The room was small as was to be expected from the location. We were disappointed that there were no coffee or tea facilities in our room and no hairdrier in the bathroom. The food in the restaraunt was good and reasonably priced. There was no breakfast available at the time of our stay.

We arrived at night and couldn’t get into the parking of Mont Saint Michelle. I called to the hotel, but no one answered at the beginning. Finally, after trying several times, someone let us know the pin number to get into the parking. In the web page says, “private parking – first come fist serve”, but there are not enough instructions on how to get there. The location of the hotel was good, but our room was in front of a graveyard few meters ahead of the main building. That wasn’t specified on the webpage neither. The room was clean and there was enough space, but the toilet smell really bad and the shower tab was oxidized.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. It was a very old building so we could really hear when people walked up and down the stairs. We also had a room that overlooked the main path up to the abbey. In the morning, there was a lot of noise from people delivering supplies to the shops and restaurants and from those picking up the trash. But it was a really great experience to stay on the mont and to stay in such an old and interesting building.

The room that we got was bigger than what we expected, after reading other reviews. I would say it is not that small with the price we paid. Our room was facing the street but it was totally fine once we closed the windows or after the crowd was gone. The food provided by the restaurant was very good but the service was slow, I mean really slow even in French standard. We were lucky as we were amount the first round of table right after the evening tide so we got our food in reasonable speed. Those after us needed to wait for 30 minutes or even more just to order their food. With the price and the quality of the food, I would say it worth the wait. Their duck and lamb disks were super good. We ended up having our afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast there. We found the best time to walk on the sea bed was anytime from 2-6 PM for end of July. The abbey (even the Mont) was lit up entirely after 10 PM and this will be the best time to take night photo from far. I will stay in the same hotel if I visit Mont-Saint Michel again in the future.

What a wonderful, historic location. The room was typical for size in Europe. The location within the Mont St. Michel complex was excellent. I would definately stay here again without hesitation. We hope the wonderful charm will never change.
