It is Switzerland you don't expect a cheap Hotel, but was worth it, no breakfast included, we thought was it. the reception staff was nice, and very friendly.

We booked a room just for a Saturday night. The hotel is perfectly located, could not be better, just next to the metro station and close to shops, old town and bars. On the other hands, even though the room was pretty clean, there was a smell of "old smoke" in the room (it was a non smoking room) and the pilows had a funny smell too. The rooms in general need a serious refurbishing. The other problem is the noise at night due to car traffic and the fact that the hotel is located in an aera of Lausanne with many bars and clubs. People use to shout outside until 4am. We had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep.

Very quiet despite the central location. VERY close to metro, historical buildings and shopping areas. Expensive breakfast with excellent view

Good hotel in good position. Our room was clean and quite. Price/qualiy ratio is OK for Switzerand ...only negative note the TV didn't work ...anyway raccomended

The staff in breakfast room was unfreindly and no coffee or breadrolls for visitors a waiting for first coffee some of the visitors have to chase her to the kitchen.

The hotel was very convenient & of a reasonable standard for the price your reception people were helpful & friendly with a good command of English. we did find a problem with the breakfast which was VERY over priced & lacking in good food value & WE DID NOT APPRECIATE THE STAFF MEMBER WITH A LIMITED ENGLISH STANDING OVER US TELLING WHAT WE COULD NOT EAT!!!!!!! Never found this at any of the many many hotels we have stayed at over the past months in Europe

Hotel was fine. Not spectacularly clean but 90% there, which was fine. i.e. when I got there the rubbish bin from the previous people hadn't been taken out. Staff very competent. Bit of a ridiculous internet situation -- one computer for the whole hotel, but I never had too many problems with access. Hotel in an EXCELLENT location, right next to the metro, very easy to get to -- but also 2mins walk from the old part of town i.e. the cathedral etc. Had a great stay overall. Didn't try try the breakfast but it smelled good :)

The 60 cozy guestrooms at Hotel City are soundproofed and feature private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, towels, basic toiletry kits, makeup/shaving mirrors and hair dryers.All accommodations come with climate control, a flat-screen LCD TV, including over 100 satellite channels and DVD player, complimentary wireless Internet access, radio, minibar, in-room safe, desk and telephone. A large executive desk is also available for your correspondence. Some rooms have garden views and are located on upper floors.
Upon request, hotel staff will provide for cribs (infant beds) as well as ironing facilities. All guestrooms are non-smoking.

By trainFrom Lausanne railway station, take the Metro M2, opposite of the railway station. Take the line direction Croisettes and exit at station Bessières (only 3 stops away). Take the lift up, Hotel City is right at the exit.
By airplane
From Geneva Cointrin International Airport (GVA): after the custom, follow the indication toward the railway station. Journey to Lausanne lasts more or less 40 minutes. Once at Lausanne railway station, follow the same indications as above.
