We spent 4 days in Lisbon and the place was above our expectations. The hotel employees were extremely kind and helpful. Great breakfast...

Nice hotel close to Bairro Alto, but not inside, better for the noise at night. Clean, with nice breakfast. Employee were friendly and looking to help. Cool place to stay if it's ok for you to walk a little bit (5min) to go to the center.

The Belver Principe Real was a lovely small, clean and quiet hotel. The staff were very friendly and courteous and took a genuine interest in being helpful. The breakfasts were both excellent and plentiful. We had two suites that were more than adequate for our needs with much-needed, efficient air conditioning. The surrounding area is a bit shabby but you are only a 5 minute downhill walk (a bit more coming back up) from the shops and the restaurants. A great base for exploring Lisbon but not for those who want lots of facilities and entertainment on tap.

Would highly recommend this hotel for any visitor to Lisbon. The hotel exceeded my expectations and was great value for money. It was near a lot of restuarants and bars but was very quiet.

Great hotel. really enjoyable breakfast provided. Clean, spacious, quiet rooms. Helpful friendly staff. Convenient (but not beautiful) location, but the hotel is located at the top of one of Lisbon's hills. This means that you will need to do some uphill walking to get back to the hotel (or take a taxi which are fairly cheap and easy to catch). Loved the hotel however and would recommend to anyone who does not mind walking up some hills away from the main district to return to their hotel.

Great stay! we were upgraded to a suite- really spacious and nice. Huge bathroom, living area and room. Loved the breakfast! A la carte, not a buffet. Location was OK, up a hill like most of Lisbon. Staff was really nice and helpful.

Lisbon is nearly impossible to navigate in. I downloaded spain/portugal maps for my US Tom-Tom and they were utterly defeated by Lisbon. In the end we were able to find the hotel but asking another hotel and getting a map from them. We turned the Tom-Tom off. They are working on the street right now and the only way to get to the hotel is to either drive your car wrong way on a street for a block or two - or - walk you bags up a signnificant hill. The hotel itself was nice. The hotel recommended a resturant that was nice and food and service good - but we got charged 85 Euros for two bottles of wine that shouold have 25 Euros total. I am sure the kid at the hotel got a good kickback. On the other hand breakfast was excellent and was included. It is in a nice part of town - except for the road construction. They did NOT turn on the airconditioning - so the fact that they have it is irrelevant. Get the rooms in the back which are cool - the ones (like mine) that face the street get full sun in the day and do not cool off until late at night. We were there at end of April. If they have the AC off when you are there any later in the year - I suggest you leave. We had two single travelers and a double. Free wi-fi in the lounge where they also serve afternoon tea, but no wi-fi in the rooms.

Nice location, quite paceful, no noisy at all, specially convenient to go to Bairro Alto for dinner, also near Chiado or Rossio. Close to Principe Real square, a very nice an less unknown corner of the old city. Employees were very professional and breakfast quite ok and well served.

D'ont forget you can reach the hotel also using the yellow tram that goes up to the hill. because walking from libertade is a little bit tired. I suggest for dinner (grilled fish, price /quality) a bar in rua d. pedro, 96 called casa faz frio

Warm welcome and extremely helpful & friendly staff. Room a bit disappointing (no comfortable chair, noise from traffic if one opened the window). No food service apart from breakfast, had thought 24hr room service was mentioned on the site. Surroundings very hilly and difficult to manage on foot with any mobility problems.

We stayed in a double standard room which was very spacious with living room and balconies. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Close to city, but it can be a bit difficult for a pedestrian to find the hotel because of bad citymaps....

The hotel is quite nice, but the surrounding isn't really! The room was a suite, but it was to the street and so it was very loud. The service there is really good, the employees do a good job.

Hotel reserved via venere. We obtained room 502 which is a pretty large suite with a good panoramic city view. The room was clean but the overall look of the room needs a good refurbishment and new furniture. Breakfast is perfect. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well located. The hotel is in need of a quality refurbishment, it would rate as 3-star in France.

Hotel clean and room spacious; staff polite and helpful. Price rather high; I could have stayed at the Pestana Palace at lower cost (!) Stayed three nights. Internet access unavailable throughout this period. Staff did not take any action until two days after I reported it. By third day the problem had still not been fixed.

The reception and breakfast staff were very courteous, friendly and helpful. I was staying on my own before attending a business meeting in Portugal and so I especially valued the warm welcome at Principe Real. The location is great: a quiet street just a few minutes' walk from both Barrio Alto and Baixa. Easy walk to the metro station, too.
