Hotel Alif Campo Pequeno - Lisbon
Avenida Joao XXI, 80 - Lisbon
877-662-6988Eight centuries of history, a year round temperate climate, a beautiful landscape, a unique architecture, a varied gastronomy and an innate hospitality, make Portugal an enticing and unforgettable destination.
Hotel Alif Campo Pequeno has several services to offer, such as a reception open all day long, two fully equipped meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 50 people, an Internet Point, a TV lounge and a bar.
Staff reasonably polite and helpful, but seemed like a very rules-bound hotel; they did what the policy manual says to do; no more.

GOOD: The location was cool, on an avenue with lots of shops, close to the metro station and the Campo Pequeno shopping centre. The price with this online booking was quite reasonable. The beds were very comfortable, though not too warm (a duvet would be nice). BAD: The air conditioning turned off along with the lights when we left the room, so when we returned at night it was cold and took quite a while to warm up again. Lighting in the room was poor - there were quite a few light bulbs, but badly placed behind stuff that covered them, so not enough light to read or use the laptop comfortably. Internet use was overly expensive. Staff at reception not exactly friendly or welcoming (not even a smile). Our room was just below the restaurant, which wasn't carpeted, so we were woken early in the morning by footsteps and things being moved on the floor above us.

Hotel Alif is a good hotel to stay in Lisbon, near the city center, underground, the council for those who want to spend a weekend in Lisbon

This hotel is not new, and shows its age. But it offers an excellent location 15 mins to the airport, crisply clean and pleasant albeit modest decor, excellent staff, a wonderful buffet full breakfast, free wifi. The bellman Yasser literally ran up the block to fetch a taxi to the airport. We had just arrived from a 5* hotel in Barcelona: the staff, service, amenities, and cleanliness were far superior in this "merely" 3*. Heartily recommended -- but it's a hotel, not a vacation spot!

Ottimp hotel non centralissimo, ma metro a 200 m. personale multilingue e cordiale. Prima colazione ottima, anche se per un diabetico mancava qualcosa senza zucchero

The first night we arrived the air conditioning in our room was not working. A staff member came and said it was fixed when it obviously wasn't. They offered us another room which was inadequate compared to the room we had booked (no balcony, bad smell, poor condition). We said we didn't want the alternative room they offered. They said they couldn't do anything about the air conditioning until the next day. We asked if they could give us an electric fan to at least cool our room a bit - no, they didn't have any. So we had to sleep with our balcony doors open all night and it was very noisy. They did fix the air conditioning the next day but when we came into the hotel from being out all day they were not very helpful at reception when we asked if it was fixed - didn't seem to understand there had been a problem. However, I had left a message with the manager in the a.m. saying we were unhappy with some things (bathroom door did not close, etc.) and he did call us later to check that things were okay. Otherwise, good stay. Very nice buffet breakfast included and our room was basically very nice. The hotel was not in the downtown area but the buses (other side of Bull Ring) #44 or #745 were only €1.40 for about a half-hour ride to the waterfront/Old City. The Bull ring just across the street has shops, restaurants and a supermarket. The food court is not where we wanted to eat, but we did have lovely meals at an Argentinian restaurant in the centre. The taxis are cheap and only cost us €6.00 from the hotel to the airport.

We were in Portugal for two weeks and stayed in accommodations in Lisbon, Evora, Viseu, Guimaraes, Luso, Obidos and Lisbon again so we had some comparisons. The Alif was our end stay for two nights before flying home. Check-in easy, not unfriendly but a smile would have been nice. Room very clean. Small, but no surprise there. Within walking distance of Gulbenkian and modern art museums. Also found a couple markets and a small shopping mall nearby. Only issue was whenever you had to get on the phone to hotel staff. Called to verify our reservation the day before and that took forever! Called to get coffee from room service one morning and was told to call two different numbers, and then transferred twice after that. But overall, the stay was very nice. No noise issues either!

Good hotel for a good price. Unfortunately, there are no bars and restaurants around. The garage is very very narrow - a horror!

The service was excellent, and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast at the top floor was a great start of the day, the buffet was simple but contained everything you needed. The room was very nice but headed towards a busy street, ear plugs are recommended.

Excellent hotel, I highly recommend it and would certainly go back if in Lisbon. Room was reasonably spacious and very comfortable, brekfast was great, in a spacious room on the top floor of the building with a great view over the city. Staff was corteous and efficient. The hotel is not very close to the center but it is very convenient to the airport. In any case, there is a metro station just across the road which can take you to the centre in a matter of minutes. In the square beside the hotel you have the Plaza de Toros, with a wide choice of restaurants and bars. For the price I paid (less than 60 Euros) this was really a bargain.

Not a fancy hotel, but clean and correct and well worth it for the price. Located right on the Metro, its easy to get into the center in minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect hotel for 1-2 nights (we only stayed 1) situated right by Campo Pequeno and within easy walking distance from the station. We were not made very welcome at reception on arrival but were booked in efficiently. The view from our bedroom was a disappointing: a row of air conditioning units, but the room itself was fine and for a short stay I might stay there again although for a visit to the historic centre of Lisbon its a fair walk away or taxi ride.. breakfast was adequate to fair.

Very good locality, but the breakfast offer far behind the situation a few years ago. As I was already accommodated in the hotel in the past, I can compare. It looks to me that the hotel needs some investments, or a mighty strategic partner. I have got a room with a strange and unceasing noise from the hotel yard (maybe some air-conditioning central, or so). I am not sure whether I should return there anymore.

The hotel location is amazing...just in one of the touristic bus route stops and in one of the notorious part of the city...10 min from city center by public transport. Rich and fresh breakfast buffet included, on the nineth floor with lovely views of the city. Excellent quality vs price. Spacious and clean rooms...highly recomended.
