Wonderful locatin for tourists, close to all the main sites of Lille and the Christmas market. We found all the staff helpful and friendly. The room was lovely, overlooking the Grand Place (but not all do)and very spacious and exceptionally quiet. Our only niggle was that the lighting on the Grand Place is very bright, and the blackout curtains didn't close properly, so light leaked in. But otherwise a great hotel. For restaurants, don't miss the Art Nouveau decor and supper rooms feel of La Paix, tucked in a corner of Place Rihour, and easy to overlook. Great regional cooking and helpful staff. The food in Lille is great.

Get rid of that awful copy of the Winterhalter painting of the Imperatrice Eugenie and her ladies in waiting in the lobby. Replace it it with a mirror, with a blank wall, with anything. It's one of the worst attempts at copying a painting I have ever seen. I've seen a lot of bad art (as well as much great art) all over the world, but this is one of the most embarrassingly bad. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. And the room was blessedly quiet. Also, the breakfast was excellent.

Very tiny room, no view at all (window facing a wall....) Not really clean (especially the bathroom), and very old decoration.... Not really the quality of a 3 stars for such a price...
