Das Hotel ist sauber und ruhig, liegt aber weit ab vom Schuss. Die Fahrt mit der Tram vom Bhnhof dauert 25 Minuten. Und der 10-minütige Fußweg danach von der Tramhaltestelle zum Hotel ist für allein reisende Frauen in der Nacht doch sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Passiert ist nichts, es ist einfach eine ruhige entlegene Gegend. Aber wenn man nachts mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln anreist, ist der erste Eindruck eher abschreckend.

TOO far from the city center! Unless you reach it, you cannot know about that from anywhere in provided description - it takes longer than one hour to reach the property from the main train station because you have to wait for the tram for about 15-20 minutes, then go 14 stops to a suburb, and after that still go by foot about 1km with all your luggage! Probably it is OK for car travelers but in such case it should be cold not a hotel but a motel...

The hotel was very nice, but a bit far out of the centre of Leipzig. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. I probably won't stay there again but this is only due to the location 20 minutes by tram out of the centre. If you do stay here then my top tip is to buy a Leipzig card from the Tourist Information (opposite the Hauptbahnhof). This gives you travel on the trams as well as discounts into various places and money off set menus in restaurants.

How to reach Astral Inn Leipzig Hotel & Restaurant
By car
From the motorway A9: exit at Leipzig-West. Follow the B181 in direction of Leipzig. Follow B181 for approx. 6 km, then turn left into Schönauer Landstraße (after crossing Saale-Elster-Kanal). At this point you will find a sign for Astral hotel. Follow Schönauer Landstraße for about 1,5 km, then turn right into Heinrich-Heine-Straße. Proceed for approx. 700 meters, then turn right into Südstraße. Turn left into Fabrikstraße, where you will find the hotel, after 300 meters on the right side.
By tram
From Hauptbahnhof (main station) take tram line 7 heading for Böhlitz-Ehrenberg. Leave the train at Barnecker Straße. From there follow Barnecker Straße and then Fabrikstraße. The hotel lies within 10 minutes walking distance.
