Hotel Alliance Lille - Lille

We stayed one night on our way down to Alsace and one on our way back to the UK, in a superior room both times. The size of the rooms was great and the bed was good. Minor quibbles - on the way down the room we had smelt of cigarettes, on the way back everything was great though the carpet obviously needed replacing as it was stained in places. Regarding value for money, this was good compared to some other hotels we had stayed in but the bar was very expensive. breakfast was excellent though again a little expensive. Overall we would give the hotel 9.5.

Super conversion of the building. The inner courtyard area is beautiful but could do with some aircon due to the glass roof but not so as to put you off staying. It is in a great location for the old part of the town, the food in the resteraunt is superb. The staff are excellent

We only stayed there two nights and felt the price quoted for the room was expensive, two different prices for each night and having stayed there many times, I know they have bigger and better rooms than the one we got. Overall it is a good hotel and we stay there each time we go to Lille but forget about it in high summer as they have no air conditioning in the hotel and it is very uncomfortable both in the public areas and in your room.

The hotel and staff are faultless and we had an extremely enjoyable stay, however we were under the impression that breakfast was included and the room price was competitive. This was not the case as the rate was exactly the same for any one, and breakfast was extra.

Tried to charge us the full rate when we left on the Sunday! Luckily I had taken my booking form so could prove that we had a lower rate.
