Hotel Concordia - Le Mans

Nice welcome, but the hotel is very much "faded elegance) and needs refurbishing. Very good location and easy to find. Restaurant closed for the public holiday.

Beautiful building. Nice room. Charges for WiFi outrageous.

This is a perfectly pleasant hotel which does not deserve its 4star rating because the facilities do not match up. A skeleton staff, although pleasant and helpful, meant that towels etc and lightbulbs were inadequate (although replaced promptly) and the minibar was empty. It was also very much selfservice at the buffet breakfast.

We stayed at the weekend and were upgrade to a suite. One of the better rooms we had on our trip thought France. So that was great. The bar and restaurant (apart from breakfast) are closed at weekends, so, not so great. Hotel is difficult to navigate to, even with sat nav, as there is a new tram system right outside the front. Best to approach from the east or south.

Extremely helpfull staff, we forgot a personal item in the room and it was sent to us the next day without delay. The rooms could be quiter, an extractor fan by the main entrance kept going off every 3 minutes or so, also an issue of people outside screaming and partying into early hours (admittedly not hotel's fault).

As everywhere in France, excellent food&drink readily available in the area. explore the fantastic cuisine in the old part of town.

A note or map regarding the difficulty of getting to the hotel because of extensive road works in Le Mans would have been a big help. An excellent choice of items for breakfast except that the boiled egg machine doesn't! Would use again.
