If you are looking to stay in a place right outside of the Cinque Terre then this is a great hotel. It is just feet from the train station (walk out the train station and turn right- you can see the hotel sign from there). It is also convenient (about 10 minute walk) to the ferry that you can take the boat to see the region- if you want a different view than from the train. JUST NOTE- the wifi is not free in the room- you have to use the T3 line- but they do provide a line for you. The wifi is only free in the lobby. The wine tasting was great and the bartender was from America and she shared a lot of great tips!

Nice hotel steps from the rail station. Rooms were okay sized with recent upgrades. There were many common areas, but could only be used as per the rules. Nice breakfast on the rooftop terrace, which should have been open all day. On the one side of the hotel, the street noise was horrible and could be heard all night long.

Hotel in a fantastic location right by the train station. As I was only there for one night this suited me fine, rather than having to lug my suitcase all over town. Short stroll into the centre of La Spezia and about 20 minutes to the port. Great for stopping over. Room was nice and clean - shower was great!!! Breakfast served on top floor is a really nice treat and a good way to start the day. Staff friendly and helpful. Thank you!!

A 60-second walk to the train station means it is ideally located for accessing the Cinque Terre. It is also very close to La Spezia's city centre. The reception staff are very approachable and willing to give good travel and touring information. It was also nice to be recognised by them from the second day of our 8 day stay. The breakfast was very satisfactory although the catering staff were under a lot of pressure to keep the dining area functioning - an extra staff member would have been helpful. The room allocated when we checked in was quite small for our length of stay but once we asked for a change we were facilitated with a much nicer one. The only criticisms; the beds were a bit uncomfortable and the noise from the traffic from 7.00am - to be expected in a city centre location. Our summary; we'd recommend it for anyone visiting for business or exploring the Cinque Terre, perhaps not so suitable for young children because of it's lack of outside facilities.

Extremely small room with two tiny single beds. it is not comfortable for average north American physiques. No TV in the room except one small computer monitor which we supposed to watch TV Programs. (no key board nor access to internet) Room is clean and tidy but extremely small. The windows open to the next building so there is no view at all. However close to the traffic the noise contiues throught the night. We would NOT recommend this hotel for any group or person.

The hotel is very well located for visiting the lovely Cinque Terre villages by using the train. We took daily passes that allowed us to go back and forth as many times as we wanted, walk the tracks between the villages and come back to rest at the hot mid day July hours. Hotel is clean and practical and breakfast is very nice and plentiful. Although the price is slightly high for what the facilities have to offer we recommend the hotel to other travellers that want to visit this lovely part of Italy. The area around the hotel is nice, with a wonderful local market on Saturday. Parking is practical in the public paid parking lot, but a bit expensive. Our GPS had a hard time to pin point the entrance, take a Google map with the eaxct directives to help you. Once you are there you realise it is actually easy to reach !

This hotel is very well situated for the railway station / town centre and Cinque Terre of course. All fully satisfactory but our fault to stay 4 nights in La Spezia (a rather gruby place) - 2 would have been OK or would recommend staying in Genoa and train down - train service is a Wow!

We stayed at this hotel for its location next to the train station going to Cinque Terre. However, the price/value make it a terrible choice in spite of its location. The general condition of the hotel is definitely not up to its rating.

The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to be helpful. In one instance we had not received mail we were expecting when we had to leave to catch the train to Venice, While waiting for the train the front desk staff came to the train station to give us our mail (which were our train tickets from Venice to Paris). She knew we needed the tickets. |As I said above and beond. Thank You.

The best thing about this hotel was it's proximity to the rain station and Cinque Terre. The desk staff was nice and very helpful with directions. The breakfast buffet was good, and included several hot items, which was great. The bathroom had the smallest shower ever. My elbows hit the sides constantly, and washing my hair was an adventure. The room felt much smaller than what was pictured on the web. The knob on the furnace in the bedroom was broken. It took the maintenance person two trips to get the right tools and get it turned off. The walls were very thin, and we could hear conversations next door. We traveled Europe for 11 nights, and I felt this was the worst value of the whole trip. For the price we paid, we were disappointed.

the Hotel Firenze e Continentale was most enjoyable, Jen in the bar is very friendly and knowledgable of the area and recommended some wonderful places to visit and eat at. My only "moan" was that i would have loved Tea & Coffee facilities in the room.the location is excellent for the trains which are fantastic, cheap and easy to use.

The major advantage of this hotel was it's proximity to La Spezia rail station- literary across the road!Very convenient and surprisingly not as noisy as you would expect so close to a railway. The hotel is older, so the rooms are not up to the modern day expectations of some, but we found ours room and brand new bathroom very comfortable. Breakfast was OK on European standards-a nice sunny breakfast room was a great meeting place for all guests- most were middle aged couples like ourselves. This was a great location for the Cinque Terre- a simple train trip of 19mins to Monterosso to the start of the walk. The shopping centre is a few minutes walk and the harbour to catch the ferries not much further on.There was a young girl on reception when we arrived and she was very helpful with information re buying tickets for Cinque Terre, however a few of her colleagues we met on other days needed to take some lessons from her re courtesy- I think they had a charisma bypass!!All in all, a good stay.

The hotel was right across the street from the train station as promised. It was very easy to get in and out of Cinque Terre and is a good option for visiting the area. The check in by Mauro was less than welcoming -- he barely lifted his head to give us our key -- never told us about the area or even smiled. The other staff members we dealt with were ok but not great. The train station didn't provide the room noise -- it was the heavy doors slamming all over the place. The room itself was very small but I've found this typical of hotels in Italy in this price range.

The low rating on value-for-money was because we booked last minute, and they only had a suite left. Though my wife says it was worth every penny of the 230 euro/night cost to have two bathrooms, I wasn't as convinced. The hotel's proximity to the train station is a huge plus. We used this place as a launching point to explore the Cinque Terre - and it didn't disappoint in that regard. However, the room itself was a bit dark. The bed wasn't super-comfortable either (two twins pushed together to make a king). Just not a 230/night experience, in my opinion, especially since we had such better experiences at B&B's for 120/night. The breakfast was very good, and choices were plentiful. The hotel staff was very professional and all spoke at least some english. We were usually the last to make it up to breakfast. One of the staff kindly left it open longer for us, while the lady on the next day started dropping not-so-subtle hints like turning off the lights on us. We'd probably stay here again at the room rate, but not at the suite rate. It's really a pretty good launching point for exploring the Cinque Terre if you'd rather have a hotel than stay in an apartment in the CT.

I was pleased with how near this delightful hotel was to the train station. It was so easy to stay there and visit Cinque Terre. It was so convenient. I didn't have to carry my luggage to the Cinque Terre towns. Also, I wanted an air conditioned room in case it was extremely hot. I remember the older American hotels of my youth and I was pleased to stay in an older European hotel which has been renovated so that it is beautiful and has all the comforts that travelers desire.

Its not a bad place to stay if you are visiting CinqueTerra but don't want to have to figure out how to get all of your luggage there, etc. Its very easy to get to and from Cinque Terra, and you just need a bed and don't plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, then it would be fine. The "ramp" in front of the station is the actual road you turn left on and walk 50 yards to the hotel front door! This hotel is Beautiful and has lovely rooms and amenities! The staff were lovely and helpful. The view was of the lovely hill with pretty houses, the train station below was not noisy at all, stopped running at midnight. For a hotel only a few meters from the railway station, it was surprisingly quiet. It was also very convenient if taking the regional train to Cinque Terre. The room and services were adequate for what I wanted and the price was moderate. There was a nice cocktail hour for those who wanted this. The best feature was an excellent breakfast in a rooftop salon with lovely view of the mountains. My biggest disappointment was the lack of good restaurants within walking distance. Several were closed when I was there and the one across the street wasn't very good. As a single traveller, I also found the local restaurants very slow in serving me. This wasn't the fault of the hotel but would make a difference in whether I stay there in future.

Ideal location for a visit to Cinque Terre as it's directly next to the train station for a 9 minute ride to the first Cinque Terre town of Riomaggiore. It is well appointed and has a certain elegant charm, and does not feel faded and low-budget as one might expect given that its primary use is probably as a jumping-off point for Cinque Terre. Breakfast is included and there's parking in the back for a fee and internet is extra as well. Very impressive, could not be more convenient to the railway station but we had a room at the rear and heard nothing to disturb us. The signora whose domain was the breakfast room deserves accolades for both her presentation of the room and the quality of the breakfasts.

First time in La Spezia. Ideal access point for the Cinque Terra. Arrived by train. Area in front of the stazione was messy due to construction, but the general area is quite nice. Hotel charming and very comfortable. Staff friendly and very helpfull.Great breakfast in the "Atticum". In house baking very tasty, esp. the croissants. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Our room was rather noisy as it was overlooking a noisy street which meant that we had to have the window closed at night. The breakfast was excellent , on our last day we were warned that a large group would be having breakfast early so we could time our arrival which was very helpful. The one woman who was looking after the breakfast room had everything restocked within fifteen minutes and still managed to keep a smile on her face. Lorenzo at the front desk was very helpful with suggestions for eating , you need go no further than the Roma over the road if you want fantastic food but are not too worried about elegant surroundings. Don't expect fancy wine , he has two sorts red or white! The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station which is very handy.

This hotel is in an ideal place to visit the Cinque Terre and nearby Porto Venere. The hotel is 3 mins from the train station and 5 mins from the main square. shopping street of La Spezia. La Spezia is an ideal base, it has a good selection of restaurants and a post to enable boat travel to local areas. The hotel is lovely and very well furnished, the recption staff were very pleasant and only too eager to help. I requested a room on the highest florr with a balcony and i was given the room on the 5th Floor with a large balcony. The only fault was it over looked the railway but with the double glazing you could only hear a minimal noise. The room was very spacious and very well appiointed however the only fault i have was the air conditioning unit it only managed to blow around hot air, this needed to be upgraded with amore recent unit. Overall loved this area of Italy and would recommend this area of Italy and this hotel.

Practical hotel for "cinque terre", next to the train station. Nice breakfast room with view on town's roofs. Very small bathroom. Prices are quite expensive, especially car parking : 18€/day !

Hôtel de très grande qualité, bien situé près de la gare pour qui veut passer la journée aux Cinque Terre ... et dont le prix en plein été, correspondant sans aucun doute à la basse saison pour ce type d'établissement, le rend particulièrement intéressant.

This was a very pleasant stay and the hotel is warm and friendly, the breakfast room is gorgeous offering a really great breakfast and lovely view up into the hills. This hotel is great for getting around as station just opposite and the port is at the bottom of hill. Shops are nice here too. All in all a very convenient place to stay.

Very nearby station, the area is not very attractive, but close to the center. Easy to reach the " Cinque Terre". The room and the bathroom are old fashioned. Unclear how their parking system works and how to reach the hotel by car.

Accoglienza molto gentile e attenta. La camera che ci hanno dato era all'ultimo piano sotto la terrazza, quindi un po' calda. L'aria condizionata non era molto efficiente. Breakfast un po' carente. In generale un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

I spent four nights at the Firenze e Continentale while touring Cinque Terre. I really appreciated the fact that the hotel was just meters from the train station which allowed made travelling to Cinque Terre convenient. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The room was spotless and well maintained. Breakfasts were more than adequate and this hotel provided cocktails and appetisers in the early evening which was unique in Italy. There was a good mix of young and elderly couples and those I spoke with had a high opinion of this hotel and staff. I would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the C.Q. area for the quality of staff, accomodations, location and value.

This hotel is very close to the railway station which is useful if you are staying to visit the Cinque Terre. The room was reasonably spacious and very clean. The staff spoke English and were helpful when asked but not very friendly. There are few nearby eating places for dinner which made life difficult.

Great location for train travelers is the best characteristic of this hotel. Bedroom was spacious, bathroom wasn't. Much celebrated breakfst/sun room was "OK", but not as glorious as advertised. Breakfast was hot and cold...literally. (Coffee was cold some mornings, along with some of the "hot" foods.) Front desk was very helpful. Reason to stay here?...Location, location, location...to the trains and to the cinque terre.

The hotel was really nice, the only weak point was the garage, which costs 13 EUR/day. It is an old building used as a garage, the spaces are really small. In another hotel (same category) I only had to leave the key at the reception and they parked the car, and after -at leaving- they brought my car to the reception. That was a "service". Anyway all the rest was OK, breakfast was excellent and breakfast room had a nice panorama!

Lovely spacious room. A shame there was no 'fridge. The airconditioning was not working and when we reported it we were told it would be looked at but nothing happened. Luckily opening the window did the trick as it was cooler at night. Stayed for 4 nights. Would stay there again.

Lovely clean spacious room however right beside stairway and endless noise from people using the stairs. Staff first day bery unfriendly and then after very nice. They have heavy key ring holders that bash the doors and distrub everyone I am sure as doors are opened and closed. Breakfast was very good and all spaces and amenities very good.

The Firenze e Continentale was a great place to stay. It is very close to the train station and within easy walking distance of the station, city center, and various trattorias. The receptionist was a little cold but very efficient. My room was noisy because it faced the street and the train station. Closing the window remedied that easily. Also, if hiking the Cinque Terre this is a great place to stay because you can take the train to the Cinque Terre very easily regardless of where you wish to begin your hike. I would definitely stay here again.
