restaurants and bars service at desk minimum, that what required, very friendly room maids and breakfast staff (breakfast room wonderfull, breakfast very poor and cheap) room got what it needs, as well air co/ heating, during the week quiet, as windoms are very thin at saturday allmost like a live concert in the room till late, as they play down on the predestrian street/ cafe brasileira would book it again - price and service

The room has been a bit small, but it was clean. The staff at the reception has not been quite friendly, but all in all our stay was fine for the value of money. Underground station next to the hotel and only a short walking distance to the city center. Location can be recommended!

More central than this is virtually impossible. Room was enormous! So was the bathroom. Everyday cleaned and clean towels. Beds were okay. Friends of ours told us in the old days this place is where the kings and queens used to stay. If you don't mind listening to some chitchat and portuguese street musicians playing at night (which we found very pleasant) than definately book this place.

The hotel is in a ideal position (centre of Lisbon) and well communicated.(altough it's in a noisy square) The rooms are quite small and dirty (sheets included)and a very poor breakfast is served in a room under earth (not in the terrace as they say on the website) anyway, the staff is nice and helpful.

It faces the Shiard plaza, and the Camoes plaza is the vicinity soon. It is a district where the history is felt. Therefore, it is lively until midnight. There might be a person who feels that it is annoying, too. However, Bairoalt is near, and it doesn't take as much as one minute to the station in the streetcar and the subway. The Rosshio station : for about ten minutes. It is the best for sightseeing. The cafe of Bragerara pleasant is in the next.

If you want to party in Lisbon, this is the place to stay. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from the bars and walking distance to many attractions. It is VERY noisy though if your room is on the main street. The locals stay out very late but this didn't worry us as that's what we were there to do. The rooms were very comfortable, though the staff a little indifferent. It was pretty pricey too but we were overall happy with it.

We chose this hotel for its very central location next to a metro station and close to Bairro Alto restaurants. The price to pay is the loud noise that permeates from outside through hardly closing windows. The hotel is in need of a serious refurbishment, with the breakfast room looking incongruously freshly made up. Breakfast was below average. The reception desk was willing to help when insisting.

Excellent location (in the heart of lisbon's Chiado, 20 m away from subway and historical tramway N. 28); the street is a pedestrian area which probably is the reason of the noisy nights, but apart from that, the hotel is ok.

You need to be very patient with the doors, 'cause keys are really crazy! The rooms are not very clean and the breakfast is quite poor. I mean, it's more an hostel than hotel! The position is the only really good thing, 'cause it's close to everything: you're in the heart of LISBOA. The staff is not so prepared to answer to your questions but thay're always very kind.

The furnitures occurred rather worn, the hinge of the door of the cupboard was broken making it difficult to close the door. We had booked at suite but got an ordinary room with a sofa (convertible) and one single, unconfortable chair. But the hotel is located just in the center of the old town, a big plus for people not being accustomed to public transportation. Don't forget to add 34 €/day to your daily expenses if you are going by your car, that's the fee for parking your car in the nearest parking house.

The hotel is situated in a good location. The principal inconvenient is the noise, we awoke 2 or 3 times during the night because of the noise. Another inconvenient is the cleanliness of the rooms, we saw some hairs in the bed and in the pillow. I think that if a normal hotel but the price/quality relation is very poor.

Our room was spacious with a good view of the area. Great for a first night in Lisbon. Heater and shower did not work. Breakfast was lame but the dining room was nice. Staff was less friendly than elsewhere. Nearby Bairro Alto is really the place to stay instead.

This is a clean hotel with a splendid location in Lisbon's Old Town (Bairro Alto). The breakfast is poor, just bread, butter and marmalade. The rooms look like they haven't been renovated since the early 80's. There is some noise from the street that is not at all unpleasant for someone that is used to live in a big city. The price is fair and the location is just fantastic.

The entire thing was a chaos, the door of the room was not a customer friendly, you can hear the noise of other people doing the same thing, you can not get the door to locked, it was hard to do it, we did not feel safe. Only the tv spoke portugues, there were not spanish or english tv. I won't return to this hotel EVER!

The Hotel was in a perfect location, between Bairro alto and Chiado, but that was the only good thing of this accomodation. Our room was big but beds really unconfortable, and the room noisy too. Most of the employes were unkind. Breakfast was very poor and of terrible quality, the orange juice was synthetic and the coffee was of sure the worse one of the Portugal.

I took my girlfriend to Lisbon for our anniversary and we had a fantastic time. The room was very spacious and quiet (although I specifically requested for a quiet room). The staff was not the friendliest but don't let that phase you. And without a doubt, the location of this hotel is worth every euro we paid. Chiado is awesome and near plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We were 3 people staying at the room 222. Enormous one! the hotel is located in a pedrestiants street at the city centre. The breakfast was really poor and there were no variety. However next to the hotel there are some cafes like "Brasialian Cafe". One of the oldest and nice of Lisboa, I sugget you to try typical cakes from Belen, made of cream absolutely delicious!

Very good location, but the room was very dirty: hair on the bed, towels , curtains and moquette dirty. We asked for clean towels, but they provided us oyher dirty towels. We leaved the hotel very early, so we couldn't have breakfast. In front of the hotel there is always a cab. The Borges is located in Lisbon downtown, that is very good, but during all the night we heard people chatting and crying: so we couldn't sleep until 5:00 A.M...

Excellent location, a great place to stay in Lisbon as it is very central for day and night activities. It's best to avoid the rooms that are on the streets as it can be quite noisy at night. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is not very warm at the desk. Breakfast is OK but nothing extraordinary.
