The Magnólia Mar Beach Club Aparthotel is located in the seafront of the wonderful Praia Porto de Mós beach, in Lagos, right in the south coast of Portugal.

Construction sites everywhere. The hotel doesn't seem very old, yet it is not in very good condition. Doesn't look as good as on the pictures.

What an awful experience. The room given to us when we checked-in was not even cleaned. After requesting to change to a different room at the front desk, we were told the hotel was fully booked (in December??!!) and we therefore had to wait for the cleaning staff to show-up. The room was finally prepared when we returned from town in the evening. The bedsheets smelt however suspicious. In general the room was dark, cold and very uninviting. The bathroom was old with barely functioning facilities, not to mention the strange(!!) warnings on the walls about possible fines if towels are stained. Is this a way to make the guest feel welcome? For the two beds in the room, only one huge table lamp is available for lighting on one side. The supposedly cable TV has only 2 Portuguese channels. We again encountered very unfriendly warnings to the guests posted in the kitchen - threatened to charge 100 euros if things are not cleaned and put back into the cupboard. All these things are for sure not making a person want to be back there. Our room was of course not cleaned on the following day either. Only after coming home and reading other reviews we found the uncleanness of the location is a known character. We did not try out the bar/restaurants but they didn't seem to be much of an experience from other travelers reviews. The only plus side is perhaps the low price posted on the Internet. But even that was almost tampered with when we were checking out, as someone tried to charge us at a price which was 40% higher than originally quoted. All in all our stay was very unpleasant. For sure will not return.

Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

Check-in: the rooms are available at any time after 2 p.m.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than 10 a.m.
