the room bathroom was not clean, the bathroom door did not shut, there was a spider in the bed, the costumer service was very poor and they definitely were not busy. we waited 25 minutes to check into our room because the one person that could check us in was at a meeting, when she did arrive she wasn't very pleasant. The Hotel needs some work on cleanliness and costumer service. I will not re returning anytime soon.

We stayed in a 2-queen room. There was 1-packet of coffee that made 2 cups. 1-packet each of creamer & sugar!? Night desk clerk was very accommodating, she got us a basket of creamer & sugar from the kitchen. We had reserved 2-nights but only stayed for 1. The bar service was poor & drinks were expensive. No gambling machines available (not necessary for us, we don't gamble.) Thanksgiving Buffet was VERY pricey $25/per person. Presentation was very poor at buffet. There were "chunks" of turkey, no slices of meat. The ham was sliced. Pies were not exceptional. Side dishes were standard, no effort or imagination on chef's part. No elevator but only 3 floors. NO SMOKING AT ALL. Beautiful setting and very close to Las Vegas. My kind of setting and welcomed after the noise, hustle & glare of Las Vegas. Overall we were not impressed but extremely happy with the rate we paid through Venere compared to the hotel's rack rate.

There was no one to help with 2 heavy suitcases to the second floor (stairs, no elevator). First room was all the way to the back from the hallway entrance and card key did not work. Walked all the way down to the desk and had another room assigned at the very front...so toting suitcases back and forth was a negative! And I will say, there were very few guests, and I had no idea there were rooms on the first floor until after hauling the suitcases upstairs and the room key not working. When I went downstairs, she asked if I wanted a room on the first floor, and of course, told her "no" as now the suitcases were on the 2nd floor.

This is one great hotel, but it can hardly be classified as being in Las Vegas. It is about 30 miles away from the Strip (an hour's drive into the mountains), so anyone interested in hitting the gambling tables or the local girls should look elsewhere. On the other hand, this is a magnificent 'hotel du charme', all wood, stone fireplaces and stuffed animals. Much like the Bear Mountain Inn near New York, or the Chateau Montebello in Canada. The perfect retreat for newly-weds and romantic couples...

The on-site restaurant A Cut Above offers sumptuous lunch and dinner meals with a reasonably-priced menu featuring steaks, chicken, and delicious appetizers. There is a wonderful view of the nearby mountains and a distinct cosy ambiance. This restaurant is the perfect place for an intimate evening meal and provides a welcome break from the neon lights of downtown Las Vegas restaurants. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Bistro is famous for its irresistible coffees which you can accompany with a range of delicious cakes and pastries. the Bistro also provides sandwiches and light snacks.

The Bar & Lounge is a large area with comfortable seating featuring large flat-screen TVs. This spot is great for watching sports matches with a beer and the staff are as enthusiastic as their guests.
