Property inside the walls. Excellent location. My room was in the 3rd and last floor. I had no problem and enjoyed the two days in the Mont Saint-Michel.

I like this hotel. The package including both dinner and breakfast is offered at good rate. I like the restaurant. Its cuisine never disappointed me. If you are one day tripper, I recommend the restaurant for lunch or early dinner.

A bit pricey for our budget, but definitely worth it to stay on the mont. Our quad room was very spacious and full of character even though it was in the annex, so a bit of a hike. We were able to tour the abbey at night with musicians playing in various locations - it was fabulous, especially since most of the tourists had left at that point. The only real negative was that the shower leaked rather badly.

Staying on Mont St. Michel overnight really is magical! Exploring after the buses had all gone, especially when it's lit up after dark was the highlight of our trip. The rooms are expensive (by our budget standards) but the quality was excellent and the experience worth the price. It would have been nice if breakfast was included at that price but I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience. The hotel was particularly good at communicating in the initial stages; when I made the reservation I got a very welcoming email with a lovely description of what we could expect - and it lived up to expecations!

Hotel Auberge is the perfect place to stay if you want to be inside Mount Saint Michel. My mother, sister and I stayed one night in the family suite. The staff was very friendly and they even carried my moms bag for her since the family suite was located high within the mt. & away from the main hotel. For dinner we ate at the hotels restaurant and the food was good reasonably priced. We were also happy with Auberge's breakfast buffet. The buffet had every thing to from eggs, ham, cereal, yogurt, and the most delicious croissants. Even though we had to walk many steps to our room and raining when we arrived, my mom and sister were so happy with every thing.

The actual rooms are high climb (with a lot of steps) from the main road/reception/restaurant location. The room itself is nice and clean.

We had 2 couples (Age- 50's & 60's) in 2 rooms and stayed up the path and a few flights of stairs away from the main hotel in "les Logis du Chapeau Blanc", which is more steps up the rocky path but quieter as it is off the main path. The rooms had one pod for the toilet and one for the sink and shower/ tub which worked fine but the shower door did leak badly. After the buses and most tourists leave the mont is magical with lights on the abbey and many walks that take you to gardens, cemeteries, and paths to walkways with beautiful views. The rooms are in old stone buildings with ample room and ours had a slight view to the bay outside the wall. Our only problem was the Orangespot WiFi didn't work after I paid on my VISA and Orangespot didn't answer my email asking for help or my money refunded. Very disappointing! This is our 3rd visit to Mont St Michel but the first time staying the night and it was great! We wandered the paths until almost midnight after having a nice dinner facing the bay. Breakfast was a bit pricey but it was right there and it was fun watching stores all open in the morning. If you can handle the steps, do it! Practice walking uphill and on stairs first.

The hotel met and in some areas exceeded our expectations. It was in an excellent position on the main street and we found the staff to be very helpful. All the public rooms and our own room were full of character and very clean and tidy. The added bonus was a private door directly on to the ramparts of the town. If we were going to stay at Mont st Michel again, I would definitely rebook with this hotel.

Fantastic! Not the hype of Mere Poulards, nor the high price. Only a little further on up the street (and there really is only one street on the Mont). Loved it when all the buses full of other tourists left and the village got very quiet. We arrived early so the hotel kept our bags and we could go on up to the abbey and do our sightseeing. When the room was ready, the head woman at the desk took us and our bags to our room. Lovely corner room looking up at the Mont and down at the street. Highly recommend this hotel ... but not if you have trouble climbing stairs.

The hotel was quaint, very French and clean. The bathrooms seem to be quite new. Service was excellent. We chose the "part-board" option which gave us dinner the day we arrived and breakfast which we believe was a good choice. The dinner was excellent and we were surprised that our choice from the menu was one of the more expensive "prix fixe" selections. Food and service were both excellent. The location was good - only a short way up the main street from the entrance to the mont. The advice we saw on your website to only take a small overnight bag was appreciated. It is a steep climb. We found Mont St. Michel's main street to be very touristy - you run a gauntlet of souvenir shops. The museums left much to be desired. The abby, however, was interesting and the cloister was a lovely spot to sit and reflect in the quiet. The best part of our visit was wandering around the mont after dinner and all of the tourists had gone. It was magical. Worth staying over for.

The room is not bad and the location is good. Only the bathroom needs to be improved. Even placing an extra shower curtain will be much better. Otherwise, the water sprays everywhere.

This was a fine hotel. The map and directions are unnecessarily incomplete and confusing. It is very easy to find, if they would simply put it into writing, instead of an inadequate map. I would recommend this place, it was perfectly fine.

We stayed 1 night. It was a good thing we had luggage on wheels. It was a LONG way upstairs to get to our room. The room was very dingy and the restroom was terrible. The toilet was in a box that resembled a port-o-let and the room with the shower and sink flooded when showering. The view, however, was beautiful!

The staff was friendly. rooms were clean and basic. The location was worth it all. Mt St Michel is one of the most spectacular places to see. Arrive in the late afternoon to avoid tourists and take the tour of the Abbey first thing in the morning. Walking around at night after the hoards of people have left is enchanting. I also recommend the hotels "Half Board Price" which includes dinner and breakfast for 88E per person.

We really liked the Hotel Auberge. We read reviews online and booked a large, 2-story room with 4 beds that was located uphill from the main property. Hotel Auberge was very accurate about the several extra steps. We prepared by packing in small bags with shoulder straps and it was a breeze! The website said "toilettes" and I was expecting 2 toilets, but the room had 2 pre-manufactured bathroom pods - one toilet room (smelled like urine) and one shower/bath/sink room. We had 4 people and it wasn't always comfortable with the toilet situation. Also, we were told upon check-in that the restaurant closed at 9:30 p.m. BUT we didn't know every restaurant on the Mont was closed at the same time. We had several doors closed in our face, but fortunately, the restaurant at Hotel Auberge stayed open past 9:30 to accomodate us. They were friendly, had good food and a nice ambiance. For breakfast, we didn't want the hotel package because it was too much food. No other restaurant on the Mont even served customers from other hotels. We ended up driving off the Mont. On our return, we went to the "wrong" parking lot and were charged for parking, even though we showed the attendant our room key. When we mentioned this to the Hotel Auberge staff, they agreed we shouldn't have been charged and going to the right parking lot in the first place would have prevented that. This stay would have been perfect if the communication about restaurants and number of toilets and parking would have been clear and accurate and upfront. This is a very nice, affordable hotel in a beautiful setting that could be flawless if information was clearer.

The only problem with the room was that the bathroom had no heat, nor provision for heat, as far as I could tell. The housekeeping staff lugged a very large portable heater into the room, but there was no available electrical outlet in the bathroom for it either. They plugged it into an outlet in the bedroom, whicxh was not workable because the bathroom door couldn't be closed with this arrangment. Also, the bathroom which was very attractive, incidnetally, could have used a shower curtain. Nevertheless our stay at the Auberge was delightful. We were on the top floor, and our children's beds were in a loft right under the ridge of the roof. The view was spectacular. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel. As I recall, it was expensive, but very good. The fact that the building is old (but modernized, thank goodness!) was appreciated. The most successful and exciting aspect of the hotel for us and our children is the place where it is located, on the island, as opposed to the mainland. The lack of heat, outlets, etc. was surprising for such a nice hotel.

Staying on Mont Ste. Michele is definitely an experience worth doing and Hotel Auberge Saint-Pierre is in the middle of the main street. we packed a small bag for our overnight stay since the car was parked on the dam. Which is a good thing since there's no elevator. The restaurant only had french menus and the staff did not understand english. But we enjoyed our stay

We stayed at a quadruple room. The room was much larger than we thought, and it was clean and comfortable. We liked it very much. There were only two negative points. As the room was separated from the main building, we had to go up a steep slope and stairs to get there. And, the telephone was not connected to the main building (maybe it was out of order), so we couldn't call the reception. It was interesting that some other booking sites didn't show me that hotel had a quadruple room, but Venere did. I really appreciate Venere. Thanks!

The hotel was great, but the whole Le Mont-Saint-Michel visit made the experience. Breakfast was good, recommend including it because there wasn't anything else open. We arrived late at night, so staying on the Mont made everything so convenient. What a beautiful town. Must visit the Abbey!

If you go to Mont St. Michel, definitely stay on the Mont. Auberge Saint-Pierre is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is perfect. We went in November during the off season, and it was wonderful- almost no one on the Mont after sunset, so we had the whole place to ourselves.

We had asked for a room overlooking the bay and were pleased with the lovely view. The actual room is part of a series of smaller homes that have been converted into rooms. We had the best shower of all the hotels we had stayed at in France. The room was small but we loved the ambience. It was well worth staying the night. You really get a feeling of the serenity of Mont St Michel once everyone has gone for the day. It was nice not to feel rushed to see everything before the buses left. Be prepared to walk up hill all day.

Loved our brief (1 night) stay here. Hotel was great value for us, as we really wanted to stay right on the Mont. Walk from car park to hotel was a long way, but that is the case for all accom. on the Mont. When we arrived, we were informed our room was in a separate building further up the Mont. Our quad room was very large, and consisted of 2 floors with 3 double beds in total. The shower leaked quite badly and we ended up with water all over the bathroom - only negative. Good value hotel, and I'm so glad we decided to stay right on the Mont. As soon as the tour buses leave, the place becomes magical. Would stay here again.

Main hotel is located near the bottom of the main hill on the island. A lot of the hotel rooms are detached from the hotel further up the hill. Be warned, there are a lot of steps so pack light! Being further up the hill is a bonus as it means your room is away from the main bustle and noise. Don't expect spacious 20th century style hotel rooms. These are mainly old houses converted into hotels (hence only giving 5 out of 10 for space..but that is not the reason you come and stay on the island).

It was a wonderful experience staying Auberge Saint-Pierre. When we booked, I requested the bay-view room, they kindly offered the room with extra room charge. The room we stayed was very supacious, and clean. The best thing was definitely "the view". Sunrise was gorgeous! Also, we had dinner at their restaurant which was great too. If we have chance to come back, we would go there again.

The room (a triple) was charming and immaculate. The windows overlooked a lovely garden and the wall of the city out to the sea. Best of all, one can walk out to the ramparts from a side entrance that avoids all the crowds in the streets. Really a lovely visit that met our expectations. The restaurant was also excellent and very warm and inviting on a wet evening.

The room is spacious and comfortable. The price is reasonable. The staff is very friendly and can speak good English. The price is too high for the room quality (2stars equivalent), but you're in Mont-St-Michel.. We stayed one night in the hotel, and it's definitely better to stay in the Mount because in the evening all the tourists return, and you have the village for you. We were in a room with view on the bay and it worths the 10 euros more ! About the visit of the Abbey. If you can, make the "conference-visit" it lasts 2 hours, it's only 4 € more than the normal price, but it defintely worths it ! You go through places where nobody can go except the conference-guide and the monks. Exceptionnal ! Beside the Abbey, the groupe of 4 museums (historical - ecology - archeoscope and Tiphaine'house ) don't worth to waste time on them. Have a good stay !

My husband and I read the earlier comments before traveling to Mont St. Michel, and only brought one overnight bag--which was good because the streets are very steep. We took a chance and left our big suitcsaes in the rental car in the lot reserved for hotel guests, and it was fine (we recommend you only consider this if you can put them out of sight). It's a little unclear when you first arrive where to park; go into the last lot to the left off the main road (where the tour buses park) to register and you won't have to carry your bags as far--then you can move your vehicle into the hotel guest lot. Our double room was up the street from the main inn, and the friendly front desk clerk escorted us (good thing, because we never would have found it; pay attention to landmarks, so that you can find it after a walk on your own!). Simple room and bath were adequate (the word "quaint" comes to mind), and the view was priceless: we had asked for a room with a view of the bay, but didn't expect a full balcony. We paid a little more, but every time we looked out at the Mont and the bay, we felt it was worth every euro (the views for this and all the hotels is back towards the salt meadows and the mainland, which means your view is of some side streets, the parking lots and the water below and the top of the Mount above and behind--but if you're there at the right time, you can actually see the tide coming in). Do not stay here if (or anywhere on Mont St. Michel) if you want luxury; that said, if you go for the history, you won't be disappointed. We recommend staying on the Mont, because after the day trippers leave, the place is wonderfully quiet.

Had a wonderful stay. This is a very quaint hotel that is very clean and comfortable. Le Mont Saint Michel is exceptional - very beautiful. Mont. St. Michel has a captive market, certainly on weekends and particularly on the weekend when the patron saint of France, St. Michael, is celebrated. Therefore, we considered ourselves fortunate to locate a room. As for spaciousness, everything on the Mont exists in a confined space, so all rooms are going to be small. The experience of staying on the Island was a 10+. The inconvenience of many stairs and small rooms pales by comparison.

Were were a family of 4 - 2 adults & 2 boys ages 9 & 12. Place was nicely located with a great view of the bay & surroundings. We had a loft which gave us some privacy from our sons and them some space. The hike up to the room was not as bad as we thought and we WORTH IT. Spend one night but one of our best on our 6 week trip. Would stay again. Watch-out for the entry door as it would slam very hard such that we thought the glass would break. Everything was as represented. Comfortable rooms, good-filling breakfast, competent staff. The view from the rooms was breathtaking. Outside rooms view the bay, inside rooms view the abbey. The toilet and bathroom were plastic, one-piece models installed in the rooms. It gave the effect of a port-o-let. That was the only unpleasant part about the stay. Getting to the room was pretty hard, with all our luggage. There are no vehicles on the island and all the steps make for a good workout, toting all that luggage.

Upon check in, we were offered a choice of a room on the first floor with easier access, or a room with a view of the ramparts but with access up 53 stairs (actually 58 very narrow spiral stairs) and no elevator. The climb was difficult with luggage, but worth it. The view was good, accomodations nice, clean, with a desk and couch in addition to the 2 single beds. The bathroom was small but addequate. We would stay here again, especially because we had Le Mont Saint Michel almost to ourselves in the evening and morning without the throngs of tourists.

The visit was great and painless. Next time I would pay the 10 euros more for a sea view room, wasn't an option I saw. But it means you should have access to the breeze from the ocean if it is warm as it was when we were there. Also in summer the main street is open to 11 or so is it is warm and you have windows open plan on some people noise until then. Both small issues, we really enjoyed our stay, everything was as represented and was great.

Not recommended. We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and they gave us a corner room over the bar/restaurant and the stairs to enter the building. It was very loud when we checked in (around 4pm) so we asked if we could have a different room. The woman told us that the street would quiet down by 6:30 once most visitors had left. Well, it didn't quiet down until past midnight. Then at 5am came the garbage & delivery transports. It was impossible to sleep! We would not have minded so much if the place was amazing, but honestly you could visit Mont St. Michel in a day. Beware, it's very touristy & all of the prices are astronomical - especially food. We spent 50 euros on a dinner that was worth maybe 20 (with flies swarming around everywhere). Also this hotel was not THAT nice. I would not rate it 3 stars - MAYBE 2 stars! The hotels & food down the road (not on le mont) are much more reasonable (~40 euros per night) and just as accesible to the island. They're not as far away as I had thought. The service at this hotel has not very good either as the reception to our complaints was not at all compassionate. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!

Very nice room at a reasonable price (for the area) and we had a room with a beautiful view of the main street and Mont St Michel.

e' un bell'albergo nel cuore di mont saint michel , il prezzo e' anche rapportato al luogo bellissimo in cui si trova, pero' per una notte ne vale la pena .la colazione era abbondante e la pulizia nelle stanze buona...

We are a family of four and wanted to stay overnight on Mont Saint Michel. Auberge Saint-Pierre was an excellent choice for us. The hotel has a two level family room with a large bed and bathroom on one floor and two single beds in a loft reached by a very steep stairway from the main room. My children (10 and 12, girl and boy) loved the loft. The room is quite small but the loft made efficient use of the space. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, and well-furnished. We did not eat at the hotel as it was too expensive--we brought our own breakfast with us from the mainland. The hotel is in a very old building built right against the battlements, and the children had a good view from the window in the loft. The hotel's back door exits right onto the battlements and was convenient for touring. Staying on Mont Saint Michel is expensive compared to the mainland but it was worth the cost. In the evening and early morning it was very quiet. We took a long walk around the battlements after all the tourists had left, and thoroughly enjoyed the ancientness of the environment. Visits to the Abbaye and various museums were also quite interesting, and we all learned a lot as well as having a good time! If you can afford the higher hotel costs I highly recommend spending a night on Mont Saint Michel, and Auberge Saint Pierre is a excellent hostelry, particularly if you have children.

The view from our room was magnificent. We arrived late in the evening, and the hostess offered us a meal even though the restaurant was closed. From our windows we could see the top of the Abbey above the rooftops above and the cobbled streets in the path below. It was a wonderful place to stay as it was right in the heart of the Island itself.

This is a clean, unique hotel with a wonderful group of people working to assist you in any way. The surroundings are fabulous to begin with and to us staying here only added to the ambiance.

We arrived after dark and I was concerned about finding our hotel, but just as described it was a short walk up the main (only) street on Mont St. Michele. The receptionist was very nice and very helpful. Our room was charming but small. The bed was a little saggy but we were in a 800 year old inn. Our boys really enjoyed the spiral staircase climb up to their loft room but my 16 year old did bump his head on the ceiling when he got up during the night.Overall we loved staying on Mont St. Michele and would definitely highly recommend it again. We felt like we were in the movie The Wizard of OZ when we explored the ramparts late at night with very few other tourists about. Venere was very helpful with our reservations.

My daughter spent Palm Sunday weekend at Mont ST Michel. It was a wonderful experience. As we left the hotel, a procession was coming toward us. Leading the procession were priests swinging incense holders, holding crosses and singing. Behind them were hundreds of people waving palms and singing. It was an experience we will never forget. The Auberge St Pierre was clean and charming and we had access to the ramparts from the hall near our room. The service was friendly and we were able to leave our bags after check out until we left the Mont. The restaurant downstairs was also charming and very good. I would definately return again. KH

There can't be many hotels with such a dramatic backdrop. Driving over the causeway on to Le Mont St Michel the drizzle lifted and the floodlighting came dramtically on - perfect. We were there on one of the days when no high-tide was due, so we parked in the public car park rather than the ones reserved for hotel guests. One of the downsides of staying on the Mont St Michel is the fact that you have to struggle your luggage from the car park to your hotel; one of the reasons I had chosen the Auberge St Pierre was that it was relatively close to the main gate, so the struggle was kept to a minimum! You enter the hotel through the residents restaurant and the reception is up a narrow winding tiled staircase (the first of many!). Up another two flights to our room, one of the family rooms with one double bed and two single beds. The single beds were reached by a still narrower spiral staircase and so my son had a wonderful view out over the rooftops. For extra security there is a kiddie-gate at the top of the stairs. The bathroom was large enough, with bath and shower as well as the loo and wash-basin, all nicely done and good quality fittings. There was an ingenious combination wall heater/hair-dryer/shaver point as well as the usual toiletries. The beds were a little soft for our liking, but the room was compact, clean and warm and fine for a weekend break. We dined in the restaurant which definitely a good decision - lamb was borderline historic and the wine list very acceptable. Breakfast was another 10 Euros a head but there was a plentiful buffet, with the lovely croissants a particular hit. Coffee hot and plentiful, lots of fresh fruit and a simple selection of cold meats and cheese. The staff throughout were polite, friendly and helpful and we would have no hesitation in booking again.

We particularly liked the private back entrance leading directly on to the ramparts. It gave us a special feel that we were part of the fabric - not mere tourists.

The rooms were quite nice . They were located in a very old, thick-walled building. The only problem, and it was a very big problem for one member of our party, was that although the hotel itself was located very close to the entrancd of la Grande Rue and almost opposite La Mere Poulard, the rooms we were assigned were far up the road. We were able to manage the Grande Rue .....it was steep....but we really had problems with our baggage after leaving the Grande Rue and having to climb many steps and inclines to get to our rooms. My friend was utterly exhausted by the time we arrived. I was unprepared for the great distance up steep roads and steps as I knew when I made the reservation that the Auberge was close to the entrance and should have been easily attained. We were not offered any assistance at all. In fact, the young woman who showed us the way...we would never have been able to find it by ourselves... did not slow down for us. As we had been told to take out everything from our car as the parking was not guarded at night, we each had one medium wheeled bag and one small carryon....On a flat, stairless surface, our bags were never any problem.

Food was evcellent but we would have appreciated a more varied vegetarian menu. WE had to choose from a restricted menu which meant that we could not take advantage of the demi-pension. However, we did eat at the Auberge each evening and thoroughly enjoyed our stag.
