The Reception staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English - they had been informed that we had cancelled our reservation (which we had not!) but were still able to accommodate us, even though our daughters' room was small with a view of the air conditioning plant, which was disappointing. One complaint - we had an excellent meal on the first night but on our second night it was hammering down with rain and when we asked to eat in the restaurant again were told it was full, even though the hotel itself was not full. We had to set out in the middle of a storm on a bank holiday to find somewhere to eat and failed - we ended up with crisps. It should be made clear at Reception that staying at the hotel does not guarantee getting a place in the restaurant. The hotel itself though is beautifully renovated and very quiet and the girls enjoyed the small pool at the end of a hot day. Breakfast was wonderful and worth the extra money. I would say the hotel is a little on the expensive side but a good experience and close to Florence.

hotel was excellent - we had difficulty in locating the hotel due to our sat nav being used to locate hotel (Florence has a street with the same address and i had not inserted the district correctly) - once we arrived though we were very pleased with the accommodation.

From the A1 motorway, take the 'Firenze Scandicci' exit. Then proceed on the Fi-Pi-Li highway. Take the 'Ginestra Fiorentina' exit, and follow signs to Montelupo Fiorentino. After 2 km, you will find the hotel on your right.
