Good hotel for what I needed: a meeting in Belem, and connected directly by bus from the front door. Metro right at hand as well so easy to get around. Within walking distance of resaturants, etc. The room was clean, the breakfast not bad (I didn't eat much, mind you!), and the internet fine. No wifi in the room but they provided me with a cable. Wifi in the lounge; I suggest that they extend the wifi to the breakfast area.

Two nights in Lisbon. Staff at establishment were very friendly and welcoming and very eager to assist with any question or sugestion. I would recomend this hotel. We just found one glitch...the bar fridge in the room was not replenished and had a half drunk bottle of wine in it, but the hotel staff rectified this imediately.

I do have a couple of comments. Room 604 was very small with nowhere to sit other than on the bed. Also, I believe there needed to be better lighting in the room. When I made the reservation I requested a room with two single beds, this room had only one double bed. The hotel and restaurant staff were very good!

Despite there being an error with our reservation, the Manager sorted it out very quickly and to our satisfaction. Although it was very frustrating to arrive after 9pm to find this out. The hotel was in a great location however, there didn't appear to be too many restaurants close by. That said once you got your bearings it was very close to public transport - which is great in Lisbon and easy walking distance of all attractions.

We have got the chance to have a suite (Franck Sinatra's suite) for the price of a normal double bed room. The staff have been very competent and the welcoming perfect. No way to connect on Internet (by cable or Wifi, probably a problem with my computer. A very good stay in conclusion. Breakfast and dinner exceptionnal.

Very good vlue for money. Try the restaurant. To my big surprise (I hate Hotel's restaurants) it turned out as one of the best,if not the best we could find in Lisbon in 5 days.I know what i'm talking about. Try to avoid showing up for breakfast (excellent) at rush hour, since you may have to wait to be seated.

Our flight arrived early from U.S. They told us they'd hold our bags until later, at their standard checkin time. After we washed up in the restroom, they said they had a room available and made an exception and allowed us to check in. We had lunch at the hotel and the food and service were excellent, much better than we'd expect at a hotel. The location is one short block from the metro and a block from the express bus stop from the airport, while on a backstreet and quiet. We enjoyed our stay, with the exception of a slick bathtub, which could have used a rubber mat for showers. We also liked the efficient staff.

We rented a double room, but when we arrived at night, they gave us a small room with a queen bed. Next day we asked about a bigger room and at the third day, they gave us a wonderful huge bedroom with a king bed. breakfast was great and The everything in the hotel was perfect. It has sauna as well.

Well, this is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic restaurant. We could not find anything that was not just perfect. We were welcomed by a professional but still very friendly woman that upgrade us giving us a suite. We stayed two nights. The location is perfect, in a modern, nice area close to a park. We also had dinner one night at the resaturant. We definitely recommend this hotel as well as the restaurant

This was an excellent hotel.Because the hotel was fully booked we got upgraded to a suite which was very nice however i saw the other twin rooms and they looked nice as well. The hotel is in excellent condition, very nicely appointed...the general area is a little small but that was not a negative for us.The staff were extremely obliging and helpful. We ate in at the hotel restaurant and the service...the old fashion kind ..and the meal were excellent.Breakfast was equally as good. Once again this was an excellent hotel where everything works...the facilities and the staff delivering top service.

We have stayed a long weekend in Lisbon. It was the second time we came to the city and we wanted something comfortable near downtown. The location of the Aviz is perfect: it is near the underground station of Marques de Pombal and at a 20 minutes walking distance from the very downtown. There were no rooms available as the one we had reserved, so the hotel upgraded it and gave us a huge suite. The room was really spacious as a small apartment and with a wonderful bathroom. The only slightly negative note was that it was not as well sorted as one would have expected of a grand suite (limited number of towers, of pillows, etc.) and the beds were not in accordance with the luxury of the rest of the room (they were rigid and a bit uncomfortable). For the rest, we are very happy with our stay at the Aviz.

The rooms were clean, modern and welll decorated with good balance between modern - the marble bathrooms and old - some antique furntiture. The small bar and lounge area was in the reception area so not really suited to a relaxing drink in the evening. The dining room was too small to cope with the breakfast rush so there were queues for a table - though the quality of the breakfast buffet was excellent. Very well situated off the Pombal roundabout - 5 mins by tax or 15 by metro to the centre.

The staff is very kind & helpful. The hotel is ideally situated near Marques Pombal, the focal point of all public transportation. We got in at 10AM convinced we would only be able to drop our bags but the room was available and we were upgraded to a suite! Wow! The breakfast is great and suits all tastes (Portuguese pastries, croissants, smoked salmon, eggs, champagne, etc.). The rooms are not that big but they are nicely decorated. For rainy days you can borrow a DVD at the reception. We enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly return.

Staff gave a warm welcome and on request moved me to a room on the upper storeys. Concierge was a local expert. Nice touches are the little terrace on the 8th floor and the footstools under the table in the dining room -great for tired feet after touring the city. Size of room and furnishings were fine for a leisure visit (no desk), but not so much storage space for a week-long stay. Room had French windows that opened onto a small balcony. Staff were unfailingly courteous.

Fantastic hotel! Superb service from very helpful, _professional_, patient and friendly staff. Spotless and fabulous room incl a dvd player. For a deposit (repaid at return of dvd) the reception has dvds to lend). Small disappointment, the safe is too small for a normal 15" laptop. Splendid breakfast buffet, complete with egg & bacon, yoghurt, muesli & fresh fruit. Sweet pastries, wholegrain bread, cheeses, charkuteries, marmalade and much more. The coffee is not made to order but ok. All photos on the web are true, which is incredible and the first time I've seen it. Only inaccuracy on Venere is distances; the center is a 20 min walk away, the metro station only 3 min. The metro takes 10 min to Baixa-Chiado (the old town center). I got a deal for a single supreme room for 95eur/night and for me it was a fantastic value/cost ratio. The hotel is truly 4 stars but cost as many 3 stars and below. Eventhough the hotel isn't in the charming old town/center I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Public transport is excellent. Just remember that it is a big city and be normally careful. Always watch out for pickpockets, and spread your money in different places. Taxi is cheap and safe,4,5-5 eur from the old town to the hotel, aprox 15eur to the airport from the hotel depending on how many bags you have. Quiet surroundings, even with a facade renovation just in front. It was my first time in Lisbon and I could definetly stay at Aviz again if I got a good deal. Highly recommended!

The hotel was definitely designed to meet the needs of english speaking travelers--including eggs and bacon for breakfast. Room and bathroom were very clean. I would recommend this hotel but note that as a tourist I should stayed closer to the city center. Having the subway so close was definitely helpful after a long day of site seeing. Rooms are small by American standards but similar to other European hotels I have stayed in. This hotel was a standard business class hotel. If you are looking for local charm, this is not really it.

What a joy! These days it's not easy to find a hotel fit for the entire family, from a 4 year old to Grandpa. Yet, the Aviz did a terrific job. Perfect location, nice neighborhood, easy access to taxi or subway. The service was friendly and competent, the dining room served the best breakfasts and there was plenty of room and time to dwell over that extra cup of coffee or goodie. The hotel is quiet, understated, and refined..if you want glitz go down the street to the Ritz. It was a huge success with our family for the week. We did make the reservations thru Venere which saved a good deal compared to the rack rate and believe me that made a big difference. We are all ready to return to Lisbon and would definately stay at the Aviz again.

tranquil haven in a bustling city. Perhaps there could be a bit more tourist information/literature available at reception regarding Lisbon and surrounding area with metro maps , travel info and places of interest to visit. Also simple information in the rooms regarding air conditioning operation . The towels while exceptionally clean and replaced daily were a bit old and could be softer. Also the two dressing gowns were very small, a large or extra large one should be available. Besides the above minor points I found the hotel accomodation, food , staff and location excellent and would certainly recommend this hotel as a base for a Lisbon visit.

We needed a room for 3 persons, and Hotel Aviz was one of few hotels in Lisbon which had that as an option. It meant that we got the hotel's suite, which deligthed us much ;). We found our suite and the hotel as a whole - it is recentlenty renovated - elegant in a classic way. Good breakfast, really friendly and competent staff. The hotel is some 20 minutes' walk from city center. If you find that too far you can either take a taxi which are enormously (almost dangerously!) fast (some five minutes ride),for the cost of only 4-5€ (including 10% drinks). Furthermore, you could take the Metro, which stops only some 250 meters from the hotel for even less money (ticket cost is 0,80€, but for your very first ride you need to obtain/buy a primer-card for 1,30€). Overall, Aviz is an exellent hotel which really has the potentential of enhancing your Lisbon-experience.

Hotel Aviz is a nice modern property right down town Lisbon, just steps from the Marque de Pombal Square and metro stop. It was on a quiet side street. This is a great hotel. It is very nice and the decor is lovely. The people at reception are very nice and helped us out quite a lot. They actually redefined the remainder of our trip by suggesting accommodations in various ares of the country. Without their suggestions our trip would not have been as eventful. The breakfast is great and the hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms are quite spacious but not overwhelmingly huge which made us feel very conformable. Breakfast is simply amazing and the Turkish bath on the upper floor is very relaxing. The location of this hotel is amazing and right across the street of a main metro station. It is situated in an quiet area and has very quick access to various other points of interest. If you are looking for a very nice hotel, in an excellent location with friendly staff and great amenities, this hotel is an excellent choice!!

We had a very small double room with a tiny wardrobe. Bathroom was rather large. The room would be fine for one person, but a bit cramped for two. Asked for a room facing the street, but was given a room facing the back. It didn't bother us very much though, as we didn't spend very much time in the room. Room was clean and very quiet. Excellent breakfast. Had lunch one day in the restaurant - the meals were very good. Superb location close to metro, taxis and multibanco. Overall a pleasant stay for a good price.

Initially I was to stay at hotel with my partner. When making reservation we paid an upgrade of 10 Euros per night for 5 nights for a large Double Room. However my partner was unable to make it. Upon checking into the hotel I was given not the upgraded double, but a standard double and the hotel would not refund the difference. The following day, my partner arrived and we stayed in the standard double room. I would like to be refunded my 50 Euros as I was not given the room that I paid for.

This was my first visit to Lisbon and staying at Hotel Aviz added to my enjoyment of the whole experience. So much so that I decided to return to Lisbon during the weekend following my original reservation to see some more of the sites and to stay once again in such wonderful hotel. The Hotel Aviz is excellently located, with two metro lines around the corner. A short and pleasurable walk through the Avenida region takes you from the hotel to the Baixa and Chiado regions. The staff is helpful in every way and the facilities offered coincide with their description in the venere.com website. I strongly recommend Hotel Aviz and I plan to return there many other times in the near future.

It was the first time when I went to lisboa at new year. I enjoyed it very much. The hotel is very well located, very easy to find and near by many monuments and metro. It is very quiet and the staff was very pleasant.

A good location, friendly staff and very clean and presentable. Only issue was our air-con could only be controlled by reception so in order to have it switched off/on or to alter the temperature we had to call reception. The hotel has a transfer service from the airport for €45, but it is much much cheaper (€8-10) to take a cab from the rank.

The Hotel Aviz was an excellent hotel although a little pricy. The staff was pleasant, spoke english and was willing to suggest restaurants and attractions. The hotel is located by the Marques de Pombal which is in the center of Lisbon but not close to tourist attractions. The Metro is just around the corner from the hotel and was easy and economical to travel to all parts of Lisbon. I wish I had asked for a non-smoking room. The odor was overpowering and lowered my rating of room cleanliness.

This is an excellent hotel. It is clean and pleasant and the staff are very friendly. The room was clean with good water supply. The overall service is very good. I ate in the hotel but decided not to do so on other evenings; the food is nice but not wonderful. The hotel is in a very good position as regards moving around the city. It is not the cheapest hotel in Lisbon but it is near to being the best!

A friendly and pleasant hotel just a short walk from the central area. It more than justified the high scores from previous visitors.

A great hotel, very nice room. Good powerful shower, bathrobes provided though both very small.Breakfast was good with a decent selection, open till quite late by other hotel standards. A short 10-15 min walk to the Baxia area.
