Hotel Al Terra di Mare - Levanto

Does not deserve its fourth star.This is barely a three star hotel.

Our room smelled so badly that I had to sleep with the sheets over my nose. I asked for a different room, but was told I'd have to pay substantially more, as the only other room was bigger. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

Our room was a paradise looking at the stunning scenery of the cypress trees and Ligurean Sea. We loved getting up in the morning and opening the windows to the gorgeous sun. We had a great stay but DID NOT KNOW about the shuttle service from the train stn and a cab wd not take us there. Finally, after a long wait, someone contacted the staff at Al Terra Mare and the shuttle came to pick us up at the train stn.

Everyone very friendly. The only problem was the internet connection, but... we can be disconnested some time :)

Very nice quiet base to explore cinque terre from. Requires car or some form of transportation from city of Levanto. This is my 2nd stay and I would highly recommend the hotel. Pool was refreshing and very well maintained.

Nice hotel but too far away from town - shuttle service should be included in the rather high room price. Some details should be improved - e.g. plastic cups in a luxurary room. Since the key had to be put in an electric switch it could not be used to lock the room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Al Terra di Mare. The staff was welcoming and very competent. The hotel is located uphill from the town, and the shuttle service (pay) was very affordable and convenient.

Vraiment très bien. Il est obligatoire d'être motorisé, sinon il y a cependant une navette. Un seul point un peu difficile: le parking, qui nécessite de nombreuses manoeuvres. Enfin, la piscine est assez petite. Mais les chambres sont grandes, propres, avec une belle vue et pour nous, une terrasse. Très bon séjour.

We really enjoyed the stay in this very nice hotel! The stuff is very kind and helpful. The only bad thing was, that they didn't allowed us to drink our own wine at the terrace.

One characteristic of the property was annoying amd the other dangerous. Two keys were provided: one to turn-on the electricity to the room and the other was the room key, yet both were on the same key ring. If your room was locked from inside, you had to remove the key that operated the electricity in order to unlock the door. This is a serious safety issue. On the plus side, the hotel held our luggage and brought it to the train station at precisely the time I specified. This allowed us to visit the Cinque Terre and not have to handle our luggage. A terrific service.

This was real great place to stay. Highly recommended.

A fantastic stay in a wonderful hotel. The staff were extremely professional and helpful. The facility was beautiful, the breakfast very good, the shuttle to town very helpful. We can hardly wait to go back.

An unusual place, generally pleasant, but with a few defects. The management were very friendly and helpful but the staff at breakfast were not. Our room was large, but frustratingly the inclusion of a cooking facility was pointless because where were no pans or crockery to go with it. Noise insulation from the floor above was poor. The swimming pool was good, but would be even nicer if the garden area around it were completed. Access to Levanto is easy by car, but not by foot. The sea is distant. All these are niggles. We enjoyed the stay.

Hotel Al Terra Di Mare was listed as a ****Hotel with a swimming pool.Indeed the location & rooms are superb with views to die for-But when we arrived on a beautiful evening in May the pool was dirty & out of use.We arrived requesting the availability of an evening meal eager to sample the typical Lingurian cuisine advertised - we were told they did not provide evening meals no drinks or coffee were offered - they did book us table in the town but as we had to drive the very steep winding roads wine was out of the question - next evening we brought our food & wine back to eat on one of their several terraces to be told it was not permitted! The room was very spacious but the bathroom small with shower only. The hotel although difficult to find & challenging to access by car is a superb location but I would not recommend a stay as it is pricey & does not offer the expected facilities. We stayed later in the week in a *** B & B in Tuscany who offered just as good if not better facilities with a warm welcome for 85 Euros per night. Hotel Al Terra di Mare did not offer typical Italian hospitality
