Hotel Regina - Lausanne

Triple room too small. Simple buffet, little choice according to the price. No air-conditioning in the room but a blade fan.

That's really quite a climb from the train station to the hotel, so you'd rather use the subway to get there.

This hotel is located in the city center of Lausanne. However, it was very quiet enough to sleep in the night. Not many noise actually, even in the night because all the shops are closed after 1900 or 2000. Morning meal was not nice...as there were only cold ham, cheeze, and bread...that's it. Wanted at least some vegetables.....

This hotel was quiet and welcoming. There was no tea/coffee making facilities but the room was clean and comfortable, The wi-fi was free.

Warm welcome and good service. We requested a quiet room and got one with a lovely view of the cathedral. Bathroom was spacious but could use a little updating. Breakfast was very good. Free internet was appreciated.

Nice hotel - awesome location in the heart of lausanne shopping district just blocks from hotel de ville. Good value especially for the area, although the rooms are small and had no air conditioning (which you really feel in August).

We enjoyed Michael's local knowledge and hospitality so much that we returned for a few days, and once again Michael and his wife were so welcoming and helpful. The old city centre is fun with great shops and markets. Michael steered us to some excellent restaurants such as La Poste in Lutrey. The castle at Chillon was interesting, and the Jazz festival in Montreaux was a superb day out.

A basic but nice, clean, quiet and welcoming hotel in the very centre of Lausanne. And WiFi Internet is available and complementary! Staff is very friendly, and helps you in finding the place and parking your car at significantly reduced rates in the nearby garage. Their restaurant recommendations proved very good too. (!) Beware: it's the pedestrian area in the very centre of the city. One can't even approach it by car, so if you've got a lot of luggage, you'll face problems... You can park temporarily near the bookstore relatively close to the hotel to unload. And the underground parking garage is approximately 700-900 meters away...

The staff during the day was excellent. They were able to recommend restaurants to us. The hotel was located within a central area of Lausanne. There was food, shopping, and some sights. There is quit a walk up a hill from the train station to the hotel. So if you are weary from travel, I recommend a taxi (about 10 euros or 15 francs). The rooms a a nice size for a European hotel and clean.

Friendly staff, great location

We stayed at the Regina for two nights and had a very comfortable stay. The hotel had a pleasant ambience and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and had an attractive outlook over the rooftops to the cathedral. Breakfast was quite generous and the location of the hotel in the centre of the old town was excellent. We would stay at the Regina again.

Everything was excellent. We also had wireless internet in the room FOR FREE, which although at times had poor quality, overall was good enough for browsing and even voice-over-IP.

This hotel is a wonderful stay due in large part to extremely gracious staff and owners. You feel as though you are a guest in their home. The rooms are comfortable and clean, if a bit small and the location is great. Breakfast is wonderful and you get the very best recommendations for activities and sights over breakfast if you ask. I would stay again and again.

Quiet area, reasonable price. Somewhat difficult to find, but when you take a map in the hotel...

Very pleasant hotel - but quite a climb from Lausanne railway station. Take the Metro for 1 stop, ascend the public elevator and cross the footbridge - that will get you to the correct level.

While the room and bathroon were quite small, the breakfast was delicious and the manager/owner was extremely warm and helpful. The hotel is located right in the historic area of the city, but a pretty long and steep walk from the lake. We took the trolley back to the hotel rather than walk about a mile uphill.
