Our room was small but immaculate in cleanliness. It looked over the garden. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and the staff very nice that served and cleaned. Levanto is quiet, beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend it as a place to stay while visiting the Cinque Terre. The Salty Dog Cafe provided us with a nice, tasty affordable meal, coffee and the owners we very kind and friendly. When they noted we spoke English changed the tv channel to CNN for us so we could catch up on the events at home in English.

The hotel was beautiful and welcoming. It would have been nice if the staff on the day of arrival would have been the same. The parking is a narrow drive into a garage and you must leave your keys at the desk so that the cars can be moved to allow others to leave.

On a hill just north of downtown Levanto, about a 10 min or less walk to center. Quiet area with attractive gardens, and view to valley. With luggage, about a 15 minute _strenuous_ walk with ups & downs, from train station. Got a lift back to station. Strongly recommend you get a pick-up by hotel when you arrive, or take a taxi. NOT recommended for guests with difficulty climbing stairs...there are a lot of them. Clean, spare, modern room in 3-room addition at top of property. All appointments functional. Front desk greeting a bit brusque. Breakfast OK. Breakfast room cramped and a bit dark; small terrace but only 2 tiny tables; had to wait one morning for a table to free up. At Euro 160/night, seems a bit high even for Cinque Terre region.

We booked this room before realizing it was recommended in the Rick Steve's Italy travel guide. This property was everything he said and then more. Beautiful gardens, warm hospitable staff, good breakfast. We will definitely stay here again on future trips.

We stayed 3 days in a separate apartment just up the road. The apartment was a large 3 bedroom one and was very comfortable. The reason we were in the apartment was that the owner had missed changing the availability status on Venere for one of our three nights. He offered the apartment for the full three nights, to obviate our having to change for one night. All in all, well handled. The breakfast in the main building was outstanding and the availability of a parking garage was a real plus in an area where parking can be a problem.

Getting out of the hotel is not that easy because the entrance is in the street below but you know, we are in Liguria and not in Texas... Very good stay, we'll get back to this lovely hotel
