Hotel Le Petit Vatel - Le Havre

I searched for this hotel based on the price, but I was extremely pleased to find that it was very comfortable, and the reception staff was excellent. I always try to stay away from the typical American style hotels, opting instead for doing things "à la française," so I was not surprised to find that there was no elevator. However, the receptionist/owner was eager to help my American friends with their bulky bags. I really enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget. Don't forget to visit Les Halles market just behind the hotel.

Rooms are very small, too small... Breakfeast is too expensive versus what is proposed by the buffet, at least 1,5 € below!

No special comment. It's a standard 2 stars hotel, well located, clean and quiet.

Hotel molto carino e pulito con uno staff familiare ma all'altezza. La mia camera era piccola ma confortevole e la posizione è ottima sia per passeggiare nel centro della città sia per andare alla spiaggia che dista poco meno di 1 km. Ho apprezzato molto il fatto che ci fosse la TV satellitare.

This hotel was okay. The phones did not work but the room was clean. The hotel was hard to find at first and no close parking garage. The staff were very helpful, especially since my daughter broke her arm during our visit.

We liked the Hotel and surroundings so much we went there again on our way home.

Have now used this hotel twice and I am loathed to say too much just in case i can't get another booking there. The management are excellent, friendly and very helpful. Buffet breakfasts are more than adequate. Ideal position for going into town (5 minutes). Parking for the hotel can sometimes be a lottery, but I have never failed in getting a parking space that is less than two minutes walk from the hotel.

A very simple but good stay. Breakfast also good!

This was just like a youth hostel; small, dingy, not very clean and loud. I would not stay here again.

This hotel is easy to find and close to the beach and many restaurants. There is no lift and many stairs, but the staff was extremely helpful with carrying luggage up and down the stairs. They advertised internet and food, but neither were available when we stayed there. The best part was when my husband's wallet slipped out of his pocket in the lounge area without him realizing it...until the staff returned it to us with nothing missing!

Small but very comfortable,the staff were only to happy to help.I would certainly use them again.

We found the staff very friendly, helpfull and polite, rooms of a resonable standard but clean and cosy. Reasonably priced. Would certainly go again.

Nice hotel with just enough space to sleep and wash. Good enough for a couple of days in Le Havre and surroundings, where we visited the d-day landing beaches and l'Etretat.

Excellent accommodation for price paid, clean, help full staff, breakfast offered was fresh, varied and plentiful. Only grumble could do with coffee/tea making facilities in room. Will definately return and recommend this hotel. Thank you
