Exe Gran Hotel Almenar - Las Rozas de Madrid

This hotel is a little bit far from downtown Madrid, but it is really nice. The rooms are really big, nice and confortable. We had small problems, such as the TV wouldn't work one night, but the hotel stuff solved the problem immediatly. I would go back to this hotel for sure, and it is close to a very nice outlet center.

We reserved a suite for 5 nights. Arrived after nearly 24 hours of traveling and there was no room for us. Luckily I had my printout with confirmation number. They put us in a neighbouring hotel for 1 night with a promise of a suite there. We paid the same price but just had a very small, stuffy room. As we were in town for a wedding and had already given this hotel number to several of our friends this was very inconvenient. The reason we booked 5 nights is because we didn't want to take time packing and moving. We complained the next day and after a discussion they offered free breakfast for the rest of our stay. On the 3rd night a large bus full of teenagers arrived and were very noisy in the hallways late into the night. We decided to check out early and move somewhere else but they still tried to charge us for an extra night. The hotel is in a residential/industrial area - I would not recommend staying here unless you have a car. It is also difficult to find, not marked very well. The street address did not show up on our GPS - we eventually programmed in another number on the same street to get close.

Nice and clean romms, however very poor soundproofing, it's almost as if peoples from next rooms were in your room.

This hotel can be best described as being in the middle of nowhere. Just off the motorway it is ok for groups led everywhere by bus but there is nowhere to go near it if you are by yourself. Directions are terrible, if you arrive by car you are faced by a structure surrounded everywhere by gates and it is even difficult to find the small side entrance.The soundproofing of the room is so bad I could follow the conversation in the room next to mine at midnight.Also the second night a group of students arrived at night, the noise in the hall was horrendous and with all rooms facing the large central hall it was impossible to escape it. The room was smallish (it was a double single use) and rather dark but the lighting was good and abundant.Also a plus is the staff which is friendly and the price and cleanliness which are OK.Overall I would recommend it only for a hotel to spend one night whille travelling somewhere else, as it is so convenient to access the A6 from it. if you are a tourist, forget it.
